Introducing Sony’s NU-IP40S/D IP Converters and NU-NM11B Network System Manager. Now you can convert your HD or 4K medical images to IP data and transmit them to a variety of medical equipment over a single optical fiber cable in virtual real-time. That means you can easily distribute 4K patient images from the O.R. to monitors, recorders, and other devices within the O.R. suite or into lecture halls or doctors’ offices.
Reliable IP technology • Uses fiber optic cabling to reduce artifacts (image distortion) caused by electronic scalpels • Uses FEC (Forward Error Correction) to ensure highly reliable video transmission • Enables uninterrupted video transmission (in compressed mode) because of redundant network cabling (two optical cables), even if one of cables is disconnected • Indicates status on system indicator and link indicator if a network cable is disconnected, helping to prevent serious problems
Along with the IP converters, the NU-NM11B Network System Manager Software manages the IPCs and allows operators to easily route videos to destination devices, via an O.R. controller.
Configurable, connectible, expandable • Transmits video to multiple receivers via a network switch • Can output 4K video to an HD monitor after down-converting to HD • Can work either as a transmitter or receiver • Is ideal for O.R. environments

Features of the NU-NM11B Network System Manager Software • Controls the communication with the IP converter • Enables control from a general-purpose O.R. controller via an API (Application Programming Interface) • Includes functions to notify the O.R. controller of its communication status—for example, sends an alert if a cable is disconnected during a surgical procedure • Creates a thumbnail image from modalities with a connected IP converter and sends images to the O.R. controller • Enables O.R. controller to control modalities or AV devices remotely via the RS-232C connection of the IP converter
