1. Making a Call
What is IP telephony?
1. Pick Up handset and dial ‘0’ for external or dial internal telephone number (wait for answer).
The use of IP signalling methods to send voice traffic across a data network. Voice signals are broken down into pockets and reassembled at the receiving end. This eliminates the need for separate voice and data networks by converging all traffic on one network.
OR 2. Dial ‘0’ for external automatically without picking up receiver to activate hands free mode
NB: To dial the operator/reception press 9 and 0 for an outside line NO ANSWER INTERNAL OPTIONS
In sequential order:
LS ANNOUNCE CALL BACK
Broadcasts a voice message on the loudspeaker of the free handset. Leaves a call back message (or by dialling 5)
These options can be accessed by using the Navigator (up & down) key adjacent to the display screen.

Mail The mail key will flash orange to indicate that voicemail deposit or a missed call from an external or internal number. Redial Last number Redial

To make or answer a call with out lifting the receiver. • Lit in hands free mode or headset mode (short press) • Flashing in Loudspeaker mode (long press)

Display Options The screen displays the date/time, conversation duration of call and caller identification.
During a conversation: press this key so that your correspondent can no longer hear you. Terminal Idle: press this key to answer calls automatically without picking up the receiver.
Up & Down Navigator: Used to navigate around the home page, through the menus or in text mode to enter characters. OK key: Used to validate your choices
Volume

To adjust the loudspeaker or handset volume up or down.
Back/Exit key: Used to return to a previous menu

You are able to switch between two active calls at any one time and speak to each correspondent in turns.
When calling an automated service that requires you to select options via an automated service, you will need to dial # # after completing the number dialled.

Whilst in conversation dial your second correspondent, the first caller will go on hold automatically. You will then be activated with your second caller. To switch between the two callers, use your Navigator to scroll up or down until you reach the Broker function. Once you have located the Broker function, select the OK key.
2. When second correspondent answers, place the receiver down or press the hang up key. Call Holding Making an Enquiry Call

Whilst in conversation, you will see a green light, indicating that you are on a call. Press the black soft key (Line) that relates to the indicator. This will place your caller on hold.

To retrieve the call, press the line again.
1. Whilst in conversation with first caller, dial second caller. Once you have completed your conversation with your second caller, press the ENQ OFF key to return to your waiting caller. To do this you will need to use your Navigator (up & down) key, select ENQ OFF and press OK.
Three Way Party Conferences To activate a 3 way party conference you will need to follow the following steps: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5.
Dial your first correspondent Prompt your first caller that they will be placed on hold for a brief moment and advise of the 3-way party conference activation. Dial your second correspondent and advise of the 3-way party conference. Using your Navigator, scroll down until your find ‘Conference’. Once you have located the Conference function, select the OK key.

NB: during the tone/melody selection you are able to press – or + (Audio Keys) to increase or decrease the tone/melody.
