IP Dome Quick Install Guide A. Bench Installation
C. Site Installation
D. Latitude NVMS Configuration
1. Connect the dome housing to your computer using the supplied crossed network cable (alternatively, you may connect the two devices through a switch with two straight-through network cables).
1. Push the “pigtail” CAT5 connector and power wires into the dome housing.
1. Launch Latitude AdminCenter and configure the camera. Make sure to give it a meaningful name; set up its recording and viewing qualities; assign archiving schedules to it; and define its analog format (PAL/NTSC) in its Attributes configuration pane.
2. Connect the dome’s positive and negative power wires to a 24 VAC power supply. 3. Insert the dome drive into the dome housing. The dome should begin its initialization process.
B. Encoder Configuration 1. Install the DVTel ActiveX extensions from the firmware folder of the installation CD. 2. Launch Internet Explorer, go to Tools>Internet Options>Security, and set all ActiveX options for the Local intranet zone to Enable or Prompt. In addition, check which version of Java is installed on your computer by going to Tools>Internet Options>Security. If you do not have version 1.4.2 or later, download Java from http://java.com. 3. Change your IP address to one in the 192.168.0.X range by going to Start>Network Connections> Local Area Network>Properties> Internet Protocol(TCP/IP) and manually entering an IP address. 4. Back in Internet Explorer, go to the initial dome IP address indicated on the sticker affixed to the dome housing. Click Settings, Configurator, Service Settings and Network Settings and give the unit an IP address in the same IP scheme as Latitude. Set the RCP+ port so that it corresponds to the extension of the Latitude Media Archiver that is to archive video from the dom. Click Set and then one of the reboot links. M9630A, May 2005
2. Screw the housing into its mount (pendant, wall, etc.) and push your network cable and power wires into the housing. 3. Open the circuit board inside the housing by twisting its thumb screw. Connect your network cable to the CAT5 connector you pushed into the housing in step 1 (rather than directly to the encoder board); and your power wires to the ones coming out of the first and last pins of the 3block connector on the dome board (see diagram below). Finally, push all the wires deeper into the housing and close the circuit board.
2. Change the dome’s serial port settings to match those shown in the screen-shot to the left. 3. Right click in the System View pane and choose Create>PTZ. Highlight your camera and select DVTel IP as your PTZ protocol.
4. Insert the dome drive into the housing and Attach the dome cover. Use the provided silicone lube to lube the “o-ring.” For outdoor units, connect power to the cover’s heater.
Warning: When connecting the dome to power, make sure to insulate all exposed wires. Note: The dome comes with a factory-assembled “service loop” to reduce stress on the power and network cables. DVTel recommends that you tie your cables to the “service loop.”
4. Change the PTZ number to 1. Switch to the Test tab to create presets and patterns for the dome and to access its menu (refer to the menu tree on the other side of the page).
