IRLinX IRL1 Infrared Receiver IRLinX allows the integrator the flexibility of choosing where a NetStreams IR receiver can be placed in a zone. The half-domed NetStreams IR receiver can be positioned in a location where the user would naturally point an IR remote. A remote can be programmed to take advantage of DigiLinX Network IR Passthrough and to utilize DigiLinX Discreet IR commands to improve the user experience.

Flexible placement of IR Receiver IRLinX is a small matte black plastic adapter that bridges the EIM connection on a SpeakerLinX to a NetStreams IR Receiver (included). The small form factor of the adapter and the half-domed IR receiver provide flexibility in discreetly locating the device. The adapter must be located within 65 feet of the EIM port on the KeyLinX or SpeakerLinX if no KeyLinX is used (EIM Splitter must be used). Accepts 38 kHz to 56kHz IR Remotes The IRLinX can be configured to work with remotes operating at 38kHz to 56kHz IR frequencies. The installer specifies the optimal frequency in DigiLinX Dealer Setup. EIM Support The IRLinX uses the EIM port to interface with DigiLinX. This allows The IRLinX to connect to the KeyLinX or to the SpeakerLinX if a KeyLinX is not used in that zone. An Audio Port will operate with an IRLinX if both devices are connected through an EIM Splitter.

DigiLinX Discreet IR Commands In addition to supporting native IR from legacy audio/video sources, the IRLinX can also recognize DigiLinX Discreet IR commands. These are specific IR commands that execute DigiLinX specific actions. For example,a DigiLinX Discreet IR command could be used to mute the audio in that zone. There are also specific commands for selecting a specific source and executing a DigiLinX macro.

Network IR Passthrough IR from the remotes of legacy sources or from programmable remotes can be routed from the IRLinX to the currently active source using Network IR Passthough. When the IRLinX detects a non-DigiLinX Discreet code it converts the IR signal into IP packets, routes them to the current active source where the MediaLinX converts them back into IR for the legacy source. This allows users to use existing remotes.
