Step 2: Assemble the Antenna The Remote Antenna can be mounted onto a pole or a wall. Follow the appropriate mounting instructions to install the Remote Antenna in the desired location. WARNING Before mounting the antenna, check for potential power wire hazards. Keep the antenna a safe distance away from nearby wires. MOUNTING TO A POLE(Refer to Figure 2) When mounting the Remote Antenna to a post or pole, the post or pole’s diameter can be up to 2 inches. If the diameter is larger than 2 inches, mount the antenna to a wall (see Mounting to A Wall, below). 1 Using of the supplied U-bolt, nuts, and washers, attach the Base Assembly to the designated post or pole. 2 Attach the vertical antenna whip. 3 Connect the three ground plane radials. 4 Connect one end of the coaxial cable to the bottom of the Base Assembly and the other end to the system’s receiver. 1147F1 Figure 2: Pole Mount MOUNTING TO A WALL(Refer to Figure 3) If you are mounting the Remote Antenna to a wall, mount the antenna high enough on the wall to achieve optimum range, but leave enough clearance to permit the vertical whip to stand freely. 1 Use two #10 wood screws (not supplied) to attach the Base Assembly to the desired wall or large diameter post. 2 Attach the vertical antenna whip. 3 Connect three of the ground plane radials. 4 Connect one end of the coaxial cable to the bottom of the Base Assembly and the other end to the system’s receiver. 1147F2 Figure 3: Wall Mount Doc 6001147 Rev C
