CLIP Remove the left side lower cover (one clip, one retaining clip, and one stud). STUD SECURITY HARNESS UNIT MICROPHONE CLIP 4319030B INSTALLATION Customer Information: The information in this installation instruction is intended for use only by skilled technicians who have the proper tools, equipment, and training to correctly and safely add equipment to your vehicle. These procedures should not be attempted by “do-it-yourselfers.” 1. Make sure you have the anti-theft code for the radio, and write down the radio station presets. 2. Remove the four selftapping screws, and disengage the two retaining clips, then pull out the center lower cover toward you. Remove the clip from the vehicle’s harness, disconnect the two vehicle harness connectors, and remove the center lower cover. CUP HOLDER VEHICLE CONNECTORS 7. CENTER LOWER COVER Pull out the door opening trim at the left kick panel. Remove the left kick panel (three clips). 4603030B 2 CLIPS 6. 3 CLIPS DOOR OPENING TRIM Remove the lower cover at the driver’s side (one self-tapping screw, seven clips, and three retaining tabs). AII 41835 (0906) 3 of 8 Routing the Security Harness 9. 10. Secure the security harness to the vehicle harness with one wire tie. Plug the security harness 6-pin connector into the fuse box 6-pin connector. VEHICLE HARNESS WIRE TIE SECURITY HARNESS SECURITY HARNESS SECURITY HARNESS 6-PIN CONNECTOR 4319070B 11. Route the ground terminal from the security harness down below the fuse box. FUSE BOX 4319050B NOTE: If another accessory is already plugged into the 6-pin connector, remove the dummy connector from the other accessory harness and plug the security harness into that connector. Get the ground bolt from the kit, and install the ground bolt with the security harness ground terminal to secure the upper hood opener. AII 41835 (0906) © 2009 American Honda Motor Co., Inc. - All Rights Reserved. 13. Secure the ground terminal from the security harness to the vehicle harness with two wire ties. 15. Continue routing the security harness along the vehicle frame, and secure it with one wire tie. Wrap one wire tie with clip around the security harness and attach the wire tie with clip to the hole in the vehicle frame. Route the security harness up along the vehicle harness, and secure it to the vehicle harness with one wire tie. 4319110B Installing the Control Unit 16. Install the control unit bracket to the hole in the vehicle frame using the 6 x 16 mm flange bolt and flange nut. AII 41835 (0906) 5 of 8 17. Install the control unit to the control unit bracket. 21. Route the microphone cable through the hole in the driver’s lower cover, and seat the microphone flush in the cover. CONTROL UNIT BRACKET DRIVER’S LOWER COVER MICROPHONE MICROPHONE JACK CONTROL UNIT SECURITY HARNESS 18-PIN CONNECTOR 4319130B DRIVER’S LOWER COVER MICROPHONE 18. Plug the security harness 18-pin connector into the control unit. Installing the Microphone 19. On the back of the driver’s lower cover, measure and mark the cover using a felt-tip pen at the measurements shown. 22. Attach a wire tie clip the microphone cable at the indicated position. DRILL (First drill with a 3 mm drill bit, and finish with an 8 mm drill bit.) While wearing eye protection, drill an 8 mm hole through the marked location. First drill with a 3 mm drill bit, then finish with an 8 mm drill bit. While holding the driver’s lower cover near the dashboard, attach the wire tie with clip into the vehicle bracket. 26. Install the 2 A fuse in the fuse box in the location shown. FUSE BOX MICROPHONE JACK CONTROL UNIT 2 A FUSE WIRE TIE WITH CLIP DRIVER’S LOWER COVER 2219080T 4319171B 27. Attach the 2 A fuse label to the No. 33 slot on the fuse box cover. 24. Plug the microphone jack into the control unit. 25. Bundle the excess microphone cable, and secure the excess cable to the security harness with one wire tie. Check that all wire harnesses are routed properly and all connectors are plugged in. 29. Reinstall all removed parts. 30. Reconnect the negative cable to the battery. 31. Enter the customer’s radio anti-theft code, and reset the radio station presets. 32. Reset the clock. 33. Check operation of the security system according to the security system owner’s manual provided. NOTE: Whenever the battery is disconnected, the driver’s AUTO function is disabled. 34. Start the engine. Push down on the driver’s window switch until the window is fully open, then hold the switch for 2 seconds or more. 35. Pull up on the driver’s window switch to close the window completely, then hold the switch for 2 seconds or more. 36.
