Frequently asked questions Q How does the Jabra M5390 work? A The Jabra M5390 Multiuse headset is supplied together with the Jabra A335w Dongle and the Jabra M5390 Multiuse base. This unique combination allows you to use one single headset for all your communication needs. The Jabra M5390 Multiuse headset connects simultaneously to mobile phones and deskphones - or to mobile phones and PC softphones. The headset base together with the headset is used together with your deskphone. The dongle allows the headset to communicate with your softphone through your PC or laptop. Simply press the dedicated key to answer a call - after removing the Jabra M5390 Multiuse headset from the headset cradle. To answer a call on a telephone without a headset button, lift the handset from the telephone for the duration of the call. To end the call, simply replace the handset on the telephone. If you receive a call on your mobile phone, simply take the headset out of the headset cradle and press the answer/end button. To end a call, press the answer/end button and place the headset in the cradle. Q Does the Jabra M5390 Multiuse support remote answerer? A Yes! To activate this function, add a remote answerer (accessory GN1000) to the Jabra M5390 Multiuse. This allows you to answer calls with the Jabra M5390 Multiuse without returning to your desk or lifting the handset from the telephone. When a call comes in, the remote answerer sends a tone to the headset. When the headset is activated, the lifter raises the phone’s handset off the hook automatically. Q Are there other wearing styles available for the Jabra M5390 Multiuse? A Yes, a headband is included in the pack and a neckband is available as an accessory. Q I hear myself when I talk. What can I do? A Your transmit volume level (please refer to section 3 in the manual) is probably too high. Set the transmit volume level to a lower level. Q The headset is not working with my desk phone/ softphone or mobile phone: A Make sure the headset is charged. The visual indicator on the headset turns green when charging is complete. Make sure you are within range of the base/dongle or mobile phone. The base/dongle/mobile and the headset may have lost its pairing. Your headset needs to be paired to the base/dongle or mobile phone. (See section 9 in the manual)

Q The sound in the headset is of poor quality or the person I am connected to can’t hear me. A Make sure that you have positioned the clear dial tone switch correctly. To do this call a friend and adjust the clear dial switch to the required level. (See section 3 in the manual)
Q I have moved desk at work. Is it possible to put my headset onto another base? A Yes. The headset only needs to be paired to the new base. (See section 9 in the manual) Q The volume in my headset when using the mobile phone is low? A Increase the volume on the headset (or phone). As the volume level needed might be different on your deskphone and mobile phone it might be best to adjust the level on the phones. Then use the headset volume level adjustments for general adjustments: Ensure that the headset is paired with the mobile phone. Q I hear a low noise in the headset when there is no call? A Make sure the voice link between the base and the headset is off (press the answer/end button) Q I hear a low noise in the headset when there is silence on the other end? A You probably have set your headset to one of the highest volume settings. If your phone has a volume button, turn this up a bit and turn down the headset’s volume a little. Q Can WiFi and the Jabra M5390 Multiuse coexist in the same location? A Yes, the Jabra M5390 Multiuse uses adaptive frequency hopping, so that channels that are blocked by Wi-Fi, etc., will not be used – only the free channels are used to ensure a good sound quality. Q Is it possible to listen in on calls with the Jabra M5390 Multiuse? A The risk of unauthorized access to communication via a Bluetooth headset is very limited. The M5390 Multiuse uses 128 bit encryption. Q What is DSP (Digital Signal Processing)? A A digital processor enhances the incoming voice/audio signal and removes sound impurities from noisy environments, mobile phones, etc. The Jabra M5390 has DSP both in the base and headset. Q What is the range on the M5390 Multiuse? A The range between the headset and the base or the headset and the dongle is up to 70 meters (230 feet). The range between the headset and a mobile phone is in most cases up to 10 meters (33 feet) depending on the mobile phone.
