The IntelliSound provides salon owners the ability to offer a variety of audio listening options to their customers. The IntelliSound system supports the following audio solutions: o Single Studio Channel Source (i.e. Audio Sources similar to CD players, Audio Cassette Players, etc.) o o o MP3 Input FM Radio Station (Four Presets that can be defined by the Salon Owner) Four Digital Music Inputs (i.e. DMX®) Controls: The controls for the IntelliSound are available on the user interface key-pad. SOURCE VOLUME During idle mode (tanning bed off), the audio being played by the “Studio Channel” source may be heard at a preset volume in the tanning room. This feature can be turned off by the salon owner if desired. The audio will be heard at the pre-set volume set by the Salon owner and cannot be adjusted by the tanning customer. By using buttons on the User Interface Control panel, customers can select the available audio options and control the volume levels. During the session the “RESET” button is used to switch between the available audio options and the “TIME” up/down buttons are used to adjust (increase/decrease) the volume. The audio sources may be selected and the volume adjusted only during a tanning session. The source and volume controls are not available when the tanning system is in session delay or idle. The first available audio option to the tanner is the “Studio Channel”, followed by “MP3”, four preset “FM” stations and finally four “DMX”® channels. If any of these mentioned options are not available in the salon (i.e. Studio Channel or DMX®) the feature may be disabled by setting a parameter on the Intellitan timer (see parameter list on page 11). The following is a list of items required for installation: Tools Required: Phillips screw driver (+) Standard and Stubby 10MM deep well socket and ratchet combination Cordless Drill 1/4” Drill Bit Hardware (hardware included): FASTENER ILLUSTRATIONS Phillips Screw #6 X 3/8 Flat Washer M8 x 65 Speaker Housing Assembly: The IntelliSound Audio System connects to the tanning system at the head end of the bed. The following instructions and illustrations show the procedure for attaching the IntelliSound Audio Solution to the tanning system: 1. Remove Lower acrylic following the procedure outlined in the illustration below. Store acrylic in a place so that it is not damaged during the IntelliSound installation process. Remove the body lamps from the lower section of the tanning system following the procedure outlined below: Store lamps in a place so that they are not damaged during the IntelliSound installation process. 2. Use the template provided with the IntelliSound components, working from the inside out. Drill out the mounting holes using the ¼” drill bit (Figure A) and use the hardware provided to attach the IntelliSound speaker assembly to the tanning system (FIGURE B and FIGURE C). FIGURE A FIGURE B FIGURE C Hardware Assembly: 3. You may leave the IntelliSound power supply on the floor if desired or mount it to the tanning systems leg using the hole locations with the hardware provided.. Connections: IntelliSound Connections: The cover of the IntelliSound power supply must be removed to complete its installation. The following procedure should be followed to complete the installation (all cables must be placed through the holes provided): • • • • • • • Remove the display cable from the Intellitan power board Connect the cable installed in position “B” to the Intellitan power board Connect the cable disconnected from the Intellitan power board to the available location at position “B” in above illustration. Connect the cable from the IntelliSound assembly to the connector available in position “A” in the illustration above. Re-install the cover on the IntelliSound power supply Attach speaker wires to connector “E” in the connections illustration Audio wires from the IntelliSound system should be connected to position “D” Audio Connections: C D A B D E A - Antenna Connection FM B - Right & Left (External Music Source) Studio Channel C - DMX Connection D - Auxilary Audio In (Left & Right) MP3 E - Right & Left Speaker Connection Electrical: To avoid personal injury and damage to the electronic components inside the IntelliSound, the power to the tanning system must be turned off before any service is performed. To make the electrical connections for the IntelliSound Audio system to the tanning system, the front façade (lower décor panel) of the tanning system must be removed. The procedure to remove the façade is shown in the illustrations below. FIGURE A FIGURE B The IntelliSound Audio System requires 230V to operate. There are two power leads coming from the IntelliSound audio system. Typically, these power leads will be red or black in color. The power wires for the IntelliSound Audio System should be passed through the opening shown in illustration A (above). One lead should me connected to an available spade receptacle in positions one through six (see illustration below), the second lead should be connected to an available spade receptacle in positions 7 through twelve (positions 5 and 11 are recommended). To avoid operational issues with the tanning system and the IntelliSound system, assure that the connections are secure and the spade connectors are properly positioned over the spade receptacle (see FIGURE B & C). FIGURE C Parameters: The CCS and T-Max network control systems may be used to set available user definable parameters of the IntelliSound system.
