Standard Configuration (Up to 8 Outputs) - Figure 1 DataComm Electronics, Inc. 6349 Peachtree Street Norcross, GA 30071-1725 888.223.7977 770.662.8205 www.datacommelectronics.com
Parts Included: 1. 1 x 8 HDTV Adjustable Distribution Amplifier 2. Power Supply 3. Screwdriver DataComm Electronics’ 1 x 8 HDTV Adjustable Distribution Amplifier is designed to identify the range of dB strength received from the incoming cable and/or antenna signal. This unique feature along with independent adjustable attenuations on each of the 8 outputs ensures optimum signals are achieved for true HDTV quality at every location.
Installation Instructions: 1. Decide how the product will be mounted – wall, rack or enclosure. Wall Mount – Two Options a. Remove the four plastic snap-in grommets and screw the product into a solid surface. b. Utilize the snap-in grommets with DataComm Electronics’ Part# 70-0019 Wall and/or Rack Mounting Adaptor to enhance the flexibility of the adjustable grid system.
Expanded Configuration (Up to 64 Outputs) - Figure 2
Rack Mount Predominantly used for commercial or large residential applications, DataComm Electronics’ Part# 70-0019 Wall and/or Rack Mounting Adaptor easily mounts into a standard EIA rated rack which will accept any 70-series module. Enclosure Mount – Two Options a. Utilize DataComm Electronics’ structured enclosures. b. Purchase DataComm Electronics’ Part# 70-0041 Universal Adaptor Bracket, which easily mounts into most major competitors’ enclosures. 2. Connect the incoming cable or antenna coax into the input port. 3. Connect the outgoing coax cable to the output port to distribute the signal to the eight (8) TV locations or expandable configuration, i.e. – secondary distribution amplifiers (see Figure 2). 4. Connect the power supply and confirm that any one of the three lights is on. This will confirm that your source is supplying a dB level to the Distribution Amplifier (see How to Adjust and Determine Signal Strength). Warranty How to Adjust and Determine Signal Strength: Adjustable Attenuation (see Figure 1) Use to adjust the signal strength of each run based on distance. RF Range Indicator (see Figure 1) Helps identify that your service provider’s signal strength meets or exceeds minimum requirements by the color of the light that is on: Yellow
Below recommended signal strength. Contact your service provider (Low).
Green
Ideal signal strength (Best).
Red
Exceeds recommended signal strength. This can be corrected by adjusting the attenuation (High).
