The Kogan Bluetooth 4.0 Handsfree Headset is a V4.0 Mono to Stereo Bluetooth Headset with Voice Recognition, CVC for clear voice capture, Multipoint functionality and an English incoming number reader. Overview of the Bluetooth 4.0 Handsfree Headset 1. Charging Port (microUSB) 2. ON/OFF Switch 3. LED Light 4. MFB (Multifunction Button) 5. Speaker 6. Volume Up 7. Volume Down 8. Microphone Charging the Battery 1. Plug the AC charger into the headset. 2. Plug the other end of the AC charger into your wall socket. 3. The red LED indicator will light up when the power is being supplied. 4. When the battery is fully charged, the red LED will go out and the blue LED will light up. Charging takes approximately 2 hours. Low Battery Warning The red LED light will flash when the battery is low. At the same time, you can hear the voice prompt, At this time, please charge your headset. On iOS devices only, a battery indicator will also show up in the information bar (as shown to the right). Important • For first time use, please charge the headset fully before use. • You can also charge the Bluetooth Headset via a microUSB to USB cable plugged into your computer. Multifunction Button The multifunction button is used for: Pairing, Answer / End / Reject / Transfer Calls, Voice Dialling, Redial, Play/Pause music. Turning headset ON/OFF To turn the headset on, slide the on/off switch down. The blue LED light will flash and you will hear a voice prompt. The headset will now be turned on. To turn the headset off, slide the on/off switch up. The red LED light will flash and you will hear a voice prompt. The headset will now be turned off. Pairing the Bluetooth Headset You are required to pair the headset with your mobile phone once before using it. 1. Turn on the Bluetooth Headset. The LED light will flash red and blue alternately and go into pairing mode automatically if there is no other previously paired/connected devices in range. 2. Activate Bluetooth on your mobile phone. 3. Set you phone to discover “Jseven” and follow the instructions. 4. If your phone asks for a password/passkey or PIN code, comfirm with '0000' (four zeroes). 5. When the phone and bluetooth headset are paired and connected, you will hear the voice prompt. Note: 1. If the Bluetooth Headset is not in pairing mode, your mobile phone will not be able to find it. Please set the Bluetooth Headset into pairing mode before making your mobile phone search for it. You can manually turn the Bluetooth Headset into pairing mode by pressing and holding the MFB for 2 seconds when the headset is on. 2. If no pairing is possible for a period of time (approximately 2 minutes), the Bluetooth Headset will automatically leave pairing mode and go into idle mode. The blue LED indicator will change to red and flash. Pairing the Bluetooth Headset with a second mobile phone The Bluetooth Headset supports multipoint technology, allowing the headset to be paired with two Bluetooth-enabled mobile phones at the same time. 1. Pair and connect the Bluetooth Headset with the first mobile phone. (Please refer to 'Pairing the Headset' above) 2. Turn off the Bluetooth Headset. 3. Turn off the bluetooth functionality on the first mobile phone. 4. Turn on the Bluetooth Headset and it will go into pairing mode automatically due to no paired/connected devices within range. 5. Pair the Bluetooth Headset with the second mobile phone. Turn off the Bluetooth Headset once the connection is completed. 6. Turn the bluetooth functionality on the first mobile phone back on. 7. Turn the Bluetooth Headset back on. It will automatically connect with both mobile phones. Important If you need to pair and connect the Bluetooth Headset with only one mobile phone, please turn the Multipoint feature of the headset off to avoid possible audio disruption at the beginning of music playing. Audio disruption should only last for approximately 20 seconds. Turning Multipoint functionality ON When the headset is on and not connected to any device, quickly press the V+ and Vbuttons at the same time to turn multipoint functionality on. Turning Multipoint functionality OFF When the headset is on and not connected to any device, press and hold the V+ and V- buttons at the same time for 3 seconds to turn multipoint functionality off. Note: to get optimal music and sound quality with no conflicts from the multipoint feature, we suggest you turn the multipoint functionality off manually whenever you do not need to connect the Bluetooth Headset with 2 mobile phones. Making Calls Once the headset is successfully paired and connected with your mobile phone, you can use it to make and receive calls. The headset can be used with voice dialling if your mobile phone supports this feature. Please consult your mobile phone's user manual for more information. 1. Using voice dialling: Double click the MFB, wait for the voice prompt then say the name of the person you wish to call. 2. Using the phone keys to make a call: Enter and dial the number on the screen of the mobile phone as you would normally do. Once the call has been set up, the sound will be transmitted to your headset automatically. 3. Redial: Press and hold the MFB for 2 seconds to redial the last number you called. Answering / Ending / Rejecting Calls When the headset is turned on and there is an incoming call, you will hear a voice prompt reading the incoming call phone number. – Press the MFB once to answer the call. – Press the MFB once to end the call. – Hold the MFB down for 2 seconds to reject the call. Caller ID Reading The Bluetooth Headset will read the caller's phone number on an incoming call. Put the Call on hold In call wait state: Press and hold the MFB for 2 seconds to put the current call on hold and accept the call waiting. Press and hold the MFB for 2 seconds to resume the first call. Transferring Calls To transfer a call to the mobile phone and back: During both incoming and outgoing calls, you can quickly press the MFB twice to transfer the call to the mobile phone. If you want to transfer the call back to the headset, quickly press the MFB twice again. Note: some mobile phones may require further confirmation. Adjusting the Volume Volume up: Hold down V+ Volume down: Hold down V- Mute and Unmute During a call, quickly press V+ and V- together to mute the call. Press them both again quickly to unmute the call again. Play and Pause music Quickly press the MFB to play or pause music. Next and Previous song Quickly press V+ to go to the previous song. Quickly press V- to go to the next song. Connecting with PC or PDA You are able to connect the Bluetooth Headset with a Bluetooth-enabled PC or PDA. Please refer to the manual of your PC or PDA for setup information. Factory Reset To factory reset the headset, you will have to make sure that the Bluetooth Headset is not connected to any Bluetooth-enabled devices first. Then press and hold the MFB for 5 seconds until the blue and red LED lights come on at the same time for approximately 2 seconds, accompanied by 2 beeps. The beeps and light flashes signal that the factory reset has been successful. Additional Notes The unit does not contain any user-servicable parts.
