INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS INFRARED MOTION SENSOR PIR800 This product must be installed by a qualified electrician in accordance with Building Regulations and current IEE wiring regulations. WARNING This product carries mains voltages and can cause serious electrical shock. Ensure electrical supply is disconnected / isolated before commencing installation. This product is designed for indoor use only. PRODUCT DESCRIPTION This product features high-level sensitivity in motion detection combined with convenience, safety, energy-saving and practical functions. It utilises infrared energy from humans as a control-signal source which can start the load immediately on entering the detection field, with automatic day and night identification. FUNCTIONS 1. Identify day and night: The working state can be adjusted to different ambient light settings. It can be set to function during daytime and at night when adjusted to the “sun” position (max). It can also work in ambient light less than 3LUX when adjusted to the “3” position (min). Please refer to the testing information for instructions. 2. Time-Delay: When it receives the second induction signals within the first induction, it will restart to time from the moment. INSTALLATION ADVICE 1. Avoid pointing the detector towards objects with highly reflective surfaces, such as mirrors etc. 2. Avoid mounting the detector near heat sources, such as heating vents, air conditioning units, light etc. 3. Avoid pointing the detector towards objects that may move in the wind, such as curtains, tall plants etc INSTALLATION HEIGHT: 1.8M TO 2.5M POOR SENSITIVITY GOOD SENSITIVITY DETECTION DISTANCE: MAX 12M LIGHTSOURCE LED LTD Grindle House Farm, Grindle Road, Grindle, Nr Shifnal, Shropshire, TF11 9JR [t] 01952 750444 [e] [email protected] www.lightsourcelighting.co.uk INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS INSTALLATION & OPERATION 1. Turn power supply OFF. 2. Remove product from packaging. 3. Loosen the screw in the back of the unit and remove it (refer to figure 1). 4. Locate the wire hole with gasket in the downside of the sensor and pass the power wire through the hole. Connect the power wire into connection-wire column according to the connectionwire diagram. 5. Screw the back of the unit into the selected position (refer to figure 2). 6. Fix the sensor unit to the back unit and tighten the screw. 7. Turn the power ON and test the unit. FIGURE 1 FIGURE 2 TESTING 1. Turn the TIME dial anti-clockwise to the minimum (10s). Turn the LUX dial anti-clockwise to the maximum (sun). 2. Switch on the power; the sensor and connected lamp will have no signal at the beginning. After a 30 second warm-up period, the sensor will begin to function. If the sensor receives the induction signal, the lamp will turn on. 3. When there is no further induction signal, the load will stop working within 10sec ± 3sec and the lamp will turn off. 4. Turn LUX dial clockwise to the minimum (3). If the ambient light is more than 3LUX, the sensor or lamp will not work. If the ambient light is less than 3LUX (darkness), the sensor will function. 5. When there is no further induction signal, the load will stop working within 10sec ± 3sec. Note: when testing in daylight, please turn LUX dial to SUN position, otherwise the sensor lamp will not work! If the lamp is more than 60W, the distance between lamp and sensor should be at least 60cm. PROBLEM SOLVING • The load does not work: a. Please check if the connection of power source and load is correct. b. Please check if the load is good. c. Please check if the settings of working light correspond to ambient light. • The sensitivity is poor: a. Please check if there is any hindrance in front of the detector to affect the receiving of signals. b. Please check if the ambient temperature is too high. c. Please check if the induction signal source is in the detection field. d. Please check if the installation height corresponds to the height required in the instructions. e. Please check if the moving orientation is correct. • The sensor cannot shut off the load automatically: a. Please check if there is continual signal in the detection field. b. Please check if the time delay is set to the maximum position c. Please check if the power corresponds to the instructions. The guarantee is invalid in the case of improper use, incorrect installation or tampering. Should the product fail during the guarantee period, it will be repaired or replaced free of charge, subject to correct installation and return of the faulty unit with a proof of purchase.
