Introduction Before operating this device, please read these instructions completely and save this manual for future use. This device is a compact, lightweight and easy to use which allows you to get quick and easy readings at home, at work or almost anywhere! 2. Medical disclaimer This device and manual are not meant to be a substitute for advice provided by your doctor or other medical professional. If you have or suspect that you have a medical problem, promptly consult your healthcare provider. 3. Intended Use Intended use of this device is limited to measurements of systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure and 2 pulse (measured at the arm using an oscillometric measurement method). This product is recommended for use by people over the age of 18 and is made for home, not clinical use. 4. Blood Pressure Chart So you've measured your blood pressure but how do you know if your blood pressure is normal? The World Health Organization (WHO) and the International Society of Hypertension (ISH) have developed the below blood pressure chart/classification system to define different types of blood pressure. 3 4 5.Parts identification 5 6.Battery Installation / Replacement ● ● ● Remove the cover from the battery compartment and Insert 4 “AA” size alkaline batteries as shown. Be sure to pay attention to the polarity of the batteries so that the + (positive) and – (negative) marks must match those in the battery compartment. If the low Battery indicator appears on the display, replace the batteries. ATTENTION: Batteries must be disposed of properly, and should not be thrown out. 6 7. Attaching Pressure Cuff a. Press your brachial artery with two fingers approximately one inch above the elbow on the inside of your left arm. b. Determine where your strongest pulse is. Slide the end of the arm cuff furthest from the tube through the metal ring to a loop. The smooth cloth should be on the inside of the cuff. c. If the cuff is located correctly, the Velcro will be on the outside of the cuff and the metal ring will not touch your skin. 7 d. Put your left arm through the cuff loop. The bottom of the cuff should be approximately one inch above elbow. The cuff should lie over the brachial artery on the inside of the arm. 8 e. Pull the cuff so that the top and bottom edges are tightened around your arm. f. When the cuff is positioned properly, press the Velcro firmly against the pile side of the cuff. g. Sit on a chair and place your arm on the table so that the cuff is at the same level as your heart. 9 h. Relax your arm and turn your arm upward. i. j. Make sure there are no kinks in the air tube. Remain still and do not talk during measurement. 10 8. How to measure a) Set or adjust the clock: MODE key: This key is used to adjust the time. Press the MODE key once and the HOUR number will flash. Press the SET key to adjust the HOUR accordingly. Press the MODE key again and the MINUTE number will flash. Press the SET key to adjust the MINUTE setting. Press the MODE key once more to finish setting the time. If no key is pressed, the machine will return to its original status after flashing for 15 seconds. b) Measurement procedures: START/STOP key: This key is used to start or stop the testing of blood pressure and pulse. ● ● Hold down the START/STOP key for 3 seconds and the LCD will show date and time. When the “00” is displayed, the device is ready for measurement. Press START/STOP key again, and the 11 ● ● ● ● pressure cuff inflates and the symbols will appear indicating that measurement is in progress. Once the pulse is detected. the heart symbol “” will flash along with “BI---BI” sound until the systolic, diastolic and pulse data are displayed. Once you hear two more sounds the cuff pressure will deflate and the measurement is completed. For successive reading, wait 5 to 8 minutes between measurements. This device can save up to 60 sets of data. The newest data will replace the oldest data once the memory is full. When no START/STOP key is pressed, the device will be shut down automatically after 60 seconds. c) Stored data recall RECALL key: Press down this key to start the machine. Once you start the machine the 12 latest data will be shown. You can use the RECALL key to look over the stored data sets one by one, which will show the time, pressure and pulse count. Note: To stop measuring or exit any mode in process, press “START/STOP” button. 9. a) b) c) d) Care and Maintenance For cleaning, use a soft, lightly moistened cloth. Do not use petroleum sprits, thinners or similar solvents. Do not wash the cuff Avoid storing the unit where it will be exposed to direct sunlight, dust or high humidity. 10. Troubleshooting ● When an error occurs (“Err”) no data will be saved and the following messages may be displayed. 13 LCD display 11. Display meaning Reason and debug Err 01 No pulse is detected Err 02 Too many distractions Err 05 Data error Re-wrap the cuff and restart Keep good pose and remain calm during retesting Data range error. The data gap between diastolic and systolic is either above 150 or less than 15 Factors affecting the measurement of blood pressure Blood pressure can be irregular in the following circumstances: ● After eating a meal, drinking wine, coffee or 14 ● ● ● ● ● ● ● black tea After smoking, exercising or bathing If you are talking or moving while the measurement is taken If you are nervous or in an unstable mood If your belly is pressed while the measurement is taken If the ambient temperature is changing rapidly If you are in a moving vehicle If you measure repeatedly without adequate rest between each measurement 12.Specifications Model No. .
