OWNER’S MANUAL InstaLLock Connector Wall Plate Kit ™
For use with one or two InstaLLock™ Connectors for new construction or retrofit Installations Reasons for using the InstaLLock™ Connector Wall Plate Kit Provides a clean and convenient way to terminate and connect up to 8 pairs of speakers to a SpeakerCraft Speaker Selector. Once installed, the SpeakerCraft InstaLLock™ Extension Harness (part number ILL9000) can be used between the wall plate and SpeakerCraft audio components. Notes: •When using with one InstaLLock™ Connector one InstaLLock™ Decorator Insert and one blank Decorator Insert are used. •When using with two InstaLLock™ Connectors both InstaLLock™ Decorator Inserts are used. •To simplify the installation instructions; only one connector is shown in the illustrations. New Construction Installation •Locate the area that you want the wall plate and pull the speaker wires to that location. •Connect the InstaLLock™ Connector (included with SpeakerCraft speaker selectors or available separately) to the speaker wires following the instructions that come with the InstaLLock™ Connector. Be sure to leave enough wire so that the entire connector can be pulled out through the mounting location once the kit is installed. •Mount the 2-Gang Ring in one of the following ways. 1) Against the stud (Figure #1). Screw the 2-Gang Ring in place by using the side holes on the ring. 2) Between the studs (Figure #2). Place the New Construction Wings onto the 2-Gang Ring. Secure the wings to the studs by screwing, stapling or nailInsert wings into ing through the wings into the studs. slots in Gang Ring •Place the small plug end of the InstaLLock™ Connector into the protective mounting slot at the rear of the ring (one in each slot if installing 2 connectors). This will keep the connector clean and secure until it is ready to be placed into the InstaLLock™ Decorator Insert. (See Figure #3) •Drywall around the opening. •Once the wall is finished the location is ready for the placement of the inserts and wall plate. •Remove the connector from the protective slot and snap it into the InstaLLock™ Decorator Insert. (See Figure #4) If you are using 2 connectors do this for each. •With the InstaLLock™ Connector snapped in place, screw the InstaLLock™ Decorator Insert(s) into the 2-Gang Ring. If you are only installing one connector place the Blank Decorator Insert on the unused side. •Screw the Double Gang Decorator Wall Plate into place. •You now have a finished plate ready for the SpeakerCraft InstaLLock™ Extension Harness.

OWNER’S MANUAL InstaLLock™ Connector Wall Plate Kit Retrofit Installation •Using the 2-Gang Ring as a guide, make sure that there will be no studs or obstructions in the location you wish to mount the ring. We highly recommend using a good stud-finder tool for this procedure. •Once you are sure there will be no obstructions where you plan to place the 2-Gang Ring cut a 3 3/4” high by 4” wide hole in the drywall. •Pull all of the speaker wires through the hole you have cut. •Connect the InstaLLock™ Connector (available separately) to the speaker wires following the instructions that come with the connector. Be sure to leave enough wire so that the entire connector can be easily pulled out through the mounting location once the kit is installed. •Mount the Retrofit Wings into the 2-Gang Ring. (Figure #5) •Thread the InstaLLock™ Connector through the ring. Place the ring into the opening and then bend the tabs down, securing the bracket into place. (Figure #6) •Snap the InstaLLock™ Connector into the InstaLLock™ Decorator Insert. (See Figure #4) If you are using 2 connectors do this for each. •With the InstaLLock™ Connector snapped in place, screw the Decorator Insert(s) into the 2-Gang Ring (Figure #4). If you are only installing one connector plate screw the Blank Decorator Insert on one side. •Screw the Double Gang Decorator Plate into place. •You now have a finished plate ready for the SpeakerCraft InstaLLock™ Extension Harness.

Limited Lifetime Warranty Defective products must be shipped, together with proof of purchase, prepaid insured to the SpeakerCraft Authorized Dealer from whom they were purchased, or to the SpeakerCraft factory at the address listed on this installation instruction manual. Freight collect shipments will be refused. It is preferable to ship this product in the original shipping container to lessen the chance of transit damage. In any case, the risk or loss or damage in transit is to be borne by the purchaser. If upon examination at the Factory or SpeakerCraft Authorized Dealer it is determined that the unit was defective in materials or workmanship at any time during this warranty period, SpeakerCraft or the SpeakerCraft Authorized Dealer will, at its option, repair or replace this product at no additional charge, except as set forth below. If this model is no longer available and can not be repaired effectively, SpeakerCraft, at its sole option may replace the unit with a current model of equal or greater value. In some cases where a new model is substituted, a modification to the mounting surface may be required. If mounting surface modification is required, SpeakerCraft assumes no responsibility or liability for such modification. All replaced parts and product become the property of SpeakerCraft Inc. Products replaced or repaired under this warranty will be returned to the original retail purchaser, within a reasonable time, freight prepaid. This warranty does not include service or parts to repair damage caused by accident, disaster, misuse, abuse, negligence, inadequate packing or shipping procedures, commercial use, voltage inputs in excess of the rated maximum of the unit, or service, repair or modification of the product which has not been authorized or approved by SpeakerCraft. This warranty also excludes normal cosmetic deterioration caused by environmental conditions. This warranty will be void if the Serial number on the product has been removed, tampered with or defaced. This warranty is in lieu of all other expressed warranties. If the product is defective in materials or workmanship as warranted above, the purchaser's sole remedy shall be repair or replacement as provided above. In no event will SpeakerCraft be liable for any incidental or consequential damages arising out of the use or inability to use the product, even if SpeakerCraft Inc. or a SpeakerCraft Inc. Authorized Dealer has been advised of the possibility of such damages, or for any claim by any other party. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of consequential damages, so the above limitation and exclusion may not apply. All implied warranties on the product are limited to the duration of this expressed warranty. Some states do not allow limitation on the length of an implied Warranty. If the original retail purchaser resides in such a state, this limitation does not apply.
