A0716 COMPOSITE MANHOLE INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS 1. 2. Measure height of manhole (rim and skirt), A. A Grade Level Backfill and compact around containment sump to a level equal to measurement A - 1” from grade. A-1” Compacted Backfill 3. Remove lid from manhole. Place skirt and rim assembly over sump, setting on backfill. Make sure the rim is equidistant from the sump on all sides. A=B=C=D 4. Measure to ensure top of rim is 1” above grade. 5. Place a level across top of manhole, two planes, to ensure rim and skirt is level. Shim as required. 6. Install lid. Determine thickness of concrete pad. Add backfill as required. Install Lid LID MUST BE IN PLACE WHEN POURING CONCRETE TO PREVENT OUT-OF-ROUNDNESS OF RIM. 7. Pour concrete around manhole assembly. 8. Make sure concrete completely fills any air cavity under rim. Smooth concrete from top of manhole rim, tapering out to grade to establish 1” crown. 9. Lift and reset lid to ensure lid opens and closes freely. If interference is encountered, remove lid and use necessary method to expand the deformed dimension of rim. 10. Replace lid.
