IPS 180 Parcel Scale Revision A1, November 2013 1. Introduction Thank you for purchasing this parcel scale. Please read this guide to become familiar with the operation of this product. Save this guide for future reference. 2. Specifications • Min. Capacity: 500 g / 1.2 lb / 1 lb 4 oz, Max. Capacity: 400 lb / 180 kg • Division: 0.05 kg / 0.1 lb / 2 oz • Weighing Unit: kg, lb, lb:oz • Operation keys: Hold, Unit, On/Off/Tare • Power: A/C adapter; Output 4.5vdc 50ma (included) • 3xAA batteries (not included) • Battery Low Indication: “LO”<3.6V ±0.2V • Auto off Time: Selectable 0-5 Minutes. Default setting is 3 minutes • Auto zero tracking: <4d • Overload Indication: “EEEEE” • Wall mount indicator holder bracket with self adhesive pads and screw holes 3. Basic Operations • Battery installation and power supply. Install 3xAA batteries into battery compartment at the back of the indicator or you can power on the scale by using an external power supply. Note: Battery and power supply can be used at the same time but if being used simultaneously, the scale will use the power supply as the priority source of power. Using the power supply will not charge rechargeable batteries if fitted. • Power on. Place the scale on a hard, flat and level surface. Press On/Off/Tare key to power it on, it will display “88888”, a few seconds later it displays “0.0lb” or “0.00kg” or “0: 0lb oz” and is in the weighing mode. © Inscale Ltd. 2013 1 • Unit. You can choose the display weight as kg, lb or lb:oz. When in weighing mode, press Unit key to toggle between the three units of measure. • Normal weighing. You can get the weight reading after loading objects on the weighing platform. When the weight reading is stable, the current weight on the display will be automatically frozen. Press Hold key to clear the hold function and reweigh. • HOLD function. You can set the HOLD function to manual HOLD and auto HOLD. Short press Hold key to auto HOLD and long press Hold key to change between auto HOLD and manual HOLD. When the display shows “0.0. HOLD 1” this means it is in auto HOLD, and HOLD 2 is manual HOLD. When selected, the mode will become effective and switch back to weighing mode 2 seconds later. • TARE function. You can press On/Off/Tare key to tare a weight off the scale. • Power off. The scale is set up to automatically power off in 3 minutes when there is no operation on the scale. You can also manually power off the scale by pressing and holding the On/Off/Tare for more than 2 seconds. 4. Auto-off time setup 1) When in the normal weighing mode, press and hold down On/Off/Tare and Unit buttons for 5 seconds until the LCD displays all the symbols. 2) Release On/Off/Tare and Unit buttons, the LCD displays now reads the inner code. Press On/Off/Tare button for more than 2 seconds until “P1:XY” is shown, that means the scale is in auto-off time setup mode. 3) When X flashes, press Unit and On/Off/Tare buttons at the same time to change the flashing digit. For this scale, X is fixed to “0”. Press Unit button to switch the flashed position between X and Y. 4) When Y flashes, press Unit and On/Off/Tare buttons at the same time to change the flashing digit (0-7 selectable; 0=no auto-off function, 1=30s, 2=60s, 3=90s, 4=120s, 5=180s, 6=240s, 7=300s). Default setting is 5. 5) Press On/Off/Tare button to confirm. When the parameter setting is confirmed, then the scale powers off automatically. © Inscale Ltd. 2013 2 5. Calibration Your scale is factory calibrated. This process enables you to re-perform full calibration if you need to. Before calibrating the scale, you require standard 50kg and 100kg weights. 1) When in normal weighing mode, press and hold down On/Off/Tare and Unit buttons for 5s until the LCD displays all the symbols. 2) Release On/Off/Tare and Unit buttons, the LCD displays the inner code. 3) Move away any weights on the platform and wait till the scale comes steady, then press On/Off/Tare, the LCD displays " 0.0kg", that means the scale will begin to calibrate scale’s zero-point. 4) When the zero-point inner code stays stable and is saved automatically, LCD displays " 50.0kg", that means the scale will be calibrated on the first calibration point. Load the 50kg weight on the platform. 5) When the inner code for 50.0kg is stable and saved automatically, LCD displays " 100.0kg", that means the scale will be calibrated on the second calibration point. Remove the 50kg weight and load the 100kg weight on the platform. 6) When the inner code for 100.0 kg is stable and saved automatically, LCD displays " 150.0kg", that means the scale will be calibrated on the third calibration point. Add the 50kg weight to the 100kg weight already on the platform. 7) When the above procedures are finished, the scale powers off automatically.
