OU T OU T OU T E G 2-Way Signal Splitter H OU T G F IN IN E Ethernet (or USB) Cable D Gateway User Guide CD (for later reference only) OU T or OU T A OU T B Power Cable *Available when you self-install Cox High Speed Internet or provided by a Cox representative during the installation of service. 2 Choose Your Connection Type Option 2 — Gateway & TV Connection Option 1 — Gateway Only Connection 1. Connect one end of part (F) to your wall outlet. OR 1. Connect one end of part (E) to the wall outlet. Follow steps 2–3 to install the Filter for Cox Advanced TV® Plus kits. If you did not receive a Filter, proceed to step 4. 2. C  onnect the other end of part (F) to the “IN” connection of part (G). F G ETHERNET Optional 3. Connect the coaxial cable from your TV to the “OUT” connection of part (G). USB H CABLE IN 4. Connect one end of part (E) to the other “OUT” connector of part (G). Follow steps 5–6 to install the optional Filter for Cox Advanced TV® Plus kits. If you did not receive a Filter, proceed to step 7. 5. Connect part (E) to the top of part (H). +12 VDC 6. Connect the bottom of part (H) to the “Cable In” connection of part (A). OR OR 4. Connect part (E) to the “Cable In” connection of part (A). A Connect Your Gateway to Your Computer B C D 1. Connect E one end of part (C) to the Ethernet connection of part (A). F the other end of part (C) 2. Connect to your computer’s Ethernet connection. AG B C 3. Connect part (E) to the top of part (H). E E 4. You have now completed the Gateway equipment installation F process. 7. Connect part (E) to the “Cable In” connection of part (A). 4 Your Service Is Now Connected 1. For wireless connections, Cox has customized default settings. Your SSID (wireless network name) and pass phrase are detailed on the sticker located on the bottom of your Gateway. 2. The SSID for your Gateway is the last six characters of the Wi-Fi MAC address. The pass phrase is one word and is the same as the serial number (S/N) on your Gateway. Congratulations! You have successfully completed the activation process. You can now begin using your Cox High Speed Internet. 3. Go to www.cox.com and click on My Connection. 4. Click on Internet Tools and log in to: • Set up your email account • Change your @cox.net account password • Add secondary accounts • Change secondary account passwords Cox High Speed Internet provides FREE Cox Security Suite powered by McAfee.TM Take full advantage of your anti-virus, anti-spyware, anti-spam, firewall and parental controls today.
