Required Tools: • Jacket Stripper • Diagonal Cutters • Small Flathead Screwdriver • Parallel Jaw Pliers
1
Install boot, narrow end first.
Using the CPT cable preparation tool or equivalent, strip off approximately 1-2 inches (2551mm) of cable jacket.
2
Untwist and flatten the conductors in preparation for insertion.
3
Insert crimp ring into the housing with the rounded side forward (contact side).
4
CRITICAL STEP
Lace the conductors through the housing and the crimp ring and into the termination cap. Orient the conductors in accordance with color-coded dot on cap.
5
Note: Cable jacket should be inserted through the crimp ring and up against termination cap.
While maintaining inward pressure on cable, use the diagonal cutters or equivalent to trim excess conductors flush with termination cap.
6
Maintain inward pressure on cable and use parallel jaw pliers to terminate conductors. Squeeze cap flush with connector housing.
7
Note: Cable jacket should be up against termination cap.
Using a small flathead screwdriver or equivalent, press and crimp the metal ring securely onto the cable jacket.
8
Incorrect: Jacket is not under crimp ring.
