Advantage PressurePro announces a major addition to its existing PressurePro Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS). These new products support the add/drop requirements of tractor/trailer hauling. The products are designed in conjunction with SAE trucking communication standards J2497, J1708 and J1587. The system is composed of three assemblies; the existing Sensor units for each tire, an ‘Intelligent Repeater’ module that mounts on each trailer to link to the tires on said trailer and an Intelligent Monitor (Tractor) for displaying pressure and alerts. PressurePro’s new technology addresses the “Drop & Hook” nature of trailers, especially with fleets where it’s necessary for any tractor to connect to any trailer, with little/no interface. Current tire pressures as well as low and high pressure tire alert information for both the tractor and trailer(s) will be available to display in the cab or remote to an office based management system. INTELLIGENT MONITOR: The New Intelligent Monitor is designed to work with the new Intelligent Repeater. This monitor has the same look as our regular Monitor with a few changes to the face template which allows the monitor to display up to 64 wheel locations on a tractor and up to 3 trailers. It will function, program and operate the same as our current Monitors but will have the ability to receive and communicate which would allow programming of sensors remotely with a web based telematics product. The New Truck Monitor has an output for J1708. The Intelligent Monitor can read and monitor 1 to 64 wheel locations on a tractor (power unit) and up to 3 trailers. The Intelligent Monitor acts as a display in the vehicle and utilizes Bridge technology to communicate with other devices. INTELLIGENT REPEATER - “DROP & HOOK”: Advantage PressurePro announces a major addition to their existing PressurePro Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS). The Intelligent Repeater resides on the trailer, receives the tire pressure readings and sends them to the tractor per J2497 – PLC4TRUCKS. The Intelligent Repeater supplies direct support for add/drop requirements of tractor/trailer hauling and is designed in conjunction with SAE trucking communication standards J2497, J1708 and J1587. The system is composed of three assemblies; Sensors for each tire, an ‘Intelligent Repeater’ module that mounts on each trailer to read sensors on that trailer’s tires, and an Intelligent Monitor to receive information through the vehicle’s power (ABS) line from the Intelligent Repeater. Communication from PressurePro sensors to the monitor and repeater remains wireless, using Radio Frequency at the 433.92MHz ISM band. Communication between the Intelligent Repeater and the Monitor is over the J2497 tractor/trailer PLC data link, on Pin 7 of the J560 power connector. The Intelligent Monitor contains proprietary bridging technology and communicates data from the J2497 network to the J1708/J1587 network that feeds information to the truck’s GPS/GPRS/GSM/ WiFi and /or telematics devices. APP Tire Pressure Sensors are manufactured to perform with the Intelligent Repeater and Intelligent Truck Monitor. The Intelligent Trailer Repeater, a hardware device that is mounted on the trailer, holds the ID of each sensor on that trailer, its wheel position, and current tire pressures. Information is relayed from the Intelligent Trailer Repeater to the Tractor Monitor or to other devices. In addition, the Intelligent Repeater performs as a remote RF receiver, picking up pressure data from any of the sensors on the vehicle for display. PressurePro’s new technology addresses the “Drop & Hook” nature of tractor/trailers. Current tire pressures and low/high pressure alerts for tractor/trailer (s) displays in the cab or to an office based management system. The Intelligent Repeater (IR) is mounted on the trailer. The power/data cord is wired to the trailer. The Intelligent Repeater communicates through the ABS wiring to the Monitor (or Bridge) in the tractor. Trailer Sensors are programmed to the Intelligent Repeater. When the tractor and trailer are tethered, the Monitor picks up the trailers Sensor ID’s, pressures and the wheel positions from the Intelligent Repeater. When the trailer is unhooked, the Monitor in the tractor forgets that trailer and looks for another trailer. When a trailer with an Intelligent Repeater is introduced and powered, the Monitor recognizes that Intelligent Repeater and the tractor/trailer combo is ready to go. The size of the box is approx 7” wide (with flange for screws) x 4” high x 4” thick. The box is weatherproof and durable. Two leads from the box, power lines and a threaded coax/antenna connection.
FlexIO Intelligent Monitor/Bridge/Repeater: The standard (regular) Intelligent Monitor /Bridge / Repeater gives info onto the trucks J1708 network and uses J1587 protocols to send the data. The Flex IO has an RS232 network and uses our proprietary flex IO to communicate data to a device serial port. MONITORS AVAILABLE: 1. J1708/J1587 Communications - Tractor/Trailer Tether: Allows direct communication to the communication network in the truck and brings in the Tire Pressure Info to the system for communication to the office site. J1708/J1587 communications device replaces RS232 chip on our standard board. Truck Monitor will deliver data to GPS/GSM device for uplink via the J1708/J1587 or RS232/RS485 networks. This data will reside in GPS/GSM device buffer until scheduled uploads to Fleet manager. The Intelligent Repeater on the trailer will be our Monitor in a weatherproof box, will be used to ID sensors, and communicate tire pressure data easily and quickly to the truck monitor. The Intelligent Repeater is programmable by the truck monitor. Data from the trailer unit will be communicated over the J2497 7-pin/J560 hook-to the truck monitor. The truck monitor accepts the new trailer programming data upon tethering and erases any old trailer data within 20 seconds of receiving no report from the old trailer.
