Digital Video Surveillance Systems ITIntegrated Solutions PO Box 210605 Montgomery, AL 36121 334.386.ITIS 4, 8, & 16 Port Video Capture Boards 16 Camera Full Screen Display Remote Camera View Software 16 Camera Display w/Controls Remote Web View 4 Camera Display w/Controls PDA Remote View These PCI compatible, add-in boards will process full color 320x240 and 640x480 CCTV camera images at 30 or 120 Frames per Second. The boards support four, eight, or up to sixteen CCTV cameras. The CCTV cameras can be all color or all B/W or a mixture of both. Local (server) software is Windows 98 or Windows 2000 compatible and remote software is Windows 95, 98, 2000, and NT compatible. Local and remote versions are provided. The local (server) software can only be run on one system, while the remote software can be run on an unlimited number of systems. The remote software can be run on computers in a Local Area Network (LAN) using TCP/IP protocol and in remote systems dialing in over a direct modem connection, high-speed line and/or over the Internet. Recording is accomplished when motion is detected in any camera field (or continuously or at preset times). Although computers with a speed of at least 500MHz, 64MB RAM, 16MB Video RAM and a minimum 10GB free hard disk space are advised by the manufacturer, we strongly recommend at least an 800MHz Intel P3 processor, 256MB RAM and a 60GB hard disk (P3 1GHz or P4 recommended for 8 and 16 port GV800 boards). 2 Key features: • Each CCTV camera has its own configuration Video quality, alarm notification, mask areas, motion detection or continuous recording, motion detection sensitivity, compression mode (MPEG4 or wavelet), smart recording, camera name and brightness/contrast/hue/saturation can be set in the software for each camera. • Video Resolution Camera images can now be displayed and recorded in a choice of 640x480 or 320x240 pixels. All cameras images must run at the same resolution although this can be changed at any time. • Motion Detection When motion is detected in a camera field in an unmasked area, recording commences. Recordings are made in video clips, which are date and time stamped in a log file. Log files can be stored locally or remotely over a network. We have found the motion detection sensitivity of the Multicam software to be one of the best available • Mask Function Areas of camera fields where motion is to be ignored can be user defined (masked), for each camera. Multiple mask areas per camera are permitted. Areas inside a mask can be cleared. • Smart Recording Smart recording can be selected by camera. This enables the full available recording speed to be allocated only to cameras that are actually recording at any particular time. • Digital Watermarking Digital watermarking can be selected for recordings. Any recorded video exported from the original hard drive recordings are thus ensured to be unedited. This is a particularly important point when video is to be used as evidence in court. • Recording Playback The log files of recorded video clips can be sorted and accessed by year/date/time. Video recordings can be played back while current recording is taking place (recording speeds will slow down). Recordings can be zoomed in/out and moved around the viewing area, on playback. Recordings can be played back at normal speeds, higher speeds, slower speeds or frame by frame. Recordings can be played back by individual camera or all cameras at a time. Switching from multi-camera to singlecamera playback is as simple as clicking on a particular camera window while playback is operational. Additional editing features are provided for image sharpening, exporting, adjusting brightness/contrast and printing. Video clips can be exported as .avi files, playable in Microsoft media Player or similar. Individual frames can be exported in many file formats, including .jpg's. Exported video clips can have the date, time and camera name stamped on the video in a choice of colors. • Anytime/Anywhere Access Real time, remote camera viewing via modem, Internet, Webcam, or TCP/IP in a LAN, is supported. Now you can see what is happening wherever you may be. Remote recording is also supported. Remote viewing speeds of up to 30fps are supported (depends on number of active cameras and speed of communication line). Local recordings can be played back remotely although playback speed will be affected by the type of communication used. The Webcam system is capable of delivering up to 16 channels of real time video. Each channel can be a direct mapping of all 16 cameras of a single GV-System. Or, you can have each channel connecting to a different GV-System and monitor 16 different GV-Systems simultaneously within a single web page. 3 • Audio Recording With the addition of audio recording, you are now able to record and playback both audio and video at the same time. Which gives you a more precise picture of the captured event. • Alarm Notification A notification of motion detection and recording can be immediately sent to a remote telephone, pager or computer. Post alarm recording will allow easy integration with current alarm systems to provide video based on alarm triggers. • Live Monitoring from A PDA Device The new wireless application called G-View extends the GV-System's networking capability to the next level. G-View enables authorized users to view video from any networked GV-System in realtime on any Windows CE-based PDA. Users can switch to view different camera, perform PTZ (pan, tilt, zoom) control, or taking snapshots from the live videos. • Zoom in/Zoom out Zoom any one camera in or out by mouse clicks or on playback in single camera or multi-camera playback modes. Camera views zoomed past the limits of the viewing window can be moved around to see any area. • Storage Capacity As available disk space runs out, the system will overwrite the video clips with the earliest dates. Recording can be specified for any single hard drive or for multiple drives. EXAMPLE SYSTEM LAYOUT 4 CAMERAS 84K0 1/4" COLOR DOME CCD CAMERA MODEL NO. CCTV Cameras with an integral lens are less expensive but do not offer lens choices and are therefore limited in their usefulness. The important factors that govern the choice of lens are: Focal Length Lenses either have a fixed or variable focal length. Manually variable focal length lenses are called Vari-Focal Lenses. Electrically powered variable focal length lenses are called Zoom Lenses and while they are often used in high-end video surveillance systems, they are generally too expensive for use in most systems. The focal length of a lens is usually given in Millimeters (mm). Focal lengths of most CCTV camera lenses vary from 3.6mm to 16mm for fixed focal length lenses, to well over 70mm for zoom lenses. So what does that mean? In general short focal length lenses (e.g. 4mm) have wide fields of view. This is good for close-ups or for seeing a large area. Objects appear smaller, rapidly, as distance from the camera increases. As lens focal length increases, the field of view narrows and more distant objects are easier to define. Take a look at the table below: Field of View (in feet) Lens Viewable Angle 5 feet away Focal (Degrees) Length Horiz. Vert. Horiz. An 8mm or even 12mm lens would be far better. 9 104 The Lens Iris CCTV Cameras that are used in good and constant light conditions (e.g. indoors with electric lighting) will perform satisfactorily with a "Fixed Iris Lens". Fixed Iris lenses with fixed focal length are the least expensive and the most widely used. In varying light conditions (e.g. outside or inside facing a window) the iris on the camera will need to open and close to accommodate changes in light intensity, otherwise the camera images will be too bright or too dark. Lenses with electrically powered irises which automatically adjust as light conditions change are called "Auto Iris Lenses". They are more expensive but do a much better job in varying light conditions. In constant light conditions that are either dim or very bright, a "Manual Iris Lens" may be the answer. As it's name implies, this type of lens can have the Iris aperture adjusted by hand to give the optimum camera image quality. Pricing for "Manual Iris" lenses is higher than Fixed Iris and lower than Auto Iris lenses. The "F Stop" value of the lens. While "F Stop" is actually a ratio between focal length and lens aperture, in practice, when comparing lenses of the same focal length, it is an indication of the lens aperture. The smaller the "F Stop" the wider the lens aperture and the more light that lens will let into the camera. This is of particular importance in lenses with adjustable irises (both manual and auto). Our vari-focal, manual and auto-iris lenses have an "F Stop" value of 1.0, giving a far better aperture than most and consequently a better image, particularly in lower light conditions. 10 POWER SUPPLY The Altronix ALTV1224-DC/ALTV1224-DC2 DC CCTV Power Supply is designed with eight (8) /sixteen (16) individually fused outputs for powering CCTV Cameras and other video accessories.
