INSTRUCTIONS AND GUIDELINES- VICTORY 10 These are SUMMARY instructions and guidelines. Detailed instructions and manuals can be found online at www.wheelsforfeet.com. WEIGHT LIMIT: 400LBS OPERATING THE SCOOTER 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. To get onto and off the scooter: Remove the key from the key switch. Then lift the side handle and slide carefully onto the seat. To turn the scooter ON and Off: Turn the key switch to power ON or OFF. To move forward: Push the throttle lever forward with your right. To move backward: Push the throttle lever forward with your left thumb. To brake: Release the throttle lever completely. The brake will activate and the scooter will stop. To increase speed: Turn the speed control knob clock wise located on the control panel. To reduce Speed: Turn knob counter-clockwise. To Park: Bring the scooter to a flat surface area, and then turn the key switch to OFF. Pull the key out only after the scooter has come to complete stop. DRIVE AND FREEWHEEL MODE All scooters are equipped with a manual freewheel lever system to allow for manual maneuverability by the user or a trained attendant. When the scooter is in freewheel mode, the braking system is disengaged. The scooter should always be returned to drive mode to lock the brakes before leaving the scooter occupant unattended or returning control of the scooter back to the user. The lever is located on the right back side of the scooter. Push the freewheel mode level towards the • Rear direction to engage motor to move scooter. • Forward direction to disengage motor, and to push by hand. CHARGING When the key is switched “ON”, the battery gauge will display the battery power capacity by indicating red, yellow and green areas respectively. Green area indicates a full charge. Open the charging socket cap on the scooter’s cover then connect the charger’s plug to the charging socket. 3. Plug the power cable into your power outlet. 4. The charger’s LED light will be orange at the beginning of a charge. The charging duration is at least 6-8 hours (but this will vary), based on the status of the battery and temperature. 5. The orange LED will turn to green when the charging is complete. 6. Disconnect the cord and remove the round plug from the charge socket. CIRCUIT BREAKER Button for the circuit breaker is located on front of the battery pack. If the power switch is “ON” and the battery gauge does not move, it is possible an electric current has overloaded PLEASE 1. 2. 3. 4. Observe traffic rules for pedestrians as they apply to the scooter as well. Ride on sidewalks or pedestrian areas only. Be very cautious when driving the scooter around streets or shopping malls. Drive slowly when driving up or down an incline, on roads with drops or dips. The incline should not be greater than 6 degrees. PLEASE DO NOT 1. 2. 3. 4. Lean against, or pull forward on, the handlebar while mounting or dismounting from the scooter. Stretch your body out on the scooter as it may cause you to lose your balance. Lean against or pull on the operating lever while going up or down an incline. Do not make sudden turns while drive on gravel roads or ramps. Drive scooter: a) After consuming alcohol or when fatigued. b) Until the tiller (handlebar column) is up, and the bolt is fully tightened. c) Up and down an incline greater than 6 degrees. d) On roads that are muddy bumpy, narrow, snow covered, or have loose gravel. e) On roads beside a canal or waterway without fencing or hedges. f) Through any holes in the road. The maximum ground clearance is 3 inches. g) Through water covering the road unless the water is less than 1 inch deep. h) At night or in inclement weather. ELECTROMAGNETIC INTERFERENCE FROM RADIO WAVE SOURCES Mobility scooters may be susceptible to electromagnetic interference (EMI) emitted from sources such as radio stations, TV stations, amateur radio (HAM) transmitters, two-way radios, WWW.WHEELSFORFEET.COM 425-256-2882 V1 and cellular phones. The interference can cause the mobility scooter to release its brakes, move by itself, or move in unintended directions. INCLEMENT WEATHER Exposure of your scooter to inclement weather conditions should be avoided whenever possible. If suddenly caught up in rain, snow, severe cold or heat while operating your scooter, proceed to shelter at the earliest opportunity.
