From our base in Palma de Mallorca we cater for some of the world’s largest yachts, with a very strong commitment to service quality & availability. We operate a substantial IT & satellite infrastructure that allows us to operate all main service elements (VSAT, VoIP, CSP, monitoring/NMS, email, secondary services) from fully owned IT infrastructure & Teleports in Palma de Mallorca, USA, Chili and Germany. We have a staff of specialist people with expert skills in networking, VoIP, wireless/RF, stabilized platforms and a host of other marine suppliers’ products. We exclusively focus on the marine market, and put huge emphasis on the service-element. At present we have about 150 large yachts in our portfolio, to which we typically provide an array of services varying from network design, consultancy, installation down to operational & support services. Quite a-typical for a company our size we actually do a lot of inhouse developing (of both hardware & software products), and above all we operate all key services from an entirely owned infrastructure JOB DESCRIPTION As part of our international team of Field Engineer, you will need to travel to install and commission onboard IT networks and VSAT modems. Although around 85% of the installation jobs are in Europe, you are required to travel all over the world if needed. Since the works at OmniAccess cover a wide scope of activities, installation jobs typically include:
Installation of marine stabilized parabolic antennas like SeaTel, Orbit, Intellian, KNS, etc. -
Trouble shooting and repair of the antenna components

Cable runs and patch work
Physical installation of network components like modems, routers and switches -
Basic configuration of the network components

Troubleshooting of the network components
Document the installation with a report, network diagrams and photos -
Installation and maintenance of teleport infrastructure
Essential requirements: -
Degree in Telecommunications or electronic Engineering

Excellent command of English (written & verbal)
The ideal candidate would have experience in one or more of the following fields (in order of importance): o Practical “hands on” knowledge of IT networking concepts & fundamentals (routing, switching, wireless networking) at least at the level comparable to the Cisco CCNA certification. Familiarity with more advance subjects like VoIP & security would be a pro. o Experience with operating and/or installing iDirect satellite networks (or comparable technologies) o Experience with installing and/or operating stabilized satellite antenna systems (such as Seatel, Orbit, KNS, Intellian) o General RF knowledge (radio communication links, RF engineering, antennas, link-budgets, microwaves etc
