Installation Instruction OMR-kit T09137 Preparation 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. Switch off the main power switch on the Powerpack (power supply). Disconnect the power cord and communication cable/cables. Remove all 11 plastic plugs (1). Lift the cover out and remove the ground wire from the cover. Remove the cover. Use a small screwdriver to move the securing plate (2) downwards. Remove the gas springs (3) on both sides and lower the accumulator box. CAUTION: Whitout the gas springs, the accumulating station will fall down to it´s transport position. 8. 9. 10. 11. From the rear, remove the four screws (4) using a 10 mm key. Lift the Model 49 (5) from the stand. Lift the accumulating box (6) from the stand. Cut the tie-wraps (7) and move the ribbon cable from the mounting bracket. 6 1 4 5 2 3 7 July 2001 Part No. 49026 Page 1 T09137 Installing Hardware 1. Install the PCB-mounting bracket (1) on the bracket with two screws (2). 2. Install the reader-amplifier bracket (3) on the PCB-bracket, with two screws and 4 washers (4) . 3 2 1 2 3. Install the standoffs, (5) on the PCB-bracket and mount the PCB-board (6) on the standoffs. 6 4 5 Page 2 T09137 1. Remove the screws (1) fastening the reinforcement bar. 2. Install the sliding bar (2) using new (longer) screws (3) and washers (4) placed between the sliding bar and the reinforcement bar (fig 1). 3. Loosen the knob (5) on the reader head. Place the reader head on the sliding bar and tighten the knob (fig 2). 4. Clean the surface where wiring covers (6) will be installed. 5. Open the wiring covers and place the cable from the reader head inside the wiring cover. The cable leght between the wiring cover and the reader head must not be less than 250 mm. 2. Let the cable enter the Model 49 through the hole next to the outside part of the insert front guide (1). 3. Measure the correct length by placing the cable along the sides and then cut it off. Strip the ends approx 5 mm. Do not cut the shield of the cable, used as earth connection. 4. Place the cable along the side and secure with tie-wraps. 5. Put the grey latch on the amplifier in the open position (2) and insert the cable parts in the holes (3) as marked on both sides of the amplifier. 6. Close the latch (4), mount the cover (5). 3 2 5 4 1 Page 4 T09137 Adjustment 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. Turn the power on. Place a sheet with OMR-codes in the machine with the code under the OMR-reader. Adjust the sheet so that one bar of the code is exactly under the green light (1). Turn the potentiometer (2) clockwise until both the red and green LED are lit. Then turn the potentiometer counterclockwise until the green LED goes out. Continue turning the potentiometer carefully counterclockwise until also the red LED goes out. Continue turning the potentiometer counterclockwise 30 degrees more.The calibration of the OMR-reader is now finished. 6. Enter the service mode by pressing the ”ESC”, ”OK” and down button simultaneously (3). Set OMR installed by pressing the down button one time and then pressing the OK button. At the same time the version of OMR program will be displayed. Leave the Service mode by pressing the ESC button. 7. Enter the menu “Job setup” and select OMR “ON” to run sheets with OMR-code or “OFF” to run sheet feeding. 1 2 3 Page 5
