The GN2000 series headset VS the GN2100 series headset. GN 2000 series: The GN2000 series is preferred by Call Centers because they have a bigger foam ear cushion to reduce the interference from co-workers that are possibly right next to you in a Call Center environment. The GN2000 series also has a flexible boom that allows the user to position the microphone next to or in front of their mouth depending on their personal preference since they are on the phone constantly for their job. The GN2000 series is also very durable, and since a Call Center is out of business if the people can’t talk on their phones hands free because they are usually typing in the computer or making notes on every call. The headset can cover one or two ears depending on the noise level where it is being used and the personal preference of the user. The Monaural goes over one ear and the Binaural goes over two ears. NOTE: If the part number is followed by USB then the headset has a USB connection on the cable and can plug directly into a USB port on a computer to work with an IP soft phone not a desk phone. You can also connect to a desk phone with a Smart cable or an amplifier desk unit. The desk amplifier has a volume control and a headset/handset toggle that many users like over the Smart cable because it is right there on the desk and they do not have to go into the phone system programming to make adjustments. To see if you need an amplifier for any headset to work on a particular telephone there is a compatibility chart that will give you this information or you can always use an amplifier with a headset and you can’t go wrong. The amplifiers that you would need are the GN8000 or the GN8210. The GN 8210 is used on Digital telephones for better clarity and to keep the volume constant through out the call, but it can be used on other phones that are not digital but it cost a little more. GN 2100 Series: The GN 2100 series is a more elegant headset. That is because it is lighter then the GN2000 series and the ear cushions are made of a very soft leather not foam and can be cleaned easily. The GN 2100 series can be warn over the head also it can be worn over the ear if it is Monaural (over only one ear), this is a concern for users that do not want the headset to mess up their hair.
