JOB DESCRIPTION POSITION TITLE: Network Administrator FLSA STATUS: Salary, Exempt SALARY GRADE: 14 DEPARTMENT: IT APPROVED BY: Director, HR REV DATE: Oct 2010, Apr 2011, Nov 2015 REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS POSITION REPORTS TO: Director of IT POSITIONS SUPERVISED: Helpdesk Specialist GENERAL SUMMARY OF POSITION PURPOSE Design, install, monitor, and troubleshoot all network operations and server infrastructure for multiple locations in Northeast Ohio. Provide technical and administrative support for local and wide area networks using a variety of equipment and application software. Maintain adequate knowledge of production hardware and software to maintain efficiency of the network and users’ utilization of them. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES Install and configure Enterprise POE switches and routers as necessary. Work with vendor support to resolve failures and/or performance issues Perform moves, adds, changes, and deletes in the VOIP phone system. Monitor call quality statistics. Act as technical consultant to Risk Manager to aid in security system installations, monitoring, upgrades, and service Work with vendors to arrange for purchase and maintenance of multi-function devices (typically copy/scan/fax units and laserjet printers). Configure same devices for network printing, scanning, email, and fax services Utilize virtualization software on appropriate hardware platforms to realize the benefits of virtualized servers. Maintain backups of virtualized servers for maximum fault tolerance and availability Specify and purchase desktop computers and network server hardware with appropriate configurations (including RAID arrays, redundant power supplies, ample storage capacity) for maximum availability, performance, and usable life Maintain reliable and secure VPN support for mobile users and vendors requiring remote access to the credit union network Assist in providing support relating to software and hardware problems Work with network security providers to respond to security events, plan and implement firewall changes, and schedule penetration tests both internal and external Maintain high level knowledge of operating systems and application software to provide superior level of support to end users Act as technical contact for new facilities projects including new branches. Work with contractors to specify power and data requirements Install new software applications and hardware on the LAN coordinating assistance from third parties when necessary Securely dispose of hard drives, copiers, and other media that may contain sensitive data Add and maintain users on the network Utilize backup software and hardware to minimize potential loss of data. Perform data restore functions for end users requiring access to archived, corrupted, or deleted data Carry a smartphone and respond to incidents 24x7 Manage the credit union's internet services including registering and renewing domain names, applying for and renewing certificates, and monitoring up time of member facing services. Utilize industry standard solutions to ensure employee compliance with email usage and web browsing Install workstations and printers Utilize technology to provide staff with a fast, accurate, and secure method of gaining access to information so they can service members in the fastest and most efficient manner possible Evaluate and recommend purchases of software and hardware to satisfy the technology needs of CFCU. Meet with existing and potential vendor representatives to ensure best technical solutions for the credit union. Assists in formulating departmental capital budget Plan and implement network security, including specifying and/or building firewalls, intrusion detection sensors, and scanners Maintain a broad knowledge of state of the art network architectures and communications systems. Stays abreast of best practices in the industry and implements same whenever possible Reviews and approves telecommunication, maintenance contracts, and other IT invoices on a timely basis Adhere to and uphold all written policies and procedures of the credit union, including BSA/CIP and OFAC monitoring and reporting, security operation and personnel policies. Perform other duties as assigned REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE Microsoft server products including Windows Server 2003 through Windows Server 2012 R2, Hosted Exchange Office 365, Active Directory, Microsoft desktop products including Windows XP, Windows 7, Office 2013 Professional Suite, Citrix – XenServer and Xenapp, VMware vSphere. EXPERIENCE REQUIRED Windows Server 2008 R2 Active Directory, Windows 2008 R2 application and IIS server experience; Windows Server 2008, virtualization technologies Previous LAN/WAN administrator experience preferably with Cisco routers switches Citrix Metaframe / Windows Terminal Services installation/administration experience Previous experience maintaining a Enterprise VoIP telecommunications network including Unified Communications, Voice Mail, and Contact Center software Exchange 2012 administration experience Enterprise level anti-virus and anti-spam VEEAM Backup and replication experience preferred Financial institution experience preferred SKILLS AND ABILITIES Must possess excellent communication skills and be able to maintain system documentation. Ability to work with limited supervision. Must be able to work after hours as required. Strong PC and Network understanding Ability to travel to all the locations at any time Knowledge of best practices focused on security EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION Advanced education required, MS certified LANGUAGE SKILLS Must have the ability to read, analyze and interpret documents. Must be able to respond effectively and in a timely manner to inquiries or problems.
