InTek eTM [extended Tele-Metering & Monitoring] InTekTM eTM I. System Overview Integra Teknik (InTek) is offering an economic and reliable solution for Customer Meter Reading (Load Profile) as well as for instantaneous parameters (values/ status) reporting via GSM infrastructure by using the combination of public SMS and GPRS protocol. The core of solution is by the utilization of Siemens TC65T with its J2ME (Java to Mobile Equipment) Smart GSM Terminal, where a custom supervisory application/program (Master protocol) is developed in this terminal to connect to the respective Meter (or IED/Controller) on real-time (continuous) connection in accordance to the Slave protocol available on such Meter (or IED/Controller). Considering that : - SMS is more secure (by the utilization of Caller Identification) - GPRS could transporting much more bytes data on low cost, then the system utilize the combination of SMS and GPRS for data transaction, where on normal scheme : - data from Meter will be sent via GPRS connection - command/request from Master will be sent via SMS only On emergency (or important data) that need to be sent-out from the field (Meter or IED), and GPRS connection could not be established, then such data will be proceed to be transmitted via SMS. Each command/request from Master will be limited/compacted on single SMS message, while each data from Meter will be limited/compacted on maximum 1 KByte. On normal condition (no alarm and no request from Master), the system will only need to one package data, that is a periodic (daily) data from Remote device to Master which will be maximum 1 KByte (cost maximum Rp 30.- / day per each Customer Remote Site ). With the fact that the default implemented GPRS system on GSM provider in Indonesia is using DHCP that providing dynamic IP, then it’s mandatory to have a permanent Public/International IP on the Master Control, where all of the Remote Site will have to initiate connection to that Master Control IP. This system could be more improved (on terms of security and reliability if the customer could negotiate with the GSM provider to have a fix IP on each Remote Terminal (GSM Modem) and/or to have the data terminated on GSM provider gateway only, and no need to be passthrough to Internet. On this case, a dedicated LAN connection from Master Control to the GSM provider gateway shall be established. www. Proposed System Our proposed InTek EMR (Extended Meter Reading) is consist of the following : 1. Front End PC Server with software : - Microsoft Windows 2003 Server or Microsoft Windows XP Pro - Microsoft SQL Server or MySQL or Microsoft Access - Microsoft Office Selection of PC Server as well as the software will depend on the maximum number of Meter to be server, and the storage period of historical data). Minimum PC Server specification is Intel Pentium / Xeon processor with 2.4 GHz speed, 1 GB Memory, 80 GB Hard Disk, and Ethernet port. One (1) unit standard GSM Modem (to be either with Serial port or USB port) will be required at Master Control. PC Server with standard GSM Modem, and all of the 3rd party software could be supplied/provided by End-User. 2. InTek Front End software application : - InTek GPRS/SMS Data Handler - InTek OPC Server with InTek Mobile protocol module - InTek CSV Collector InTek GPRS/SMS Data Handler is a Data Server application which serve all of the GPRS TCP/IP connection request from GSM Modems, and collecting all of the data sent by the GSM Modems, either via GPRS or SMS. The received Load Profile and Maximum Demand history will be stored directly to SQL/ODBC database, and the instantaneous data will be passed-through to InTek OPC Server. InTek CSV Collector application is provided for storing the manual collected CSV file/data (using standard Meter’s collector/configurator software) to the SQL/ODBC database. InTek CSV Collector will have a filter and data synchronization feature for data consistency check, to prevent data duplication, overlap, etc. InTek OPC Server will present the reported instantaneous data from the Remote Devices, so it become available to be displayed via any Microsoft Windows-based MMI software (like GE Fanuc Intellution iFix, Invensys Wonderware InTouch, Schneider Citect, Siemens WinCC, etc.). Predefined commands/requests the respective Remote Device(s) could be performed via this OPC Server, where the command/request could be directed to internal Java application at GSM Modem or to the end –device (Meter / IED) via SMS. www. InTek SQL Viewer software application : InTek SQL Viewer is a graphical trend application for Screen View and/or Printing the respective Load Profile of any Meter. It will allow the operator to select the respective parameters : - Meter ID / Customer Number - Power Load Profile (KW, KVAR, and/or KVA) - Period The Maximum Demand information (time and value) will automatically be included on that selected period. InTek SQL Viewer is a standalone application that could be installed on any standalone computer machine or be embedded on iFix Client application. 4. Custom Automatic Reports Generation and Distribution Since most of the required data for customer billing is already available, then by the addition of static parameter and billing rule convention to incorporate on the SQL/ODBC table, a monthly automatic bill generation could be implemented. Some automatic periodically report could be generated, where the report output could be send to printer or be e-mailed as PDF file to the respective in-charge person. The “monthly bill” is also possible to be e-mailed as PDF file to the respective customer. 5. Smart GSM Modem - Siemens TC65T InTek Java application will be embedded to this GSM Modem, and it will be connected on continuous real-time via serial RS-232 link to the respective Meter, IED, or Controller. InTek application resided on TC65T Modem will be connected as point-to-point serial link to single end device (for either Meter, IED, or Controller). The application will have it’s internal I/O database with addressing capability for : - 250 Digital Inputs (Status) - 250 Digital Outputs (Control / Command) - 250 Analog Inputs / Counters (16-bits and 32-bits value) - 250 Analog Outputs The collected points/value from the end device as well as from the Modem’s internal (built-in) I/O will be mapped and stored on the above I/O database. Load Profile and Historical Data is processed separately from the above I/O. www. Integrateknik.com [email protected] Page 3 of 3 InTek eTM [extended Tele-Metering & Monitoring] InTekTM eTM Siemens TC65T has a built-in physical I/O : 10 x DI/DO (configurable as DI or DO) and 2 AI (Analog Inputs). With the addition of InTek I/O Adaptation Board, it will be available to be used as Mini RTU for monitoring/controlling Switchgear Panel and/or Environment condition 6. I/O Expansion By adding InTek Mini Concentrator and Digital I/O Module, the capability of I/O could be expanded, as shown on the attach Drawing/Configuration. III. Future Expansion For a large I/O and/or several IEDs connection, InTek UC (Universal Concentrator) is available to be proposed to form AMR and SCADA System based on Cellular Packet data (to be either GSM GPRS or CDMA PDSN). On this InTek UC, since all of the data is processed inside the UC then a smart modem is not required, therefore a standard GSM or CDMA Modem (to be either external serial RS232 or internal PCMCIA) could be utilized. www.
