USING YOUR SALTON ELITE TOASTER
1.
Before using your appliance for the first time, wipe the surface of the toaster with a soft damp cloth. Use the toaster without bread for the first time. Plug in the toaster, press down the bread carriage and set the browning control to the maximum position. This will ensure that you burn any dust that may have fallen into the toaster during production or transport. You may notice a slight smell or even a little smoke during this initial use. To begin toasting, plug in the toaster and choose the desired browning setting. Place the bread in the slots and press down the bread carriage handle until it clicks into place. The heating element is now activated and the bread automatically centered by the centering guides to ensure even browning. The toasted bread will pop up automatically when the selected time has elapsed. The browning selection used will depend on personal taste and preference.

If necessary, the extra lift function can be used to remove the bread from the toaster. Simply lift the carriage handle upwards and this will elevate the toast an extra 2cm for easy removal. The cancel button can be used at any time during the cycle to cancel toasting. To use the defrost function (if it is necessary to defrost the frozen bread), select the defrost button (The light will go on), place the bread into the toaster and press down on the carriage handle. The bread will pop up automatically once it is toasted and the defrost light will go out. If you need to reheat already toasted bread, place the bread into the slots, press down the carriage handle and select the reheat button. The light next to the reheat button will go on. The bread will pop up automatically. NOTE: Changes to the browning control will not change the reheat time. To use the bun warmer, press down the bun warmer button to elevate the bun warmer racks, choose the desired browning degree; place the buns on the rack and press down the carriage handle. When the carriage handle pops up, the buns are ready. Always ensure that the bun warmer racks are down when toasting bread in the slots. Never use the bun warmer and toaster at the same time.
