Established in 1934, Lumiance is a leading lighting manufacturer serving both the installation and distribution markets. Its name originates in the French words luminaire, for light fitting, and ambiance: together they portray lighting that creates atmosphere. Over the decades, Lumiance has maintained its lead by listening to customers and striving to create lightweight products that are easy to install. It is they who have inspired a host of innovations from the highly architectural, energy-saving HE (High Efficiency) and the minimalistic Micro-Lynx, right through to the Insaver LED range. Today’s breakthrough is the Insaver LED II, a new generation of downlights totally redesigned to achieve superior performance, even higher efficacy and faster, easier installation in the office, hospitality and retail sectors.

Insaver LED II Installation at the speed of light Insaver LED II has had a total redesign in order to push the boundaries of performance and installation. Where most LED downlights have diffused light source, Insaver LED II has a petallike, segmented reflector for optimal LED performance: a hightech solution that draws inspiration from nature. Inside, the LEDs have an unconventional layout designed to improve thermal performance and achieve higher efficacies. They align with a redesigned heatsink made of Advanced Graphite Composite, just half the weight of aluminium.
Features such as the innovative LumiClip fast installation system, a twist and lock bezel and a tool-free method for attaching accessories make installation fast and simple. The new design gives better glare control, allows for greater energy efficiency and ensures stable colour temperatures – with fewer components.

LumiClip installation system
We’ve redesigned the way downlights have been traditionally installed. Using our new LumiClip system, Insaver LED II can be installed in a simple and rapid single method. LumiClip allows for up to 25% installation time savings vs. Insaver LED.
Up to 114lm/W and 2,400 lumens
Up to 60% more energy efficient that our CFL generation and 45% more than our previous LED generation. Results in a greener and much more effective installation, reducing energy costs for the building owner. Perfect for up to 2x26W CFL replacement.
Magnetic attachment point
Quick and easy tool-free installation; it’s a unique and innovative way of attaching accessories securely (each accessory must pass a mandatory pull test of 5x its own weight).
UGR <19 accessory
Insaver LED II achieves a Universal Glare Rating (UGR) below the standard limit of 19, providing a comfortable working environment.
Surface mounted now available
By specifying our surface mounted version, Insaver LED II can be installed into areas with exposed ceilings.

Product design Insaver LED II is designed for efficiency, not only as a source but also in terms of installation, maintenance, lighting design and the end-user. Each aspect of its design has a purpose and a benefit. Controlling heat is vital both to reliability and performance. Insaver LED II’s Advanced Graphite Composite heat sink and innovative LED layout work together to improve airflow and heat dissipation. Besides helping to reduce maintenance, it also allows for greater efficacies and higher lumen outputs, for optimal use of light.

Insaver LED II’s installer-friendly design features include the patent pending LumiClip system, which makes it faster to install – or remove – and kinder to ceilings than spring systems; magnets to attach accessories and keep them securely in position, and a twist and lock bezel for extra security. Accessories include a UGR<19 low glare reflector, IP44 cover and drop flute. A surface mounted version of Insaver LED II is also available as a complete unit.

Lighting design example
Lighting glare
Creating the right mix of ambient and task lighting is particularly important in the workplace, where placing and spacing fittings for visual interest and comfort is at the heart of lighting design. Insaver LED II offers even lighting distribution, effective glare control and consistent colour temperatures.
Direct or reflected glare causes discomfort and fatigue. As a rule of thumb, offices and similar environments require luminaires with a Unified Glare Rating (UGR) of less than 19. Insaver LED II’s reflector and accessories ensure it fits comfortably below UGR 19 and high colour rendering of CRI 80.

Recommended average illumination (lux) levels for circulation areas is 100-150 lux and 300 lux for reception areas and general lighting.
0.85 uniformity
Uniformity is the ratio between the lowest and mean illuminance across the area. The higher the uniformity, the more evenly distributed the light is. The environment will then appear more visually pleasing to the eye. The minimum uniformity requirement in a reception areas is 0.6 (60%).

This is the total connected power load (W) of the lighting scheme. Consultants will generally aim to achieve anything below 2 W/m²/100 lux per area.

Efficacy Light output per watt is the key measure of luminaire efficiency. High efficacy lighting systems need fewer fixtures to provide appropriate lighting levels and enable greater flexibility in lighting designs. Insaver LED II has a high efficacy: up to 114lm/W. That is greater than competing LED products and about double that of some compact fluorescents. The range’s maximum output is 2,400lm per fixture. Dimming and other forms of lighting control, including DALI and Isotera, can create even greater levels of efficiency. Integral three-hour emergency lighting is also available. Insaver LED II raises the bar with a winning combination: high efficacy; consistent, glare-free and even lighting; a 50-000 hour lifetime for LEDs and improved thermal control.
