Verify this in the install screen * Microsoft Office XP and 2003 exams cannot be installed on Microsoft Windows 98 * The following are not supported at this time: • AOL Internet service provider • Macintosh workstations • Microsoft Office Business and Standard Editions• Microsoft Windows ME • Microsoft Windows 2000 Server • Microsoft Windows NT • Win Modems • Terminal Server 1 3 Choose your Configuration ADMINISTRATIVE AND TEST WORKSTATION ONLY STANDALONE (Both Administration and Testing software on One Workstation) The Standalone configuration will be used if one Workstation will be used to perform Administrative Tasks and to give Exams. If this is the configuration you will use, go to Step 4 Standalone for software installation instructions. ADMINISTRATIVE WORKSTATION TESTING WORKSTATION TESTING WORKSTATION NETWORKED The Networked configuration will be used for sites that have one Administration Workstation and one or more Testing Workstations networked together. • The Administration Workstation is the only workstation that will be required to connect to the Internet. • You will not be able to administer exams from the Administration Workstation. • You can connect up to 10 Testing Workstations to one Administration Workstation. If this is the configuration you will use, go to Step 4 Networked for software installation instructions. ADMINISTRATIVE AND TEST WORKSTATION TESTING WORKSTATION TESTING WORKSTATION NETWORKED + STANDALONE The Networked plus Standalone configuration will be used for sites that have the desire to give exams from the Administration Workstation and have one or more Testing Workstations networked together with it for testing purposes. • The Administration Workstation is the only workstation that will be required to connect to the Internet. • You will be able to administer exams from the Administration Workstation. • You can connect up to 10 Testing Workstations to one Administration Workstation. If this is the configuration you will use, go to Step 4 Networked + Standalone for software installation instructions. 2 4 Install Certiport iQsystem Software Standalone Install iQsystem Administrative Software ADMINISTRATIVE AND TEST WORKSTATION ONLY 4.1 Insert CD or Execute Install Software 4.4 Site Administrator Setup 4.2 Select “Standalone Workstation Software” Provide the information as prompted. This will assign administrative privileges for the iQsystem. You may want to record this information for future reference. 4.3 iQsystem Installation Key and Password Entry Enter your Installation Key and Password. You selected these during your testing center registration, and they were e-mailed to you under the subject “Getting Started.” They must be entered accurately, or the software will not run properly. If you cannot locate your key and password, contact Customer Support and a new password will be assigned. 4.5 Assign an Administrative Workstation Name 4.6 Click ‘Next’ to complete install 4.7 Restart the machine. This is the last prompt during installation. 4.8 The iQsystem software has been installed. Move on to Step 5 “Install Exam Software” on page 11. 5 5 Install Exam Software INSTALL EXAM SOFTWARE Perform this step on each machine that will be used to administer exams. 5.1 Initiate the exam installation Double click the desired exam package--Microsoft Office 2000, Microsoft Office XP, Microsoft Office 2003, IC³, or WOW. 5.2 Review Exam Listing Being Installed The exam install must match the Office version on the machine, i.e,: if Microsoft Office XP is installed, you cannot install the Microsoft Office 2000 exams. Verify this in the install screen. 5.3 Click ‘Next’ to complete install. 5.4 Perform the iQsystem update for Administrative Workstation software. 6 How to Run a Configuration Test RUN CONFIG TEST Perform this step on each machine that will be used to administer exams. The Config test is intended to allow you to insure the exams will run correctly. It will run for 1-6 minutes, it does not require inventory and will not be scored. Go to the Exam Selection Screen, near the bottom of the screen you will see a box next to Config Test. Place a check in it, a window will appear, enter you administrative user name and password. Click ok and then select the exam from the drop down menu you would ike to test. Enter your administrative user name and password again at the bottom and click next.
