General GST200 Intelligent Fire Alarm Control Panel is designed in accordance with EN 54-2, using latest addressable technology. With small size, easy installation and easy commissioning method, it is ideal for small addressable systems. LCD screen shows details of each event. Fuzzy logic control enables the maximum flexiable programming. Please assign a specific person to keep this manual for occasional use during operation of the GST200 Intelligent Fire Alarm Control Panel. 2. Product Introduction GST200 Intelligent Fire Alarm Control Panel (FACP) is designed by EN 54 standard with qualities of simple installation, operation, and easy maintenance. It is used in fire alarm system with the following features: 1. 30 zones capacity, each zone has its own alarm and fault/disable LEDs and a label. 2. Class A loop can have up to 235 addressable devices. It is compatible with a series of addressable GST products, which are intelligent sounder strobe (I-9403) complying with EN 54-3, optical smoke detector (I-9102) complying with EN 54-7, intelligent manual call point (MCP, I-9202) complying with EN 54-11, intelligent reflective beam detector (I-9105R) complying with EN 54-12, input and output module (I-9300, I-9301) complying with GEI 1-084, and loop isolator (C-9503) complying with GEI 1-052. 3. Graphic LCD can display 8 lines in total and 18 characters each line, assisting the 15 LEDs to display important information. 4. The memory does not lose data even if power supply is accidentally removed. 5. Manual keys for each zone, which can activate/silence the sounder strobes separately. 6. Automatically prompting operation steps for every alarm device and for smoke exhaust and fire extinguisher by field programming. 7. Sounder strobe interface provides 0.5A/24V output, compatible with GST conventional sounder strobe (C-9403) designed according to EN 54-3. 8. RS232 interface enables communication with PC. 9. RS485 interface enables networking. 3. REPEATER (A, B): Communication bus for connecting with 10 repeater panels at most. Recommended Wiring: GST FireCable ® 2E/1.0 2 core and Earth 1mm2 CSA 2 RS232 Communication Loop RS232 connection is to communicate with Graphic User Interface (GUI) system installed on PC through serial port. Recommended Wiring: Standard RS232 interface. The 2nd pin (for sending data), the 3rd pin (for receiving data), and the 5th pin (ground) are connected with PC through three-core shield cable (Note: Wire length should be less than 15m; shield layer and computer’s enclosure should be connected to ground) Detection Loop Parameters  LOOP OUT (+, -): Polarized signal loop from the FACP, which can be connected with mostly 235 addressable devices. Structure and Configuration 4.1 Appearance and Internal Structure GST200 Intelligent Fire Alarm Control Panel is wall-mounted. It illuminates when the FACP detects an alarm condition of connected detectors or MCP. After fire alarm condition is removed, the fire status can be cleared by pressing RESET key, and this LED goes out simultaneously.  COMMON FAULT: Amber. It illuminates when the FACP detects fault of connected devices or panel itself. It goes out automatically when RESET is pressed after the fault condition is removed.  DISABLED: Amber. It illuminates when connected devices, F.P.E. output or sounder circuit output are disabled.   MUTE: Amber. It illuminates when the FACP is in mute state. AC FAULT: Amber. It illuminates when the main power supply is not valid. After the AC power resumes, it goes out automatically.    SYSTEM FAULT: Amber. It illuminates if the program encounters a dead halt. POWER HEALTHY: Green. It illuminates when main or standby power is ON. BATTERY FAULT: Amber. It illuminates when standby power is in fault. After the fault is cleared, it will go out.  F.P.E. FLT/DISABLE: Amber. It flashes when F.P.E. output is in fault and illuminates steadily after the F.P.E. is disabled.  SOUNDER FLT/DISABLE: Amber. It flashes when the sounder circuit output (SounderA) and the addressable sounders on the loop are in fault and illuminates steadily after the sounder is disabled.  PLANT CONTROL: Amber, Action message indication. It illuminates when there are feedback signal of fire-protective plant.   DELAY MODE: Amber. It illuminates when the sounder output is set in delay mode. EXTINGUISHING SYSTEM RELEASE: Amber. EXTINGUISHING SYSTEM REQUEST: Amber. It illuminates when the system is ready to start the gas extinguishing equipment but the FACP is in release-disabled or delayed state.  EXTINGUISHING SYSTEM PERMIT: enabled. Amber. It illuminates when extinguishing system is 4.1.3 Description of Keys            SYSTEM: Engineer System setting up PRINT: Printing mode setting SELF TEST: Carry out visual and audible indication when panel is in normal. MODE: Setting up the gas extinguishing permittion status START/STOP: Start/stop the loop devices. ENABLE/DISABLE: Enabling/disabling loop devices SEC: Setting up security mode RESET: Resetting the system BROWSE: Browsing the information of system configuration LOG: Viewing history record SCREEN: Setting up the screen contrast, message display mode and browsing cause and effect (C&E) equations.      MUTE: Stopping the FACP local audio alarm. VIEW FAULT: Displaying fault information LOCK: Locking the keypad when it is unlocked. SCROLL: Changing display contents when there are more than one piece of message. ESC: Canceling or quitting the operating menu. If it’s pressed while the FACP is displaying messages, it will resume displaying messages of the highest level.   VIEW DISABLE: Viewing disabled messages. ENTER: Confirming inputs to be valid. In normal monitoring state, pressing it can make the clock display change between month/day mode and hour/minute mode.  VIEW PLANT: Displaying action messages. 4.1.4 Zone Indication and Manual Intervention Panel (ZCP) Appearance of zone indication and manual intervention panel is shown in Fig. 4-4. Page 7 of 57 GST200 Operating Manual Global System Technology PLC The Intelligent Solution Fig. 4-4 The ZCP have 32 units. Each unit consists of a key, two indicators and a label. The key is for start/stop control. Device labels can be stuck on the right side of the keys, marking corresponding names. Zone indication and manual intervention panel can complete the following functions through defining. 4.1.4.1 Zone Indication a) LEDs b) Fire: Red. It illuminates when a fire occurs in the zone. Fault/Disable: Amber. It flashes when there is any fault in the zone. If all devices in this zone are disabled, the LED illuminates steadily. It goes out after the trouble is cleared or the FACP is reset. The key of a zone is used to activate/stop sounders in the zone. 4.1.4.2 Device Operation (Start/Stop) a) Command LED: Red. It illuminates when start command is given and goes out when stop command is given or the FACP resets. b) Key: Pressing to start/stop a device. 4.1.4.3 SILENCE Key: a) Command LED: It lights after the key pressed. If new alarm comes, the FACP is reset or SILENCE key is pressed again, the LED goes out. b) 4.2 Key: Press the key in fire state to silence all sounders, press again to resume the alarm. Configuration 4.2.1 Typical Configuration A typical FACP consists of main board, interface board, power supply, display part, and zone indication and manual intervention panel (ZCP). Page 8 of 57 GST200 Operating Manual Global System Technology PLC The Intelligent Solution  Main board Main board is the core of the FACP, which contains CPU and interfaces to other main parts and optional parts.  Interface board It is signal interface board of the FACP, which has communication port, detecting port, fire alarm output port, fault output port etc. The interface board connects field devices and the FACP into a complete fire alarm system.  Loop module The loop module provides an interface for Class A loop detection.  Power supply It provides power to the main board, loop interface board and printer. The built-in battery charger connecting to 24V backup batttery ensures the system continuously work in case of power fault.  Display and operation part This part is used to indicate the status of the system, and carry out relative operations through keypad (browsing, setting, disabling and etc).  Zone indication and manual intervention panel (ZCP) The ZCP is to make zonal indicate of fire alarm, fault/disable state, start/stop a device or make a global silence. 4.2.2 Optional Units  Fireman’s Control Panel (FCP) Fireman’s Control Panel is designed for controlling some important devices in the system like fire pump, smoke exhauster and blower manually and automatically. Maximum 10 routes can be equipped on the FACP. The panel can monitor the fault on the cable of short circuit and open circuit with corresponding audio and visual indications, which can ensure the reliability of connection between the panel and the plant equipment as much as possible.  Printer The built-in type micro matrix printer can print 96 kinds of ASCII code characters (capital or lower case of Latin letters, figures and symbols) and programmable non-standard code charactors.  Communication card The FACP provides a multi-functional communication port, connecting with different types of cards to realize networking among GST series fire alarm control panels, to form urban fire alarm supervisory network through public telephone network and to fulfill graphic supervision by connecting with GUI system. The FACP can provide two kinds of network cards: Local Network Card, Monitor & Control Card. Their structures are shown in Fig. 4-5. Note: A RS-232 card should be ordered as a commissioning tool. Only with this card, the system definitions can be downloaded from PC. 4.3 Field Devices 4.3.1 Series of Intelligent Alarm Detectors GST 200 can connect with a series of fire detectors, such as I-9102, I-9103, I-9105R, etc. The detectors installed in the protected area transmit monitoring message to the control panel through detection loop. Every detector has its own address with which the control panel can supervise the information of alarm, fault, and normal status of the detectors. 4.3.2 Modules The addressable input module I-9300 module is to monitor signal from field equipment, and transmits the information to the control panel. I-9301 single I/O module connects with the equipment controlled by the control panel, such as smoke exhauster, fan blower and fire valve. It can also receive the feedback signal from this equipment. 4.3.3 Loop Isolator Loop Isolator is used to break the short circuit part of loop from the whole system to ensure normal operation of other parts, minimize the execution of the fault. After the fault is repaired, the loop Page 10 of 57 GST200 Operating Manual Global System Technology PLC The Intelligent Solution isolator can automatically reset the isolated part and put it back into normal operation. 4.3.4 Manual call point (MCP) A series of manual call points (such as I-9202) can be connected with the loop of GST200. When fire is observed, press the glass on the MCP, alarm signal will be sent to the control panel. After receiving the alarm signal, the control panel will show the number and location of the MCP, and sound alarm. 4.3.5 Addressable sounder strobe Addressable sounder strobe is a kind of audible/ visual alarm device installed in field, which can be activated by fire alarm control panel or by manual call point installed in field. A series of GST addressable sounder strobes (such as I-9403) can be connected to the loop of GST200. Being activated, it will generate strong audible/ visual alarm signal to warn people away from dangerous. 4.3.6 Repeater Panel GST852RP(X) Repeater Panel is designed with a microprocessor. When alarm occurs, the repeater panel can display the address and information of the fire and make audible alarm. The repeater panel is connecting with fire alarm control panel through RS485 communication port. 4.4 Configuration Software The software has the functions of editing and downloading system definition of device and C&E equation. The definitions should be done and downdloaded to the panel via RS232 card before the system starts operation. 5. Installation and Commissioning Please follow the steps below to install and commission the GST200 system. 1 Check if you have received all items you ordered according to packing list 2 Mount the FACP 3 Power up the FACP and carry out power-on inspection. 4 Inspect cable circuit 5 Connect field devices 6 Register devices 7 Define the devices and equations than download to the control panel through configuration software by PC according to engineering configuration. 8 Full system test 9 Handover Page 11 of 57 GST200 Operating Manual Global System Technology PLC The Intelligent Solution 5.1 Product Inspection Before installation, check the appearance of GST200 for the following items: 5.2  Check Engineering Configuration Check the configuration according to packing list. The main items to be examined are: installation and operation manual, keys to the control panel, etc.  Check Internal Configurations and Interconnection of the Control Panel All internal parts have been connected completely (including optional units) before the control panel leaves the factory. Therefore, mainly check the following items: zone indication and manual intervention panel and power supply. Check the connection among parts, including the connection between main board and power supply, switch board and loop interface board, zone indication and manual intervention panel with switch board, speaker and main board etc. Please refer to Appendix 1. Mounting the Cabinet Dimension of the cabinet is shown in Fig. 5-1. Ambient Temperature: 0˚C ~ +40˚C Relative Humidity <95%, non-condensing. Fig. 5-1 5.3 Start-up Checking After installation, apply power to the FACP as shown in Fig. 5-2. Turn on the main and standby power supply in the cabinet and check if the control panel can carry out self-test. If all parts of time display illuminate one by one  If the LCD makes block checking  If the state LED indicators illuminates one by one  If the zonal LED indicators in ZCP illuminate in turn  If the speaker can give loud alarm sounds Power L N G 1 3 2 AC Power L Switch N Fig. 5-2 5.4 Bases installation & Inspect cable circuit All GST addressable devices (excluding addressable sounder bases) have individual base for only wiring and fixing. Install and wire the bases to make complete loop. The connections please refer to individual manual of each device. The sounder base and and isolators (including isolator bases) should not be connected before insulation test. All cable circuits including loop, sounder circuit and F.P.E. circuit should be checked before any device installed. The items to check include continuouty, insulation and connection resistance. Because the high voltage for testing insulation may damage the devices, so the testing must be carried out before connect any device (base without electronic component has no problem during testing). Insulation resistance measured within the circuits and between circuits to ground should be more than 20MΩ. Risistance of single line cable is relevant with cable size and connection quality. 5.5 Connections of Field Devices Caution: Do not Apply power until you have completed all input and output connections. Failure to do so may result in injury! GST200 connects with field devices by the interface board. Terminals of loop interface board are shown in Fig. 5-3. Page 13 of 57 GST200 Operating Manual Global System Technology PLC The Intelligent Solution Fig. 5-3 5.5.1 Function of terminals:  CLASS CHANGE (XT3): Short to activate the sounder output.  FAULT OUTPUT (XT8): Dry contact output on fault for Normally Open or Normally Close mode.  SOUNDER CIRCUIT OUTPUT (XT7): The output will be activated when there is fire alarm, can be stopped by pressing “SILENCE” key on ZCP. Output can be disabled, and there is no output after disabled. The control panel will report fault when connected cable in short or open circuit.  F.P.E. OUTPUT (XT6): The output will be activated when there is fire alarm. It can be disabled, and does not output when fire alarm occurs in disabled state. The control panel reports fault when connected cable in short or open circuit.  FIRE ALARM OUTPUT (XT5): The output will be activated when there is fire alarm and should give fault signals when connected circuit is shorted or opened.  LOOP BUS, Loop Out (XT2) & Loop In (XT4): The fire detection loop, can be connected with 235 addressable devices. Class A type connection is recommended with loop isolator, so that the fire detection will be maximumly protected in case of short circuit on the loop. The panel will report reports fault in this case.  RS-485 Network (XT11): To join this panel into network. An optional RS-485 network card is required.  RS-485 Repeater (XT12): To be connected with repeater panel. Page 14 of 57 GST200 Operating Manual Global System Technology PLC The Intelligent Solution  Earth (X8): This terminal is to enable earth fault monitoring by short the two pins. 5.5.2 Output mode setting F.P.E. OUTPUT, SOUNDER CIRCUIT OUTPUT and FIRE ALARM OUTPUT can provide in three modes: active output (24VDC, default setting), normally closed output and normally open output. Please refer to individual manual of each device, program the address to devices’ bodies according to the drawings. The addresses cannot be repeated. 5.6.2 Devices Installation The bases of each device should be installed and wired before install the devices’ bodies. Install the addressed devices according to the drawings. The address of the body must match the drawings. 5.6.3 Registration of Devices Pressing SYSTEM and inputting Commission password (24220011) followed with ENTER, system setting menu will appear. After re-started, the control panel will register the devices automatically. Press BROWSE to check if the number of devices is in compliance with the project design and remove if any problems. 5.7 Definition and Download Please define devices and C&E equations by configuration software (GST-DEF) via a PC, and download the definitions to the control panel. Here is the brief introduction of the software. Detail operations please refer to the software manual. 5.7.1 Installation 5.7.1.1 Configuration Requirement Recommended Configuration: Pentium III 600 CPU or above 256M memory or above 1GB or above hard disk available space Operating System: Win98 SE, Win2000, WinXP Professional 5.7.1.2 Software Installation The setup file of GST-DEF software is named Setup.exe. installation wizard will install it into the PC. Double-click this file and following the 5.7.1.3 Connection of PC with the FACP The software can work offline for defining in the office, only connecting to the panel for downloading the definitions. The definition downloading needs a RS232 communication card. Connect the 232 card to the extend port of the FACP main board using ribbon cable (Fig. 5-11) and connect it with the PC using a 3-core shield cable with DB9F plugs at both ends. The 3-core shield cable is made as in Fig. 5-9. Maximum length of the cable is 15m. Turning on the AC and battery switch of the FACP and entering system setting screen by pressing SYSTEM key and inputting commission (24220011) password, and then pressing the reset key SK1 on the main board (Fig. 5-11) will reboot the FACP and re-register all system devices including the RS232 card. The RED LED on the RS232 card will keep flashing if registered. Completing the registration, you are ready to define the devices. Successful means the number of successful communications.  Failed is the number of failed testing.  Timeout Factor is the communication timeout, programmable from 200ms to 2000ms.  Log is a system reserved button, not available for the users.  Communication Detail lists the details of the communication messages. Database is used for database backup and recovery, whose operation screen is in Fig. 5-15. Fig. 5-15 Backup Database: You can use this button to regularly backup the database in order to avoid loss of data. The backup data is saved by default into a folder named “backup” under the directory where the software is installed.  Restore Database: Clicking this button can restore a database to the previously saved version. Rebooting the program is required to make the restored database valid. DevType is for viewing device types. There are 67 types by default. The screen is shown in Fig. 5-16. Exit system is used for exiting the software. 5.7.3 Operation Screens System navigation tree provides a shortcut method for adding and deleting control panels, switching and setting among different panels (Fig. 5-17). Fig. 5-17 Every node provides corresponding operations. At FACP level, the system displays the FACP type and address. Right-click the FACP, the following menu will pop up. Under FACP Zone, the user can add, modify or delete zones. 5.7.4 Adding FACP Right-click FACP node, a menu for adding FACP will show. Clicking the option, a dialogue box as in Fig. 5-19 will show. Fig. 5-19      FACP Name: You can key in descriptions to this FACP, or leave it as it is. FACP Address: The address shall not be the same as other FACPs. FACP Type: The type of this FACP should be GST200EN. FACP Network: Ticking this option means the FACP is networked. Start Zone: This is the starting zone number of this FACP in network. 5.7.5 Zone Definition 5.7.5.1 Use of Zone Definition By zone definition, you can define devices of a certain area (such as a floor) as one zone, and describe the location of the zone clearly through “Description”. When the devices in the zone are in fire alarm, fault, action or disabled state, the FACP shows the abnormal messages together with zonal messages and address of the device, so that the operators can find out the specific location easily and take effective measures. You will have to define zones before defining devices because a device must be in a zone. Clicking and choosing a FACP, the screen displays all zones of this FACP. Clicking the zone number you can view all devices of the zone as in Fig. 5-20. The GST200 can have maximum 30 zones. You can briefly describe a zone in “Description” column using maximum 8 characters including letters, numbers and marks. Note: The defaulted zone background colour is white, and font color is black. Different zones can be set with different colours, which make the zones distinct. 5.7.5.3 Deleting a Zone Choosing a zone (highlighted) and pressing the button will delete this zone. 5.7.5.4 Downloading and Uploading Pressing or will upload or download all zones. Choosing one or more zone and clicking or will upload or download specific zone or zones. 5.7.5.5 Saving Zone Definitions Clicking will save all definitions. 5.7.5.6 Reloading Zones Pressing will restore the zone definitions to the previously saved version. All modifications not saved will lose. 5.7.6 Definition of Loop Devices 5.7.6.1 Use of Device Definition The software can define device address, type, location description, zone and loop with which system operator can quickly locate the zone where fire alarm and fault condition occur. 5.7.6.2 Device Definition Clicking under GST200EN in FACP Net column will enter the screen for defining loop devices. For type of modules is subject to the actual device they are connecting with. For example, the type of a module addressed 17 connecting with a fire door shall be defined as 28-FireDoor. Please refer to Appendix 2 for the device type list.  : The output mode (level or pulse) can be chosen from the drop-down menu for sounders and output modules as in Fig. 5-22. Note: The following addresses (last 5 adddressed) are reserved for the panel itself, should be defined as in below list.      Fig. 5-23 238: Fault output, which is started when there is fault with the system. 239: Loop switch, which is activated if the FACP cannot find the test voltage at the Loop IN terminal. 240: Sounder output, which is started when the FACP receives fire alarm. This output is used for connecting with conventional sounders. It can be stopped by the SILENCE key. 241: F.P.E. (Fire Protection Equipment) output, started when the FACP receives fire alarm signal. This output is used for connecting with fire protection equipment and cannot be stopped by the SILENCE key. 242: Fire alarm output, which is started on receiving a fire alarm. This output is used for remote display of a fire alarm. It can be silenced by the SILENCE key on the ZCP. 5.7.6.3 Downloading and Uploading Device Definition Same as downloading and uploading zone definition, all or some specific loop device definitions can be uploaded and downloaded using corresponding toolbar buttons. 5.7.6.4 Device Checking Clicking the button, the system will check if there are duplicate device numbers. If so, the system will pop up an indication. You can then manually modify the 4th to 6th digit to make the number unique in the system. 5.7.6.5 Reloading Device Definitions Clicking will restore the device definitions to the previously saved version. All modifications not saved will lose. 5.7.7 Defining Repeater Panels 5.7.7.1 Use of Repeater Panel Definition The software can define the location repeater panels. Therefore, in case of any fault with a repeater panel, the operators can find out its location and take measures in time. Page 26 of 57 GST200 Operating Manual Global System Technology PLC The Intelligent Solution 5.7.7.2 Defining Repeater Panels Clicking will enter the screen for defining repeater panels as in Fig. 5-24. Fig. 5-24 GST200 can drive maximum 10 repeater panels. The description (Max. 8 characters) can be downloaded to the FACP. The FACP can display the description to the repeater panels in case of fault with it. This definition is not a necessary step. Even if the repeater(s) are not defined, The FACP will still work normally. Save and download the definitions. 5.7.8 Defining ZCP 5.7.8.1 Use of ZCP Definition The full name of ZCP is Zone Indication and manual Intervention Panel. There are totally 32 units, each contains two LED indicators and one button. Each unit can be defined for one of the following three purposes: Zone Indication, Start One Device or Silence.  Silence: One of the units, can be defined as the silence key for for global silence of all addressable sounders and sounder circuit output. Normally use the roght bottom key for easy reaching.  Zone Indication: some units can be defined as the zonal indication for fire (red LED illuminates steadily), fault (yellow LED illuminates steadily) or disable (yellow LED flashes), while pressing the key will activate all sounders of that zone. Please note that by EN54 standard, “Zone Indication” key must be defined for each zone and one “Silence” key for the whole system. After definition of these keys, if there are still some undefined keys, you can define them as “Start One Device” for starting field devices.  Start One Device: This option will only be valid for associated output devices. Pressing the key will start a device, and the second press will stop it. This is an optional feature only. 5.7.8.2 Defining ZCP Clicking will enter the screen for defining the ZCP as in Fig. 5-25. To define a key as “Start One Device”, you can click a cell under “Address of Device to Start” and choose the device address and description from the drop-down list. The “Function” cell changes to “Start One Device”.  Editing “Description”: Clicking a cell under “Description”, you can key in or choose from the drop-down list (if available) the description to this key. But this message is only saved on the PC and cannot be downloaded to the FACP. Please remember to save your modifications during definition. Upload the definitions for checking. 5.7.8.4 Reloading ZCP Definition Clicking the “Reload” button will restore the ZCP database to the previously saved version. Please note that all modifications after the “Save” operation will lose! 5.7.9 Defining Cause and Effect (C&E) Equations 5.7.9.1 Use of C&E The FACP can define under what conditions the alarm and/or output devices have to be started. So please define C&E equation after defining devices. Note: Please define C&E equation after completion of device definition. 5.7.9.2 Defining C&E Clicking under navigation list will enter the screen for defining C&E as in Fig. 5-26. Please save after all equations are defined.  : Restoring to the previously saved version. The number of devices in the conditions and results shall not exceed 10. If they exceed, please divide them into two equations. 5.7.9.3 Defining New Equations  Clicking a cell under of or , it will become editable. You can then manually input the device number. An easier way is double-clicking the cell and the list of the defined device will pop up. Choosing the devices and double-clicking the cell again or clicking , the device will be in the cell (Fig. 5-27). If multiple devices are needed in the condition, you can click to add more devices. Pressing can set the relationship between devices, where “+” means “OR” logic, “X” means “AND” logic.  The operation for adding multiple devices to the effect side is the same as condition side.  Delay time is editable to each device in the effect side. The unit for delay time is 10 seconds, and the maximum delay time is 10 minutes (600 seconds). For example, 6 means the delay time is 1 minute (6X10=60s). Fig. 5-27 Clicking , the newly defined equations will be added into the list at the bottom of the screen. Double clicking the cell under of or , the system will pop up the list of defined devices. Ticking the “Fuzzy Devices” option below the list will enable device fogging. By choosing the “Zone” and “Dev Type” options, you can quickly define C&E equations (Fig. 5-28). Fig. 4-28 For example, =01 & =03 refer to any detector in Zone 1, and =Any zone, = 02 refer to any R&F heat detector in the whole system. After choosing devices by fogging the zone and device type, you can go on to choose the number of devices. Please note that the relationship among all these devices is “AND”. Fig. 4-29 For example, if =2, then the condition is only met after any two of the selected devices alarm. 5.7.9.5 Rules for Display  Specific devices (number starting with the letter “G”)  The 2nd and 3rd digits are for zone number.  The 4th, 5th and 6th are for detector code.  The 7th and 8th are for device type. For example, G0207503 refers to an optical detector in Zone 2 whose code is 075.  Fuzzy devices (number starting with the letter “S”)  The 2nd and 3rd digits are for zone number and “**” means any zone.  The 4th, 5th and 6th digits are used for specifying the quantity of fuzzy devices which are displayed under .  The 7th and 8th digits are for device type, and “**” refers to devices of any type. For example, S0100203 refers to any two photoelectric detectors in Zone 1. Output devices can also be fogged, then all compliant devices will be started. 5.7.9.6 Editing Existing Equations Double-clicking the ID number of an equation from the list at the bottom of the screen in Fig. 4-29, you can edit it in the dialogue box popped up. The following steps are for your reference: 1. Fill and stick the ZCP labels corresponding to what have been defined. 2. Test all devices and check their locations. 3. Check device definition and modify improper parts. 4. Check and test C&E equation and modify improper parts. 6. Display and Disposal of System Information GST200 will start normal operation after commissioning. Turning on the external power switch, and main and standby power switch on the control panel, it starts power-on self-test and enters monitoring state. The system displays properly if it is in normal state, or the system displays improperly. 6.1 Normal Information The normal display is shown in Fig. 6-1, which means the system is in working state. Page 33 of 57 GST200 Operating Manual Global System Technology PLC The Intelligent Solution 6.2.2 Disposal of Fire Alarm Signal When fire alarm occurs, first find out the location according to the information shown on the control panel and investigate whether the fire really happened by some communication method, like internal fire telephone system. If it’s a real fire, please take corresponding measures. Step 1: Evacuate the people in field. Step 2: Call the fire bridge. Step 3: Initiate firefighting actions. If it is a false alarm, please take the following measures. Step 1: Press SILENCE to stop the sound. Step 2: Remove the factors that caused the false alarm. Step 3: Press RESET to make the control panel back to the normal state. If the panel still gives false alarm from the same device, disable it and inform the maintenance contractor for repair. 6.3 Fault Information 6.3.1 Screen of Fault Information When there are fault signals, different LEDs can be lit according to the type of fault. If it is mains fault, AC FAULT LED will be lit; if it is standby power fault, BATTERY FAULT LED will be lit; if it is system fault, SYSTEM FAULT LED will be lit; if it is field device fault, relative LED on the ZCP will flash. The speaker of the control panel gives alarm sound (ambulance sound). If the system is battery powered, please charge the battery in time to avoid damag. If the battery has powered the system overtime, the control panel will shut down for protection.  If it is system fault, please check and repair in time. If the panel needs to be shut down, please make detailed records.  If it is field device fault, please find out the condition and remove the fault immediately. You can temporarily disable the device if the fault cannot be cleared for some reason, and enable it again when it’s repaired. 6.4 Rules for Message Display If there are multiple messages in the system, they will be displayed in the following order: fire alarm, action, fault, start, disable. 1 The last fire alarm message is displayed in highest priority, always shown at the bottom or screen. The latest action, fault, disabled message is displayed in priority. 2 There are zone and loop display modes for fire alarm, fault, and disabled messages, but start and action only has loop display mode. 3 In any display mode, the system will return to displaying message of the highest priority if there is no operation within 20 seconds (15 ~ 30seconds). The FACP gives fire truck sound when fire alarm occurs.  The FACP gives action sound when any output/input device except detector and MCP is activated.  Module action: --slow “tick” sound.  Gas extinguishing device action --police car sound.  Delay timer for device starting by C&E equation--quick “tick” sound.  The FACP gives ambulance sound when fault occurs. 7. Description of System Operation 7.1 Keypad 7.1.1 Functions Most of the keys have double functions. Lower mark is a number/character and upper mark is a command that is only used in monitoring state. Most functional keys are controlled by password. The characters are only active after entering the menu. Pressing ESC will return to the previous level of the menu. 7.1.2 Methods of Data Input Pressing a character key, all characters disappear, and the display shows the newly input one. The cursor will indicate the next input position (the cursor always indicates the position of the next to input, and returns to the first character after completion of a line). Pressing the arrow buttons (Up & Down) can move the cursor to modify any character. Pressing TAB, the highlight moves to the next position and returns to the first after the last position. Wherever the cursor is, pressing ENTER key, all the input data will be saved. If there is no keypad operation for over 1 minute, the system will exit present state without saving the input data. 7.1.3 Unlocking and Locking the Keypad  Unlocking the Keypad The control panel is locked by default when powered up. If some operations are taken, the LCD will display a screen asking for password. Inputting the correct password and pressing ENTER, you can continue to operate as the keypad is unlocked (Fig. 7-1). Pressing LOCK, the screen will display “Press ENTER confirm” like in Fig. 7-2. Pressing ENTER, the keypad is locked. You will have to input password again to unlock the keypad for any other operation. In normal monitoring state, press ENTER, it will show month and date. Press ENTER again or after one minute, hour and minute is displayed again. 7.2.2 Browsing 7.2.2.1 Turning pages You can view messages one by one by pressing the arrow buttons. 7.2.2.2 Browsing more than one piece of information The current information is highlighted when there are more than one message on the LCD. You can view the details by pressing ENTER or you can exit by pressing ESC. When the printer is set as “All History” mode, the present displayed message can be printed by pressing PRINT while browsing. 7.2.2.3 Setting LCD contrast and viewing C&E equations Pressing SCREEN, the system enters the screen for setting LCD contrast, display mode and browsing C&E equation, as shown in Fig. 7-3. Arrow buttons are for increasing and decreasing LCD contrast. It will sound by priority when new event appears. 7.3 Instructions for Operator 7.3.1 Resetting the system Pressing RESET will clear all abnormal messages and set all devices inyto normal state, like stop activated modules, stop local output or reset alarming detector, but will leave the disabled devices as they are. The LCD displays “RESET IN SYSTEM”. LEDs will be turned off (Except for “POWER HEALTHY”, “DELAY MODE”, “EXTINGUISHING SYSTEM PERMIT” LEDs). “RESET” information will be saved into operation record. If there is still fire alarm, fault and action not acknowledged after pressing the RESET key, the FACP will remain relative sound indications. If all messages have been acknowledged by pressing RESET key, the system returns to normal display state. 7.3.2 Disable and Enable 7.3.2.1 Why disable/enable The disabling of device is used only when the trouble of a device cannot be removed in in a short time or during commissioning. The disabling is only a temporary solution. After the problem solved or system commissioning finished, the device must be enabled to complete the system proper operation. 7.3.2.2 Disabling/enabling a Device The DISABLED LED will illuminate when a device is disabled. You can input 3-digit number or asterisk “*” after “Z” for zone number. You can input 3-digit number or asterisk “*” after “C” for device code. You can input 2-digit number or asterisk “*” after “T” for device type. The corresponding device type will automatically change after the number input. Note: The asterisk “*” refers to number 0 ~ 9. For example, input “**” after “T” is inputing “Any type of device”.  Disabling Sounder circuit output: Entering zone number 000, device code 240 and device type 55 in turn will disable this output and light the SOUNDER FLT/DISABLE LED.  Disabling F.P.E Output: Entering zone number 000, device code 241 and device type 55 will disable this output and light the F.P.E FLT/DISABLE LED. Inputting number 2 will enter the screen for enabling a device. The operation method is the similar as disabling a device, also need to input the zone number, device code and device type. 7.3.3 Manual Operation The FACP provides two methods to start output devices (sounders & modules) quickly in case of a fire or for testing purpose. 7.3.3.1 Operation through STAR/STOP Key Pressing START/STOP key can start/stop loop devices. The screen is as in Fig. 7-18. Inputting number 2 will enter the screen for stopping loop devices. Inputting the zone number, device code and device type in turn will stop the device. Inputting number 3 will display the devices’ starting commands. Inputting number 4 can view the delayed devices. PLANT CONTROL and corresponding action indicator on the ZCP will also be lit. 7.3.3.2 Operation through ZCP Pressing a defined key on the ZCP and entering required password will start the corresponding device, and the corresponding RED LED illuminates. For already started device, pressing this key and entering the password will stop it, and the command LED goes off. 7.3.4 Setting work mode of printer Press PRINT to enter print mode as shown as in Fig. 7-19. *Print Mode* 1 Disable 2 Only Fire 3 All History Fig 7-19 Inputting “1” means print disabled. Inputting “2” means to link gas extinguishing equipment by equations automatically. 7.3.7 Security Mode Setting Pressing SEC, you can set up burglar mode. Inputting the address of the control panel at the highlighted position and pressing ENTER, the address is set and the system exits the current screen. The address is using for network identification and definition download. It cannot be same with other panels in same network, and the address should be same as in the definition software. * Net Local Address * Please Input 01 Fig. 7-29 7.4.4 Setting up Starting Zone Number of this FACP in Network Pressing “4” in the screen as shown in Fig. 7-23, you can set the starting zone number of the control panel when the message transfers to other network panels. The screen is shown as in Fig. 7-30. After inputting the number in the network and pressing ENTER, the zone number will be set and the system exits the current screen. The settings here are used for the FACP to be connected into network with other FACPs. If the starting zone number is set as 003, then the zone number for messages of fire, fault, disable and action will be the defined device zone number + 003. For example, device in zone No. 5 of the panel will be shown as in zone No. 8 (5+3) on other panels. Entering the device number and the command code can view the supervisory value of addressable devices. If the displayed value is between 450 ~ 650, the device is in normal operation; if it’s between 900 ~ 1200, the device is in alarm status, and if it’s between 0 ~ 120, the device is in fault.  “1” represents “registration” command, and 720 refers to normal condition.  “2” represents the command for monitoring the status of beam detector (I-9105). If the displayed value is between 680 ~ 750, the beam detector is properly aligned.  “15” means “Start” command, which can start corresponding device. Other numbers are reserved for future expansion. 8.
