Each of these kits has an aluminium interface flange plate that attaches to the bottom of a standard NNNOX310R-V4 antenna to interface with specifically sized mounting pole flanges. Each kit also includes a cover and the required fasteners to attach both the cover and interface plate to the antenna. The cover is made from the same material as the antenna radome and is designed for weather protection and sealing while retaining the overall unintrusive pipe like appearance of the antenna. The cover will provide a water and dust resistant barrier around the antenna, protecting the cables, the antenna and the internals of the pole from weathering and wildlife. This manual covers the installation of all JPI kit variants. 2 Installation 2.1 Fitting Interface to Antenna (all JPI kits)  Remove the three M6 SHCS and small traveller plate from the NNNOX310R-V4 antenna (sold separately). Dispose of used screws. Remove Traveller Plate Figure 2.1.1 NNNOX310R-V4 with small traveller plate still attached   Rotate the interface so that the notch on the outer edge is aligned with the centre of Sector 1. Use the sector arrow on the base of the antenna as a guide. Fix the interface flange (see figure 2.1.2) to the bottom of the antenna using three countersunk M6 screws and three countersunk M8 screws (both supplied). Use Loctite 272 to ensure the screws and interface are secure. M6 screw torque=7.2 Nm M8 screw torque=17.6 Nm Ø168 3x M8 Holes Equi Spaced on a 130 P.C.D. An M12, eye bolt with sufficient load capacity rating can be fitted to the top of the antenna after removing the M12 bolt and rubber washer (it is recommended to use an additional safety sling through the fins at the bottom of the antenna as well). Set aside the M12 bolt and washer as they will need to be replaced once the antenna is bolted to the pole. When replacing M12 bolt and washer do not over tighten. Use a torque of 0.5 to 1.0Nm. Feeding the various cables through the holes in the gasket place the gasket on the antenna side of the poles interface flange (figure 2.4.1). Rotate the antenna so that sector 1 is oriented in the correct direction. Use the notch on the interface plate or the sector arrow on the base of the antenna as a guide. Feed the tether through the poles interface flange. Feed the RF and AISG cables through the antenna’s JPI-1 or JPI-2 interface flange.  Attach the wire rope tether securely to a fixing point on the mounting pole using a “D” shackle (not provided).  JPI-1 kit: Fix the Antenna to the pole interface using the three provided M8x30 countersunk socket screws. Use Loctite 272 to ensure the antenna and screws are secure. M8 screw torque=17.6 Nm  JPI-2 kit: Fix the Antenna to the pole interface using 12 sets of M16 fasteners (not supplied). Depending on the fasteners used, Loctite 272 may be required. 2.3    2.4 Fitting Cables Fit Remote Electrical Tilt (RET) control cable to the fly lead (marked AISG). Fit RF input cables to the appropriate 7-16 connectors at the base of the antenna using specified torque of 23-28Nm (17-21Lb/Ft). Seal the connections with appropriate sealing method as required. Secure RF cables to existing pole structure to take the cable load of the antenna. Fitting Cover  Ensure screws, bolts and cables have been securely fastened, loctited and waterproofed where necessary.  Fix foam EPDM tape to the outer edge of one of the 3 fins of the antenna structure. This will be the sealing edge for the two halves of the cover (Figure 2.4.1).  Spread the cover apart and slip it around the 3 fins and cables at the base of the antenna. Note: Do not stretch the cover any more than is required as this may lead to damage of the cover hinge. www.commscope.com © 2015 CommScope, Inc. All rights reserved. Place the jubilee clamp around the cover approximately 70 mm from the bottom and gently tighten, ensuring the join becomes sealed by the foam tape. Fix the sealing jubilee clamp (pre-assembled with foam tape) to the top of the cover so that it overlaps and seals the joins between the cover, the stainless steel connector plates and plastic sealing ring of the antenna. (Figure 2.4.3) Tighten both jubilee clamps until cover is secured in place and a water resistant seal is achieved.
