HOW TO SET TIME AND CHIME

• Press S3 to show Time mode, mode prompt “TIME” will be displayed for 1 second first. • Press S2 to toggle between “Month and Day” or “Second” displays.

• Press and hold S4 for 2 seconds to enter setting mode. The hour digits start flashing. • Press S1 (forward) or S2 (reverse) to adjust the flashing digits. Press and hold S1 or S2 for fast setting. • Press S3 to select the next digits or 12/24Hr for setting. The sequence is shown as follow:

• When setting seconds, pressing S1 or S2 while the second digits count between 30 to 59 will reset the second digits to 00 and 1 will be added to the minute digits. • Year can be set from 2000 to 2049. • When setting 12/24Hr, press S1 or S2 to toggle 12-hour or 24-hour display formats. If 24-hour display format is selected, there will be no “PM” flag. • After all adjustments are completed, press S4 to exit the setting mode and weekday will be adjusted automatically. • Press S1 to toggle the chime function on or off. If the chime function is “on”, the chime icon will be shown. Setting the chime: • Press S1 to set the chime to on or off. When the chime is on, the chime icon is displayed.

CHIME ICON Remarks: 1. If the chime function is set to “on”, a “Beep” sound will be given on every full hour and there will be button confirmation sound. 2. If there is no button operation for about 3 minutes in setting mode, the watch will return back to Time mode automatically.

HOW TO PREPARE FOR HEART RATE MEASUREMENT Enter data for heart rate monitor To use the heart rate measuring function, follow these steps:

Press S3 to show Pulse mode, mode prompt “PULS” will be displayed for 1 second first. Press and hold S4 for 2 seconds to enter setting mode. Flashing “on” will be shown at the bottom row of the display. Press S1 (forward) or S2 (reverse) to set the data (flashing). Press and hold S1 or S2 for fast setting. Press S3 to select the next data for setting. The sequence is shown as follow: HEART RATE ZONE ON/OFF

Remarks: 1. If both heart rate zone and zone alarm are set to “on”, 1 “Beep” sound will be given every 5 seconds when heart rate is below “Zone Low Limit” and 2 “Beep” sounds will be given every 5 seconds when heart rate is above “Zone High Limit”. 2. If heart rate zone is set to “off”, there will be no zone alarm and “Time in Zone” will not be shown in Chronograph mode. 3. Preset “Zone High Limit” and “Zone Low Limit” are produced after sex and age are entered (or changed), the values are given according to the following formulae: Male: High Limit = 220-Age Low Limit = (220-Age)x0.7 Female: High Limit = 226-Age Low Limit = (226-Age)x0.7 User can set his own limits after entering sex and age. 4. If unit or weight is changed, the chronograph will be reset, and all data cleared, automatically. 5. Weight can be set from 20 to 299 LB (or KG). 6. Age can set from 1 to 99. 7. Both “Zone High Limit” and “Zone Low Limit” can be set from 40 to 240 BPM (Beat Per Minute). 8. If there is no button operation for about 3 minutes in setting mode, the watch will return back to Pulse mode automatically.
EQUIPPING THE TRANSMITTER (CHEST STRAP) • Attach the transmitter to the elastic strap provided. • Moisten the electrode areas on the inside of the transmitter with water as shown in the illustration.

• Attach the strap around your chest below the breast chest muscles (see illustration). Make sure that the side with the battery compartment cover is in contact with your bare skin and the arched center portion is up.
Remarks: 1. Transmitter electrodes should be moistened to ensure flawless heart rate measurement. 2. It is recommended that you wear the transmitter against your bare skin to ensure flawless operation.

• Press S3 to show Pulse mode, mode prompt “PULS” will be displayed for 1 second first. • Heart icon flashes when heart rate signal is received from the transmitter and the heart rate is shown at the middle row of the display. • If both heart rate zone and zone alarm are set to “on”, 1 “Beep” sound will be given every 5 seconds when heart rate is below “Zone Low Limit” and 2 “Beep” sounds will be given every 5 seconds when heart rate is above “Zone High Limit”. And the displays will be as follow:

Remarks: 1. If no heart rate signal is received for 1 minute, the link between the watch and the transmitter will be cut off automatically, and “- - -” (not flashing) will be shown at the middle row of the display. To re-link, press S4, and “- - -” will start flashing or heart rate will be shown. 2. Heart rate measurement will not be taken when EL back light is “on” or alarm is sounding. 3. If heart rate zone is set to “off”, there will be no zone alarm or high/low limit indication. 4. If no heart rate signal is received and there is no button operation for about 3 minutes in Pulse mode, the watch will change to Time mode automatically.

Press S3 to show Chronograph mode, mode prompt “CHRO” will be displayed for 1 second first. Heart icon flashes when heart rate signal is received from the transmitter and the heart rate is shown at the bottom row of the display. Press S1 to start the chronograph. For the first hour, 1/00-seconds is shown at the top row while minutes and seconds are shown at the middle row of the display. Then seconds is shown at the top row while hours and minutes are shown at the middle row of the display. • If both heart rate zone and zone alarm are set to “on”, 1 “Beep” sound will be given every 5 seconds when heart rate is below “Zone Low Limit” and 2 “Beep” sounds will be given every 5 seconds when heart rate is above “Zone High Limit”.And the displays will be as follow:

• Press S1 again to take split time, flashing “SPL” and taken split time will be shown for 10 seconds, and then display will show current running time of chronograph. • Press S2 to stop the chronograph. 28
• If heart rate zone is set to “on”, after the chronograph is stopped, then “Elapsed Time”, “Average Heart Rate”, “Time in Zone” and “Calorie Consumption” will be displayed sequentially, each for 5 seconds. Press S2 can run through the sequence one by one. S2 or 5 SEC AUTO

• Press S1 to re-start the chronograph or press and hold S4 for 2 seconds (“CLr” displayed) to reset the chronograph (with all data cleared) back to zeros. Remarks: 1. If no heart rate signal is received for 1 minute, the link between the watch and the transmitter will be cut off automatically, and “- - -” (not flashing) will be shown at the bottom row of the display. To re-link, press S4, and “- - -” will start flashing or heart rate will be shown. 2. Heart rate measurement will not be taken when EL back light is “on” or alarm is sounding. 3. The chronograph is of 1/00-second resolution for the first hour and 1-second resolution for the rest and with working range up to 24 hours, then the chronograph stop automatically. 4. If heart rate zone is set to “off”, there will be no zone alarm, high/low limit indication and “Time in Zone” display. 5. “Average Heart Rate” = Sum of heart rate ÷ Number of samples.

6. “Time in Zone” is the time (excluding 1/100-seconds) that the heart rate stays within the high/low limit set. 7. The “Calorie Consumption” (shown in KCAL) depends on weight and heart rate of user, and the time lasted. 8. If there is no heart rate signal received since entering Chronograph mode, bottom row shows “- - -”, then there will not be any “Average Heart Rate”, “Time in Zone” or “Calorie Consumption” display.
HOW TO SET ALARM Setting the chime: • Press S1 to set the chime to on or off. When the chime is on, the chime icon is displayed.

• Press S1 or S2 to toggle the alarm function on or off. If the alarm function is “on”, the alarm icon will be shown.

ALARMSYMBOL Remarks: 1. The alarm sounds daily for 20 seconds at alarm time if the alarm function is “on”. Press any button to stop the alarm sound. 2. The alarm function is automatically set to “on” when entering setting mode. 3. If 24-hour display format is selected for Time mode, there will be noAM flag “A” or PM flag “P” for alarm time. 4. If there is no button operation for about 3 minutes in setting mode, the watch will return back toAlarm mode automatically. How to reset the watch: • Press and hold S1, S2, S3 and S4 simultaneously for 1 second, all segments will be “off”, then release the buttons and the watch will be reset. After reset, test patterns will be displayed for a few seconds, and finally the display will be as follow:

BATTERY REPLACEMENT Replace the exhausted battery with a cell recommended as follow: 1. Watch CR2032 or equivalent. We recommend to have the watch battery changed by a watch specialist. 2. Transmitter CR2032 or equivalent. Open the battery compartment on the reverse side of the chest strap as described on the battery compartment cover. Remove the battery and install a new battery with the letters on the upper side. Close the battery compartment.
DISPOSAL / BATTERY SAFETY NOTE The battery compartment can be found on the underside of the unit. Open the battery compartment, install batteries and then close the battery compartment. Battery safety note: • Keep away from children! • Do not shorten battery! • Not rechargeable! • May explode in fire!

WARRANTY The Heart Rate Monitor PMK 20 was checked for function before shipment. To obtain service under the terms of this warranty, mail the product to the address below. Make sure to enclose a note describing the difficulty you have with the monitor and the bill of sale or cash receipt. All repairs due to defects of workmanship or material will be repaired free within 36 months from the date of purchase (date of the cash receipt/sales bill). The warranty does not apply if the monitor is used contrary to instructions, handled, stored or cleaned improperly or in any other unusual circumstances. Any further claims, e.g., claims for damages, are excluded.
