This will allow you to easily explain them to your child in a way that is easy for them to understand. Note: These instructions are also stamped onto the back of the product for future reference. Please note: BOB'S CALL AND LEARN PHONE will not understand a response from your child if it is made while the unit is talking or making a sound. Please be sure not to answer any questions while the unit is talking or making a sound or it may not understand your response. Change the batteries when Bob's voice becomes garbled or seems to be slowing down during play, or when pressing a button does not trigger a response from the unit. WHEN TO REPLACE BATTERIES To ensure proper function: -- Do not mix old and new batteries. -- Do not mix alkaline, standard or rechargeable batteries. -- Battery installation should be done by an adult. -- Non-rechargeable batteries are not to be recharged. -- Rechargeable batteries are to be removed from the toy before being charged (if removable). -- Rechargeable batteries are only to be charged under adult supervision (if removable). -- Only batteries of the same or equivalent type as recommended are to be used. -- Batteries are to be inserted with the correct polarity. -- Exhausted batteries are to be removed from the toy. -- The supply terminals are not to be short-circuited. NUMBER BUTTONS ON TAKING CARE OF BOB’S CALL AND LEARN PHONE To protect your BOB’S CALL AND LEARN PHONE, follow these instructions: OFF Prevent spills of food and beverage on the unit. Do not submerge the product in water. If the product needs to be cleaned, wipe gently with a barely damp, soft cloth. You need to set the phone receiver and phone transmitter within a short distance of each other so that the "IR" can work properly! ON Locate the button in the palm of Bob's left hand (Bob facing away from you). Press this button to turn on Bob. NUMBER BUTTONS Do not throw or kick the product, and do not push sharp objects through the speaker openings. HOW TO PLAY BOB’S CALL AND LEARN PHONE combines the fun of a telephone with the friendly world of BOB THE BUILDER to encourage learning of numbers. Your child's ability to concentrate and listen will also be enhanced! With lots of "orders" for you to fill, the learning fun goes on for hours! Use the NUMBER buttons (1-10) to learn all about numbers from Bob! Turn ON the game. OFF You'll hear Bob say, "HELLO, I'M BOB! CAN YOU DO IT? YES YOU CAN! WE NEED SOME BUILDING SUPPLIES. WE BETTER CALL IN AN ORDER. YOU CAN HELP. HERE PAL, YOU PUNCH IN THE ORDER ON THE PHONE KEYPAD." Press this button to turn the unit OFF. INSERTING THE BATTERIES Important Note: Battery installation should be done by an adult. Then Bob will ask you something, such as, "HOW MANY BOXES OF NAILS DO WE NEED? TOUCH A NUMBER." 1. Just as importantly, when you make an incorrect response, Bob encourages you to try again. For added clarity, Bob also repeats the number selected. Press the "ON" button to restart the toy. - Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna. - Increase the separation between the equipment and receiver. - Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different from that to which the receiver is needed. - Consult the dealer or an experienced radio/TV technician for help. NOTE: Your child needs to wait until after Bob has stopped talking before pressing a button on the phone. Press or activity made while Bob is still speaking will not register.
