RF Chime Receiver Unit The upgrade kit is intended to be used in conjunction with the Clipsal 754 Series Infrascan Outdoor Motion Sensor product range only. The unit is a wireless alarm that is designed to emit an audible alert in response to movement detected by the motion sensor. The unit is battery powered and retrofittable – no extra wiring is required. Simply plug in the RF Transmitter, and the portable Chime Receiver Unit will automatically alert you to any external activation of the 754 Series Motion Sensor. RF Transmitter Module Features: • Wireless / RF Accessory Kit • Retrofittable Upgrade to suit 754 Series Motion Sensors • Six User Selectable Alert Tones when PIR Detects Motion (Including various Chimes, Knock-Knock, Sonar, Barking Dog) • Snooze Function Incorporated • 100metre Wireless Transmission Range, 433MHz • Battery Operated (3xAA Cell, not included) • Indoor Use Only Note: The upgrade kit is intended to be used in conjunction with the Clipsal 754 Series Infrascan Outdoor Motion Sensor product range only. Isolate power from your 754 Series Outdoor Motion Sensor. 2. Remove the rubber bung from the underside of the detector. 3. Insert the RF Transmitter Module into the connection socket. 4. Turn the mains power back on to the sensor. 5. The unit will then go through the warm-up sequence and the Transmitter will automatically begin to transmit a signal. RF Transmitter Installation 2.2 Select a Location for the Chime Receiver 1. Position the Chime Receiver Unit in the desired location up to 100 metres away from the RF Transmitter. Take into account the path between the Transmitter and Receiver – line of sight is not required, however it is important to note that objects in between may reduce the maximum transmission distance achievable. Metallic objects shield RF signals and should be avoided. 2. The Chime Receiver can be placed anywhere within the home. It can be used purely as a free-standing mobile sounder, or it can be fixed in a permanent position by using the wall mounting bracket supplied. 2.3 Install the Chime Receiver Batteries 1. Unclip the battery compartment on the bottom of the Chime Receiver Unit. 2. Insert 3 x AA batteries (not supplied). 3. Replace the battery compartment cover. 4. Installation is complete! 4 of 12 © Clipsal Australia Pty Ltd 754RFKIT Wireless Alarm Upgrade Kit Installation Instructions 3.0 Operation and Testing 3.1 Power on Demonstration 1. When the batteries are first inserted the Chime Alert Unit will cycle through the available sounds. Sounds Options: Ding Dong ➔ Sonar Sound ➔ Knock Knock ➔ Barking Dog ➔ Alarm / Siren 2. You can press one of the buttons at any time to stop the demonstration. 3.2 Linking the Transmitter and Receiver 1. Ensure that the power to the Motion Sensor unit that has the Transmitter fitted to it is switched ON. 2. Activate the Motion Sensor so that the Transmitter will broadcast a signal. 3. The Chime Receiver should respond with the Ding Dong sound, and the red LED will blink quickly as indication that the Motion Sensor is communicating with it. 4. Activate the Motion Sensor a few more times to ensure that the Chime Receiver is responding reliably, and has good RF reception with the Transmitter. 5. You can choose to leave this sound selection (Ding Dong), or change it to a desired sound by pressing the “NOTE” button to scroll through the available sound options. 6. At the required sound, press the “TOOL” button for more than 1 second to select that sound, and exit from Programming Mode. A single “bi” tone will be heard indicating that the programmed tone has been successfully changed. The unit is now in Normal Mode and is ready for use. Once all tones have played, all Transmitter links to that Receiver have been erased. 3.8 Linking Multiple Transmitter Units to a Single Chime Receiver Unit Each Chime Receiver is capable of responding to multiple Transmitter Modules. This is useful if you have a number of Motion Sensors throughout the installation, and require a single Chime Unit to alert the occupant of movement. For example, you can have a Motion Sensor at the front door and another at the back door, both of which communicate with a single Chime Receiver. The Chime Receiver has a default sequence for additional Transmitters linked to it: Transmitters Linked 1st Ding Dong 2nd Sonar Sound 3rd Knock Knock 4th Barking Dog 5th Barking Dog 6th Barking Dog A maximum of SIX RF Transmitters can be linked to each Chime Receiver. To link additional RF Transmitter units to the Chime Receiver, follow the procedure described in Section 3.2, and repeat for each additional Transmitter. Be sure to activate only ONE Transmitter at a time. If necessary, switch power to other 754 Series Motion Sensors OFF whilst programming. 3.9 Linking Multiple Chime Receiver Units Multiple Chime Receiver units can be programmed to respond to each Transmitter. This might be useful in a larger house, where you may not be able to hear the Receiver tone from the other end of the house. To link another Chime Receiver, repeat the steps described in Sections 3.2 and 3.8 until all Transmitters and Receivers have been link as required. © Clipsal Australia Pty Ltd 7 of 12 754RFKIT Wireless Alarm Upgrade Kit Installation Instructions 4.0 Troubleshooting PROBLEM SOLUTION Chime does not activate Ensure the batteries are fitted correctly.
