Move the seat to the 'desired position then install seat pivot and O.A. pin. TRACTOR BREAK-IN PROCEDURE Never operate a new engine immediately under full load. Break it in carefully as shown in the table below. Period Engine Speed Control Lever Position Load 1st Hour 1iOO-2000 rpm Light 2nd through 5th Hour Fully Advanced Moderate Your new tractor is delivered with proper adjustment and careful inspection. However, do not operate the tractor with heavy loads during the first 20 working hours. Overloading may result in prematu re wear. Warm up the tractor for at least 5 minutes. Especially in cold climates, a warm-up period is required until engine oil reaches operating temperature. During first 100 hours of operation (Gasoline tractor) or 50 hours of operation (Diesel tractor) with shipaway .oil, avoid prolonged periods of engine idling. 19 PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE Fan-Alternator Belt Disconnnect the coupling of hydraulic pump drive on the crankshaft pulley by removing three connecting bolts, and slide the coupling off so that the belt can slip off the crankshaft pulley. Work the belt over the fan blades to remove it. Fan-Alternator Belt Adjustment To remove water pump-governor belt, loosen governor idler pulley bolt and slacken the belt by screwing tension bolt in. Loosen brace bolt "A" and mounting bolt "8". See illustration. Slip the belt off the water pump pulley and crankshaft pulley. Move the alternator away from the engine until the tension on the belt is 1/2-inch (13 mm) measured between the water pump and crankshaft pulleys. NOTE: Fan-alternator belt must be removed to remove the water pump-governor belt. Tighten the.brace bolt "A" and the mounting bolt "8". I nstallation of new belts are in the reverse order of removal. Tighten connecting bolts to a torque of 11~23 ft -I bs (15~ 31 N m ) . FAN BELT TENSION (Diesel tractor) Removing and Replacing the Belt New belt should be checked after the first 10 hours of engine operation and every 50 hours of engine operation thereafter to assure maintenance of the correct tension. Replace the belt if it becomes soaked with grease. To remove fan-alternator belt, loosen alternator brace bolt and mounting bolt. The tension is correct when the belt deflection is approximately 3/8 in (10 mm). Move the alternator in toward the engine· and slip the old belt off the alternator. 50
