IPTV Troubleshooting How do I connect a laptop to the monitor in the bedroom? There are two inputs on the screen, VGA and DVI. Therefore, there are two connection options: 1. If the laptop has a VGA connection, then the screen will accept this via VGA to VGA cable; or 2. If it has an HDMI output (increasingly common on newer laptops), then you will need to have an HDMI to DVI cable or adaptor, as DVI is the only other available screen input. The screen input will need to be changed to the appropriate input channel. This can be done by scrolling through the ‘Enter’ button on the bottom right of the screen, until the correct channel is selected. Please note that it is not recommended that the HDMI (television/Exterity box), cable be disconnected from the screen. How do I connect a games console to the TV in the Lounge? This can be done very simply by connecting the device to the HDMI socket in the wall, just above the shelving unit. The television input channel (Source) then has to be changed to HDMI 2, which can be done by using the menu on the screen, accessed by the ‘toggle’ button on the right hand side of the rear of the screen……. ….and selecting HDMI2 from the menu. When wishing to change back to watching IPTV, HDMI1 will need to be selected from the same menu. What to do if the IPTV system is not working in bedroom. Check power and network cables Ensure the network (grey), cable is fully plugged in, and the mains plug is inserted and switched on. If network cable is correctly inserted into the wall socket, and into the blue IPTV box, then there should be two lights above the cable socket: one flashing green; and one amber Check HDMI cable Ensure the dark grey HDMI cable is connected between the blue Exterity box… …and the HDMI input on the screen. Turning on the Screen The remote control operates both the Exterity box and the screen. When the power button on the remote control is pressed, the screen should automatically come on, and the UoB Home screen should be showing. If the screen doesn’t turn on, press the power button, and it should then illuminate orange (standby). When the Exterity box is on, the light will glow green. The HDMI channel must be selected on the screen. In order to change this, press the ‘Enter’ button until HDMI channel is selected. If the remote control doesn’t work… Ensure that the sensor, is placed on top of the screen and the inserted into the sensor input on the Exterity box.
