Installation Instructions DIGITAL THERMOSTAT 53DFS250-FS Heat Cool and Cooling Only STEP #1 : A. Proper installation of the thermostat will be accomplished by following these step by step instructions. Turn the power on to the system. 3 Conductor 18 gage unshielded cable from the thermostat to the remote sensor. B. Press the MODE button until the HEAT icon appears on the display. Press the MODE button and the COOL icon appears on the display. Press the up/down buttons until the set point temperature is 10 degrees below room temperature. The unit should turn on. NOTE: Most equipment has a time delay between cool and heat cycles. 2 Conductor 18 gage unshielded cable from the Time Clock to the Thermostat Dry Contacts. TROUBLESHOOTING SYMPTOM The air conditioning does not attempt to turn on. C O HIGH FAN G2 G1 REVERSING VALVE HEAT H2 LO FAN COMPRESSOR POWER R COMMON Y 8 Conductor 18 gage unshielded cable from the thermostat to the equipment. The display is blank. CAUSE The compressor timer lockout may prevent the air conditioner from turning on for a period of time. Lack of proper power. REMEDY Consult the Owner’s Manual in the setup section to defeat the cycles per hour and compressor time guard. Make sure power is turned on; confirm 24 vac between R and C. NOTE: H2 connection is not required for cooling only systems.
