PI-502 Post Inserter INSTALLATION MANUAL Applied Machines: FS-607/FS-520/FS-612/FS-531/FS-532 Note: • The MK-732 is required for installing the PI-502 to the FS-532. (The installation procedure is described in this installation manual: refer to after page E-5) • When installing the PI-502 to the Finisher, install the PI-502 first then install the Finisher to the machine. • Be sure to install the punch kit first if it is installed at the same time with the punch kit.

Note: When handling the PI-502, grip it as shown in the illustration below.
• Installation procedure for [PI-502+(FS-607/FS-520/FS-612/FS-531)] 1. Remove the top cover from the Finisher. (1) Remove the two screw covers at the rear side of the top cover, then remove the screws.

1. Turn off the machine and unplug the power cord from the power outlet. 2. Remove protective tape and protective material.

(2) Open the front door and remove the 3 screws.

2. Reinstall the screws removed in step 1-(1).
4. Install the PI-502. (1) Install the PI-502 on top of the Finisher. Note: • Be sure to install the PI-502 by inserting the PI-502 into the positioning screw which has been installed to the top of the finisher. • Then slide the PI-502 so that the heads of the positioning screws are locked over the narrow parts of the keyhole slots. Check that there is no gap between the PI502 and the Finisher in the rear side exterior panel. If there is the gap, install the PI-502 again.

(2) Connect the PI-502 connector to the connector at the top front of the Finisher.

1. Enter Service mode. Note: Refer to procedures in the Service Manual to enter into the Service Mode. 2. [Service Mode Menu screen] Touch “Finisher Adjustment”. 3. [Finisher adjustment screen] Touch “Paper Inserter Tray size Adj”. 4. [PI1 Tray size Adjustment screen] is indicated. 5. Select either [A4] or [8.5 x 11] on the screen and set the selected size paper by short edge feeding in the PI upper tray. 6. Touch “Start”. 7. When adjustment is completed, “Completed” appears on the message display. 8. Touch “Next” to indicate [PI2 tray size Adjustment screen]. 9. Select either [A4] or [8.5 x 11] on the screen and set the selected size paper by short edge feeding in the PI lower tray. 10. Touch “Start”. 11. When adjustment is completed, “Completed” appears on the message display. 12. Verify that each paper size can be properly detected.

5. Install the wire bundle cover /1 to the PI-502 connector. (Truss screw M4x6 Black) 6. Install the screw cover on the top front of the Finisher.
For FS-612/FS-531 Step 1. Enter Service mode. Note: Refer to procedures in the Service Manual to enter into the Service Mode. 2. [Service Mode Menu screen] Touch “Finisher Adjustment”. 3. [Finisher Adjustment screen] Touch “Post Inserter Tray size”. 4. [PI1 Tray Size Adjustment screen] is indicated. 5. Select either [A4] or [8.5 x 11] on the screen and set the selected size paper by short edge feeding in the PI upper tray. 6. Touch “Start”. 7. When adjustment is completed, “Completed” appears on the message display. 8. Touch “Next” to indicate [PI2 tray size Adjustment screen]. 9. 7. Install the Finisher on the machine (refer to the Finisher Installation manual). 8. Plug in the power cord and turn the Main power switch ON of the machine.

7.Install the release lever. (TP screw (black) M3x6: 1 pc.: bundled in the MK732)
(3) Install the MK-732. (TP screw (black) M3x6: 4 pcs.: bundled in the MK-732) Note: Be sure to install the MK-732 aligning with the bosses. (4) Connect a connector. Boss

(3) Fix the PI-502 with the screws. (TP screw M4x6: 3 pcs.: bundled in the PI-502) Note: Be sure to use the knob screw for screw “a” when installing the punch kit.
2. Install the PI-502. (1) Install the PI-502 on top of the Finisher. Note: • Be sure to install PI-502 by inserting PI-502 into the positioning screw which has been installed to the top of the finisher. • Then slide the PI-502 so that the heads of the positioning screws are locked over the narrow parts of the keyhole slots. Check that there is no gap between the PI502 and the Finisher in the rear side exterior panel. If there is the gap, install the PI-502 again.

4. If the GP is installed to the finisher, put a Label /1 on the position of the PI shown in the picture.

5. Install the Finisher on the machine (refer to the Finisher Installation manual). 6. Plug in the power cord and turn the Main power switch ON of the machine. 7. [Service Mode Menu screen] Touch “Finisher Adjustment”. 3. [Service Mode Menu screen] Touch “Stapler(PI) Adjustment”. 4. [Staple Finisher(PI) Adjustment Menu screen] Touch “Tray Size Adjustment”. 5. Select “Upper Tray” and then select “A4” or “8.5x11”. 6. Set A4 or 8.5x11 paper to the inserter tray (upper). 7. Touch “Start”. 8. When adjustment is completed, “Completed” appears on the message display. 9. Select “Lower Tray” and then select “A4” or “8.5x11”. 10. Set A4 or 8.5x11 paper to the inserter tray (lower). 11. Touch “Start”. 12. When adjustment is completed, “Completed” appears on the message display. 13. Verify that each paper size can be properly detected.
