Never operate this toaster near or below combustible materials, such as curtains, as this may be a fire risk. Never attempt to remove bread that has lodged in the slots without first unplugging your toaster from the mains supply. Cool completely before attempting to remove toast that has jammed. Never use a metal object e.g. knife to remove/release bread that is lodged in the toaster. Never operate this toaster by means of an external timer or separate remote control system. ELECTRICAL SAFETY - WARNINGS! • Read these instructions thoroughly before using this appliance or connecting it to the mains supply. • A 13 amp BS1362 ASTA approved fuse must be fitted. • The appliance must be earthed. • There are no user-serviceable parts inside this appliance. • Always refer servicing to qualified service personnel. • The mains lead of this product is not replaceable by the user. • Do not allow this product to be exposed to rain or moisture during use or storage • Before switching on, make sure that the voltage of your electricity supply is the same as that indicated on the rating plate. Connecting it to any other power source may cause damage. • The mains lead of this product is not replaceable by the user. BEFORE FIRST USE Remove any packaging material from inside the toasting slots and any promotional labels. Before using your toaster for the first time, operate once on a medium setting without any bread. There may be a slight burning smell or a light smoking but this is normal and not a cause for concern. CARE AND CLEANING - WARNING! • Never immerse any part of your Toaster, its cord or plug in water or any other liquid. • Before cleaning your Toaster, unplug it from the mains supply and allow it to cool down completely. Clean the outer surface with a soft damp cloth. • Do not clean with metal scouring pads. Pieces can break off and touch electrical parts increasing the risk of electrical shock. • Do not use coarse or abrasive cleaners or steel wool to clean the toaster. • Never spray or apply cleaning products directly on to the toaster. Apply cleaner to a soft cloth instead. • Wipe the outside of the toaster with a soft, damp cloth and then polish with a soft, dry cloth. CRUMB REMOVAL It is important crumbs are not allowed to build up inside the base of the toaster. Crumbs can be removed by simply sliding out the crumb tray at the bottom of your toaster and emptying it into the dustbin. Replace the crumb tray before using your toaster. STORAGE Ensure that the toaster has completely cooled down and is clean before storing away. Store your appliance in its packaging box in a clean dry place. SERVICING If you drop or damage your toaster it should not be used until it has been examined by an authorised service centre or appliance technician. To remove crumb tray pull outwards from base. D A D B C E D OPERATION INSTRUCTIONS 1. Place toaster on a flat, dry and stable surface. 2. Plug toaster in and adjust the timing control to your desired toasting level. 3. Place bread or other toaster food into the slot, then push the toaster lever down, which remains down until the bread is toasted to your selected time. 4. If you want to stop the toasting cycle, push the eject button. It will bring the bread up and automatically switch off the heating elements. 5. If the bread sticks in the toaster, unplug it and then wait for it to cool before removing the bread. Never insert metal utensils into toaster.
