Instructions for Installing Replacement Solenoid Kit Applies to Modulating Gas Control Options AG39, AG40, AG41 and AG42
Application/ Components
This kit is designed to replace the solenoid actuator on units equipped with modulating gas control Option AG39, AG40, AG41, or AG42. Components vary by voltage. Verify that the voltage of the kit matches the unit. Voltage Kit P/N Solenoid Actuator Hinge Pin Palnut
115V or 575V 203039 174814 195109 (2) 63559
208/230V 203040 174846 195109 (2) 63559
460V 203041 174847 195109 (2) 63559
Depending on the date of manufacture of the unit, the solenoid actuator may be located in either of two places. This kit may be used to replace the solenoid actuator in either arrangement.
WARNING: This replacement kit is to be installed by a qualified agency in accordance with these instructions and in compliance with all codes and requirements of authorities having jurisdiction. Failure to follow instructions could result in death, serious injury, and/or property damage. The qualified agency performing this work assumes responsibility for this installation.
Instructions
FIGURE 1 - Location of Solenoid Actuator
1. Turn off the gas supply at the shutoff valve upstream of the combination valve and turn off the electrical supply. 2. Open the control compartment and locate the flue duct assembly and the solenoid actuator. See FIGURE 1.

Flapper Linkage Arm Attach solenoid to linkage arm with new hinge pin and palnuts. Before installing, lubricate hinge pin with field-provided silicone grease.
Solenoid - Attach new solenoid to mounting plate
Units manufactured beginning 8/01 NOTE: Depending on when the unit was manufactured, it may not have a bushing in the linkage and may not appear exactly as illustrated, but the solenoid is in this location and the linkage attaches to the plate with the hinge pin and palnuts.
Install new hinge pin to attach solenoid to flapper bracket. Lubricate hinge pin with silicone grease before installing. Fasten on each end with palnut.
