IP DECT Mobility Solutions Overview The IP DECT solution delivers all the benefits of IP-based converged communications with the convenience of in-building wireless communications. Designed to support a large numbers of users—up to 120 handsets and 32 base stations—the IP DECT system enables users to carry a wireless phone and get full access to the features they are accustomed to using at their desk phone. (Avaya recommends that for full feature functionality the 3701 and 3711 handsets be used with the IP DECT solution.) The IP DECT solution, which connects to the IP Office using a variant of the H.323 protocol, can support users in different offices that are connected via a WAN. An IP DECT cordless handset can travel from one office to another, making and taking calls.
