Introduction The OnQ Digital Cable Bypass Kit, OnQ P/N 364557-01, is used to allow in-house modulated signals to be viewed on TV’s with digital set top boxes for general CATV viewing. 2. Description The Digital Cable Bypass Kit includes channel 2-4 notch filter, two (2) 2:1 splitter/combiners and two (2) 9” coax jumper cable assemblies. (The notch filter blocks channels 2-4, but allows channels 5 and higher to pass.) 3. Installation - Digital Bypass Kit installs in the room with the digital set top box. A. Connect the cable from the outlet to the “IN” port of 1st 2:1 splitter/combiners. B. Connect the “IN” port of the notch filter to the “OUT” port of the 1st splitter using one of the supplied coax jumpers. C. Connect the “OUT” port of the notch filter to the “OUT” port of the 2nd splitter using the other coax jumper assembly. (This 2nd splitter is actually used as combiner.) D. Connect the “OUT” of the 1st splitter (for the wall outlet) to the “CABLE IN” of the set top box. E. Connect the “TO TV” port from the set top box to the other “OUT” port on the splitter/combiner. F. Connect the splitter/combiner “IN” port to the TV. G. Verify that the in-house modulated signal is clear and visible on the appropriate channel. Tune TV to channel 3 or 4 and verify set top box can tune and pre-set all channels. OnQ “recommends” a two (2) channel separation. NOTE 1: Cables from wall, to and from set top box and to TV, must be field built or supplied. NOTE 2: Low Pass Filters may be required to insert in-house modulate signals. OnQ Low Pass Filters, P/N 364456-02 (5-560MHz) and 364456-03 (5-750MHz) are sold separately. P/N 364456-02 allows channels 2-79 to pass and blocks channels 80 and higher. P/N 364456-03 allows channels 2-116 to pass and blocks channel 117 and higher. IS-0184 Rev. B Page 1 of 1
