Technical data is subject to change by the LNE Test Laboratories without notice. 44 A. SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS Special precautions must be taken when you are using your electronic fan heater. Always use fuel recommended for your heater. Never use highly volatile fuel, such as, for example, petrol, due to the danger of causing a fire. Recommended fuels Petrol Avoid locations close to curtains, etc. Avoid dusty locations. Turn off heater before filling with recommended fuel Clean up any drops of fuel thoroughly To prevent fire do not fill with fuel in the room . This heater needs oxygen to function. For your safety never use the heater without ventilating the room properly. Do not obstruct Warm Air Blower or Air Intake with paper or any other materials. Special precautions must be taken when you are using your electronic fan heater 45 Turn off heater before filling with recommended fuel. Turn heater off and be sure the burner is out before going to bed or leaving the room. Turn off Unit to extinguish burner in emergency or in event of improper combustion. Keep calm. Ensure electrical socket is properly wired, and only use it for this Unit. Use heater on flat surface. Avoid surfaces subject to vibration. Never transport your heater with fuel in the fixed tank and/or in the removable fuel tank, (in a car, etc.) . Avoid locations exposed to direct sunlight. Avoid damp locations. Keep hair spray or volatile or inflammable liquids or fuels such as petrol or thinners, or other combustible materials away from the heater. 46 Do not touch blower grill while heater is on or immediately after use. (Children must be warned about this and kept under supervision). If the unit is for a child , elderly person, or handicapped person, somebody must supervise their use of the unit Service your heater regularly. Do not hang clothing near the heater, which could obstruct the air intake and outlet. Warm air could flow back and interfere with the operation of the control panel and systems. Keep all objects, such as cloth or paper, away from blower systems. Keep fingers or objects out of the air intake. Never inhale close to the air filter, when cleaning it.. Do not re-use broken or defective spare parts. All repairs must be properly completed. See your local retailer. * Avoid using hair spray containing silicone * Avoid being too close to warm air from close to the unit. Silicones may cause the unit for a long period. Clean power plug regularly. 47 B. SELECTION OF LOCATION Choose the location for your heater carefully, to get optimum performance from the Unit. SAFETY PRECAUTIONS TO BE TAKEN * Keep all obstructions and flammable materials away from the Unit, and observe the minimum distances shown on the following illustration. Keep curtains away from the Unit. Likewise, the Unit should be placed away from the wall. Failure to do so may cause overheating, triggering the safety device and automatically switching off the heater. * Place the heater on a flat surface, on the floor. * Do not place on or below an unstable shelf. * Do not use where flammable gases may be generated or may have accumulated. * Use in properly ventilated areas only. 100 CM KEEP UNIT AWAY FROM LOCATIONS WHICH ARE: * * * * * In a room with lots of people passing through, or exposed to draughts; Confined areas such as under a mantlepiece; In direct sunlight, or very dusty areas, or where the temperature tends to rise quickly. Locations more than 1,000 metres above sea level. In places where gas or chemicals are used, such as beauty salons, barber’s shops, chemical plants, laundries,etc.. OPTIMUM EFFICIENCY * A good choice is a location, near or under a window, where the heater is directly in contact with fresh air . * Air circulation in front of the heater must not be restricted by any obstacle. EXAMPLES OF DISPLAY 1) CONTROL PANEL BUTTONS a) ON/OFF button: Press to switch the heater ON and OFF. When the ON light flashes slowly the pre-heater is operating (approx. 2 minutes): when the ON light is constant the heater is operating in the ECO mode. When the ON light flashes quickly, check for faults. b) TIMER SET button: Press this button to check programme settings. c) TIMER RESET button: Press this button to make changes to programme settings. d) CHILD LOCK button: Press this button quickly 3 times to lock/unlock the control buttons. e) MODE button - When heater is off, LCD displays clock. When "MODE" button is pressed, the mode changes to "TIME SET" and "TIMER SET". CLOCK - TIME SET (TIME) TIMER SET (TM 1) - TIMER SET (TM 3) When heater is on, LCD displays temperature. When "MODE" button is pressed, the mode changes to remaining hours. Temperature - TIMER SET (TM 2) Remaining hours When switched off in SAVE mode, the LCD continues to display the temperature, even if the "MODE" button is pressed. BEFORE USING THE UNIT 1) SETTING UP THE UNIT Remove the Heater unit from the carton box and remove packing materials. 2) FUEL TO BE USED Use only uncontaminated Paraffin to BS2869:C1, or ROLF (or TOSAINE) Fuel, as recommended by the Distributor. More than 95 % of problems are due to using a wrong type of fuel. These problems are not covered by our Guarantee. Only top-quality C1 Paraffin to BS2869, or recommended Reduced Odour Liquid Fuels, with the aromatics removed and totally free of impurities (max 1 % of aromatics and a flash-point above 61°) should be used. Never use contaminated fuels, or fuels which have been chemically treated, or contain water or petrol. Your container should be clean and empty if you fill it at a retailer. No impurities or other liquids (water, diesel, petrol, etc.) should remain. You should keep a container specifically for fuel for your heater. HOW TO DISTINGUISH BETWEEN fuels suitable for your heater, and Petrol Dip a finger tip into the fuel and blow on it: Suitable fuels : Stay wet Petrol : Dries immediately FUEL STORAGE Store your fuel out of the sun and away from other heat sources. Fuel which has been stored too long loses its purity, and thus its efficiency. FILLING WITH FUEL. Even when the removable tank is out of the heater the Unit will run for a time. You should fill your Fuel Tank: − When your heater is switched OFF. − And in a place away from the heater. You must always check that the tank cap is properly fastened. Please re-fill away from any other heat source or fire. 55 WHAT IS POOR QUALITY OR IMPURE FUEL ? * Fuel which has been exposed to the sun or high humidity * Last season‘s fuel. New Winter Spring Autumn Summer * Fuel stored in a container which has not been properly closed or which lets the light through OLD * Fuel which has been mixed with some water or dust or a different type of fuel other than C1 Paraffin or recommended fuels. Water, dust, petrol, oil,... * Poor quality fuel has an acid smell. * Use up fuel within the season. WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU FILL WITH POOR QUALITY FUEL? * Tar forms in the evaporator, and ignition and switch off become difficult. * May cause abnormal combustion, and shut off during use. WHAT TO DO IF YOU INADVERTENTLY USE POOR QUALITY FUEL? * Drain the fuel from both the removable tank and the fixed tank and flush with clean fuel 2 or 3 times. Note : Repairs or service for problems caused by poor or impure fuel will be charged to the user, even during the warranty period. 56 3) FUEL FILLING Procedure for filling with fuel : PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT THE UNIT IS TURNED OFF, AND THERE ARE NO FLAMMABLES WITHIN THE VICINITY OF THE UNIT. 2 OPEN 1. Remove fuel tank from the unit and open the cap. 1 PULL Pull knob firmly to open the cap Do not drop the fuel tank. KNOB 2. Fill the tank with fuel. Fill with fuel using a pump and watching fuel gauge. Stop filling when the fuel shows half way up the gauge. * Do not force the fuel feeder cap. It may cause fuel to leak. APPROPRIATE LEVEL OF FUEL 3. Tighten the cap until it clicks. Place the tank back in the unit (cap goes downward). Caution : Turn the tank upside down and make sure there are no leaks before replacing it in the unit. 57 Note: * If filling fuel in a cold place and the tank is filled to more than half, open fuel feeder cap for a time, until the temperature of the fuel adjusts to room temperature before replacing the tank. * Be careful not to spill fuel on the Full Alarm sensor. If fuel is running short... the alarm on the fixed tank in the heater sounds, LCD indicates OIL and Ultra Sign changes to red and flashes slowly as warningThe heater continues to run (for about 20-40 minutes),then the unit will automatically shut off , and the alarm will sound, and the red Ultra Sign lamp and ON lamp will flash rapidly. Note : After automatic shut-off, fill the fuel tank before using again. 4) CHECK BEFORE USE. 1. Make sure that there are no fuel leaks around the unit. If any leaks are found, remove the fuel tank from the unit and consult a dealer. 2. Power: The Plug must be securely in the socket. Use a properly wired household wall socket (single phase 240 V). G. HOW TO OPERATE THE UNIT 1) PRE-IGNITION PREPARATIONS AND CHECK POINTS * Level: When the Unit is placed in a level position the auto shut-off device is automatically turned on. If the Unit is not level, this can result in incorrect combustion and the flames may burn high or red. If this happens auto shut-off device will not work properly. 58 2) IGNITION Press ON/OFF button. ON lamp blinks. After a pause for pre- heating, the unit automatically turns on. ON lamp lightss . Ultra Sign changes to green * The ignition sound as the Unit lights is quite normal. * The pre-heat time until ignition is about 2 minutes, depending on the room temperature. (2 to 3 minutes if room temperature is below 5 deg. C). * White smoke and slight smell when switching ON and OFF are normal. (When the room temperature is low, vapour from the combustion gas looks white). IMPORTANT : After ignition, your heater will function at full power for 20 minutes; the temperature will begin adjusting only after this 20 min period. 3) FLAME CONDITION When the unit is lit check the condition of the flame through the inspection window. If thecondition of the flame is abnormal, consult your dealer. Normal flame: Blue flame with a slight yellow. Abnormal flame 1: Flame shrinking. Produces noise or smell and eventually extinguishes. Abnormal flame 2: Yellow flame surrounds the burner. 4) TEMPERATURE CONTROL When the heater is ignited, you can set the required temperature. Press TEMP ADJ button and set desired temperature. * The Room thermo-sensor controls the heat automatically, according to the temperature selected. * As the room thermo-sensor senses the temperature around the unit, there may be a slight difference in temperature between the room thermo-sensor and any thermometer in the room. 59 * The Room thermo-sensor does not work properly if the unit is exposed to direct sunlight or a draught, or exposed to heat from other heating / lighting appliances or during the first 20 minutes after each ignition. Fuzzy control Depending on room temperature , and time of ignition, the unit will automatically run at a higher temperature until the walls / floor get warm. 5) ECO MODE (MILD + SAVE) Operates with approx. 40% lower maximum output. When the room temperature rises about 3°C above set temperature, the heater automatically switches OFF (SAVE shut-off), and when the room temperature drops to the selected temperature, the heater automatically re-ignites and controls room temperature at the chosen level. - When pressing "ECO" button after ignition, both "ECO" lamp and "blue Ultra Sign will be on, confirming the Eco mode is set. To release Eco mode, press "ECO" button again. ECO light goes off, and Ultra Sign changes from blue to green. - During SAVE shut-off, "ECO" lamp and blue Ultra Sign are lit, and "ON" lamp is off. 6) CHILD LOCK - Press the "CHILD LOCK" button 3 times within 3 seconds. The child lock is set even when the heater is ON , and the CHILD LOCK indicator lights up. To release the CHILD LOCK, follow the same instructions as for setting. (The CHILD LOCK Light goes off) When the CHILD LOCK is set and the heater is ON, only the ON/OFF button can be operated. When the CHILD LOCK is set and the heater is OFF the heater can not be operated. If the ON/OFF button is pressed nothing appears on the LCD, first release the CHILD LOCK function as described above. 60 7) PRESENT TIME 1 - - 2 - Press "MODE" button and display Time Set Mode, with the heater Switched OFF. ("TIME", clock, and day of the week are displayed on LCD) The default setting is 12 00 Sunday Pressing DAY SELECTION displays today’s date. By pressing the above button, the day changes as below : SUN (SU) 3 4 - MON (MO) TUE (TU) WED (WE) THU (TH) FRI (FR) button SAT (SA) Press CLOCK (BACK) (FORWARD) buttons and set the current time. Each press of the CLOCK (BACK) (FORWARD) button advances the time by one minute. If no setting action is made for 10 seconds during 2 or 3, LCD automatically reverts to CLOCK MODE... 8) TIMER PROGRAMMING What is TIMER programming? TIMER programmes enable the User to start and stop the Heater, to maintain set temperatures of your choice. There are 3 Programme choices- TM1, TM2 and TM3. I WEEKLY TIMER (TM1 MODE) A WHAT IS TIMER TM1? TIMER TM1 allows you to set a number of programmes each day , and for a whole week. You can set up to 5 Periods in a day, to a maximum total of 35 Periods over the week. Each Period has it’s own ON time, and it’s own OFF time. B SPECIFICATION OF THE TIMER (TM1 MODE) 1. The CLOCK must be switched from AM/PM mode to 24 hours mode. (0:00-23:59, the time is adjusted in steps of one minute.) 61 2. The programming of the ON and OFF times each day are set in ten minute steps. (between 0:00 and 23:50) The maximum number of ON and OFF time settings is 35 per week. (5 sets per day x 7 days) 3. " Setting the Clock,", "Setting the Time Programmes", and "Confirmation, change, and addition of Time Programmes" are possible only when the heater is OFF and programmed for Normal operationNOT ECO or TIMER mode. 4. When the weekly Programmes are working, only the OFF button or the TM 1 button can be operated. If the OFF button is pressed the heater will switch off. If the TM1 button is pressed the TIMER TM 1 mode is cancelled 5. Programme periods must be set with both an ON time, and an OFF time. 6. The programme periods cannot be set to overlap. LCD shows "E r r" Example A: ON: 7:00 OFF: 11:00 ON: 10:50 OFF: 18:00 Example B: ON: 7:00 OFF: 11:00 The times are overlapping ON: 11:00 OFF: 18:00 The times are overlapping 7. Timer TM1 periods can be programmed over two days. Example: ON: Monday 23:00 OFF: Tuesday 1:00 8. When the Timer TM1 is selected when the heater is ON, the heater will switch ON and OFF in accordance with the programmes.. Example: ON: Monday 7:00 OFF: Monday 12:00 ON: Monday 15:00 When weekly timer is turned on during this pediod, the heater keeps operating When weekly timer is turned on during this period, the heater stops operation 9. If automatic shut down occurs as a result of one of the Safety devices being triggered, the Timer TM1 mode is cancelled. C OPERATING TIMER TM1 MODE 1/ Setting the Time-See point 7) page 59 . 2/ Setting TIMER (TM1 MODE) 1 - Press "MODE" button twice with the heater switched OFF. If there are no settings for the period the TM 1 symbol will flash on the display, otherwise the TM1 symbol stays on continuously on the display and it is necessary to amend the programme (see Page 62 ). 62 - The default setting shows 1(number), ON, -- --, Sunday ‚ s ‚ l Changed 2 3 4 5 - - Press “Day Selection” button to choose the day of the week for the period to be set. Use the “CLOCK (BACK) (FORWARD) buttons, to select the ON and OFF times. Each press of the Clock setting buttons changes the time by 10 minutes. Press the TIMER SET button to confirm the start time for the period to be set. The TM1 symbol on the display will stop flashing. The ON time of the period is confirmed. If the display shows « Err », wait a few seconds and then correct the faulty ON setting (because two periods are overlapping)- see Page 62 . Once again press the TIMER SET button, to set the OFF time for the period to be set. The TM1 symbol on the display will again flash if there is no setting, otherwise the TM1 symbol remains on continuously on the display, and it is necessary to change the setting– see Page 62 . The default setting shows SU, 1, OFF, -- --, TM1 OFF 6 7 - ‚ ‚s 1 l Set the OFF time of the Heater for the period by pressing the « + and - » buttons. Each press of the buttons adjusts the time in 10 minute steps. Press TIMER SET button to confirm the heater OFF time for the period being programmed. The TM1 Symbol on the display will stop flashing. The heater OFF time for the period is confirmed. If display shows « Err » wait a few seconds and than amend the OFF time (because 2 periods are overlapping)- see Page 62 .. 63 8 9 - Press the TIMER SET button to programme the ON time for the next period. Repeat 2 to 7 above to set each period (max 35 periods) The First ON Timer - The Second ON Timer The 35th ON Timer The 35th OFF Timer If all 35 available Timer settings are NOT used, then the Display skips the unused periods, and the period immediately following the OFF time of the last period programmed, becomes the first period. The example shows the last OFF setting is period 10, and Period 11 becomes the first Period. Example: The First ON Timer - The First OFF Timer The First OFF Timer The Second ON Timer The 10th OFF Timer The 11th ON Timer After setting all selected periods, press the MODE button 3 times and the Clock will appear on the LCD. 3/ Reviewing and Amending TIMER TM1 settings. 1 - By pressing "MODE" button twice, with the heater OFF, the TM symbol is displayed on the LCD. The successive "TM1" ON and OFF times which have been programmed, with the period number (1), and the day of the week are displayed - Example: ON Sunday at 6-00 a.m: ‚ s ‚ l ‚ P 2 3 4 - If the time displayed is correct go to step 2 otherwise go to step 3. The display changes to the next Period setting with each press of the TIMER SET button. Press the « TIMER RESET » button to cancel all the settings in a period (display shows "- -:- -") Reset the ON and OFF times by pressing the « + and - » buttons and programme the days by pressing « DAY » button. 64 5 - 6 - Repeat steps 2 to 4 to modify or cancel all the programmed periods or, Press « TIMER SET »button If the display shows « Err », wait a few seconds and then re-set the faulty ON and OFF times ( because 2 periods are overlapping). Press « MODE » button 3 times , and the display shows the time. 4/ Add ON or OFF times for a TIMER TM1 period 1 2 3 4 5 - Press « MODE »button twice with the heater OFF. TM1 symbol flashes on the display. Press « TIMER SET » button till display shows "- -:- -". Re-set the ON and OFF times by pressing « + and - » and enter the starting and finishing days by pressing the « DAY »button. Press « TIMER SET » button. If the display shows « Err », wait a few seconds and then re-set the faulty ON and OFF times (2 periods are overlapping). Repeat the steps 2 to 4 to add all the periods you want to programme. Press « MODE » button 3 times , and the display shows the time. 5/ Using TIMER TM1 MODE 1 - Press "TIMER TM1” button with the heater switched ON. II TIMER TM2 MODE : (ON AT THE SAME TIME EVERY DAY). A WHAT IS TIMER TM2? TIMER TM2 MODE allows the user to programme one fixed ON time every day of the week. For example you can programme your heater to switch on every day at 6-00 a.m. 65 B SPECIFICATION OF THE TIMER TM2 MODE. 1. The CLOCK must be switched from AM/PM mode to 24 hours mode. (0:00-23:59, the time is adjusted in steps of one minute.) 2. The programming of the ON time each day is set in ten minute steps. (between 0:00 and 23:50) 3. " Setting the Clock,", "Setting the Time Programmes", and "Confirmation, change, and addition of Time Programmes" are possible only when the heater is OFF and programmed for Normal operation- NOT ECO or TIMER mode. 4. When TIMER TM2 MODE is working, only the OFF button or the TM2 button can be operated. If the OFF button is pressed the heater switches OFF. If the TM2 button is pressed, the TIMER TM 2 mode is cancelled. 5. If automatic shut down occurs as a result of one of the Safety devices being triggered, the Timer TM2 mode is cancelled. (Display shows "-- --") Enter the required daily ON time, as above. 4/ To operate TIMER TM2 MODE 1 - Press "TIMER(TM2)" button with the heater switched ON . Finally, press "MODE" button once and the clock will appear on the LCD. 3/ To change or delete the single ON time or the day of the week 1 - The display shows the single ON time and day of the week in TIMER TM3 mode. Example (Start Sunday at 6 h00’) ‚ s ‚ 2 - - If not, press "MODE" button 4 times with the heater switched OFF . To modify the weekly ON time and day, delete the hour and day by pressing the TIMER RESET button (diplay shows "SU, - -:- -"), TM3 flashes. Then re-set the time and the day for the weekly TIMER (TM3) programme (see C 2/ 2) above. 68 4/ Operating TIMER (TM3 MODE) 1 - Press "TIMER(TM3)" button with the heater switched ON. "TIMER(TM3)" lamp lights up, and LCD changes to clock mode. - At the selected time the heater automatically switches ON. - The heater can only be switched OFF by pressing the "ON/OFF" button. 2 - To cancel TIMER TM3 MODE, press the "TIMER(TM3)" button again - "TIMER(TM3)" lamp goes off and the heater returns to the normal manual operating mode. - The heater retains , in it’s memory, the ON or OFF setting to which it was operating prior to pressing the TIMER TM3 button. 9) FAN OPERATION This Mode allows the User to operate the Unit as a ventilation fan only. - To select press the ECO button, with the heater OFF. The Ultra Sign changes to blue. - To cancel, press the ECO button again, and the Ultra Sign goes off. (NB. This mode of operation can be a little noisy). 10) EXPLANATION OF THE COUNT DOWN FUNCTION For security reasons, your heater will shut off automatically after 85 hours of heating for Inverter 5747, 69 hours of heating for Inverters 6747 and 7747 and 59 hours of heating for Inverter 5047, depending on the maximum running time of the heater at minimum output. To check the remaining hours before auto shut off of your heater, you can: - Press once on the MODE button with your heater ON. The number that appears indicates the possible remaining running time until automatic shut off. (This does not indicate the remaining burning time before refuelling is necessary, -this depends on the mode, and the litres remaining in the tank). (To operate continuously for 85 hours with 5747, 69 hours with 6747 or 7747 and 59 hours with 5047, you would need to fill up the tank several times, depending on the consumption of the heater.) The fan continues to run until the unit cools down. Please make sure the flame is extinguished. Except in emergencies, never try to extinguish the burner by hitting, or unplugging the unit. NOTES : Do not turn off the unit by pulling out the power plug except in an emergency. * In the period shortly after the unit is turned off, the Ignition sound may be louder. * Excessive, repeated turning On and Off of the unit, may cause odours. * AIR-SENSOR DETECTOR This heater has been designed with an Air-sensor device. Abnormal conditions of use of your heater (bad ventilation or too small a room) will automatically cause the heater to switch OFF, and the Air-sensor light will come on. IMPORTANT Any tampering with, or modification to the safety systems is prohibited. Apart from invalidating the guarantee, this can create the risk of a failure of the systems, which are there for your safety. 70 RESTRICTION ON USE This heater must not be used in places when they are hermetically sealed, for example caravans, boats, passenger compartments of vehicles etc. IMPORTANT - Use your heater in a room which is properly ventilated, and free of inflammable vapours. - All rooms in which the heater is used must be adequately ventilated (the ventilator aperture must have a minimum surface area of 50 cm²). - Do not use your heater in too small a room : 3200 watts : min 49 M3 4000 watts : min 61 M3 4650 watts : min 72 M3 - In case of damage to the power cord, it must be replaced only by a repairer, recommended by the manufacturer (or distributor). z Always maintain a minimum clearance of 1 metre from any other objects. DO NOT USE YOUR HEATER IN ROOMS SITUATED BELOW GROUND LEVEL. H. SAFETY DEVICES The unit will not automatically switch on after dealing with an Error, triggered by a Safety device. It must be switched On again, to resume use. AUTO SHUT-OFF DEVICE A sudden movement or strong impact triggers this system. The system is automatically reset when the unit is correctly re-positioned. Check and if necessary eliminate the cause, and then re-ignite the unit. 71 PREVENTION OF INCOMPLETE COMBUSTION A shortage of oxygen, due, for example, to using the Unit for a long time without ventilating the room, or because of a dirty air filter, triggers this system, which switches off the burner , to prevent the heater from burning abnormally. Make sure that your room is ventilated at least once or twice per hour, and that the air filter is cleaned. This system extinguishes the burner, and warns the user that the room is improperly ventilated. Whenever any of these safety systems is triggered, ventilate the room and check and eliminate the cause, and then re-ignite. SAFE IGNITION SYSTEM AND FLAME CONDITION MONITOR This system stops the fuel supply to the burner if there is a danger of the unit catching fire. If the cause can not be corrected, contact your local dealer. AUTOMATIC-POWER FAILURE SAFETY DEVICE In case of power failure or the plug becoming disconnected from the socket, this system protects the unit from any possibility of abnormal combustion occurring. When the power is restored , switch ON again. OVERHEATING PREVENTION SYSTEM If warm air outlet and warm air intake systems are blocked ,or if the heater front panel is obstructed, the unit automatically switches off. Eliminate the cause of overheating, wait until the inside of heater cools and re-ignite. WARNING if the power cord needs replacing. In case of damage , the power cord must only be replaced by a repairer recommended by the manufacturer (or distributor) -some special tools are required. I. Caution: Do not tilt the unit, or lay it on its side. Keep this manual handy for future reference 75 M. REGULAR MAINTENANCE All cleaning and maintenance must be done after switching off the heater, disconnecting the plug from the socket, and after waiting until the unit has cooled down. CLEANING OF AIR FILTER (MORE THAN ONCE A WEEK) Remove air filter from the unit, and clean it with vacuum cleaner or a brush. Caution: A clogged air filter causes incomplete combustion. * After washing air filter, dry well before replacing. * Do not run the unit without the air filter. WARM AIR INTAKE (AT LEAST ONCE A WEEK) Clean with vacuum cleaner or a brush. Do not bend or tug the room thermo sensor. Note: A clogged air intake reduces the volume of air, and the overheat prevention device may be activated, due to the high temperature in the unit.. CHECK THAT THE AUTOMATIC SHUT-OFF DEVICE IS OPERATING PROPERLY (ONCE OR TWICE PER MONTH) With your heater working, move it to see if the automatic shut-off device is operating. Never take the auto shut-off device apart. MAINTENANCE OF THE WARM AIR OUTLET (ONCE OR TWICE PER MONTH) There may be an accumulation of dust on the top, around the heater or on the warm air outlet .First clean with a damp cloth, than with a dry duster. CLEANING OF FUEL FILTER AND FIXED TANK (ONCE OR TWICE A SEASON) If there is any water or dust in the fuel filter or fixed tank, the following situation may occur, even if there is sufficient fuel in the tank. - Does not ignite ________________________ Flame lengthens and gives off odours. Switch off during operation ___ 76 In all the above instances, clean the fuel filter as follows: 1. Remove the fuel filter from the fixed tank * Be careful not to allow water or dust into the fixed tank. 2. Clean the fuel filter with fuel * First get rid of water or dust from the fuel filter before cleaning. * Treat gently so that the filter does not get damaged. Note: Never wash fuel filter with water. 3. F U E L FILTER F U E L RUBBER CLEAN FUEL Replace fuel filter in original position. Wipe up any spilled fuel. PUMP Note:If any of above conditions persist after cleaning, consult your dealer. Caution:Never dismantle, or replace electrical parts, or burner parts. FIXED TANK BUCKET * Never disconnect electrical parts, and never replace them with non-approved parts. N. PERIODICAL CHECK Periodical checks are required after using the unit for a time. Ask your dealer about the checks necessary. O. REPLACEMENT OF THE SPARE PARTS Only use genuine parts, available at your local dealer. The manufacturer can not be responsible for problems caused by use of non-approved spare parts, or because of repairs undertaken by unqualified personnel. Ensure that you ask for only genuine parts from your local dealer. In addition to invalidating your guarantee, using non-genuine spare parts also reduces the performance of your heater, and, above all, causes accidents. P.
