Installation CD28-41-70 Series Mopole™ Antennas 148-174 MHz The CD28-41-70 antenna is an end fed dipole (Mopole) which is ground plane independent. The antenna uses a tapered 17-7PH stainless steel radiating section in which the feed design the terminated RG58 forms part of the high impedance matching circuit. The matching circuit which is enclosed in a high impact ABS housing. For use with RG58C/U cable only Note: No D.C. continuity exists between the centre conductor of the cable and the radiating element. A short exists from the cable shield to the radiating element. To Terminate The Antenna: 1. Remove approximately 80mm of the outer PVC jacket of the RG58 cable. 2. Trim the exposed cable braid shield so that approximately 10-15mm remains showing. 3. Fold the remaining braid shield back over the outer PVC jacket of the cable as shown. 4. Trim the exposed inner conductor, complete with insulation to the EXACT length shown below. 5. Screw the prepared cable into the coil housing until the cable ‘bottoms’. The cable is now terminated. No soldering of the conductors is necessary. Please note the D.C. continuity checks above. 6. Trim whip top to frequency using an inline VSWR meter.
