The Kaleidescape System Using the Remote Programming the Remote Indicator Light Info Pause Movies Music OK Volume Menu Mute You can program the Volume Up/Down and Mute buttons on the Kaleidescape remote to control the volume on your TV or other device by following these steps. 1 Press and hold the Info and Pause buttons at the same time. When the indicator light at the top of the remote begins blinking, release the buttons. The indicator light stays on and the Kaleidescape remote is now in learning mode. 2 Place the teaching remote and the Kaleidescape remote on a table so that they point at each other and are approximately 6 inches (15 cm) apart. Kaleidescape Remote Teaching Remote 6 inches (15 cm) 3 For each button on the Kaleidescape remote you want to teach, repeat the steps below. Only the Volume Up/Down and Mute buttons can be taught. • Check that the indicator light is still on. If it is off, repeat Step 1. • Press and release the button on the Kaleidescape remote that you want to teach. • Press the button on the teaching remote whose functionality you want to teach to the Kaleidescape remote, and hold it for two seconds. • The indicator light on the Kaleidescape remote blinks twice to indicate success. If the indicator light blinks four times, then you must try again from step 3. 4 When finished press the OK button on the Kaleidescape remote. Using the Remote 1 Turn on the Kaleidescape Player Press the Power button. 2 Select either Movies or Music Press the Movies or Music button. Tip: Press the Menu button to bring up the Kaleidescape menu and to access other views. Movies Music Menu 3 Select a Title Use the Arrow buttons to select a title. Tip: Use the Page Up/Down buttons to scroll by page. 4 Play It Press the Play button to play a movie or music title. Movies Movie List Use the Up/Down Arrow buttons to navigate through movies. To sort by any column in this view, use the Left/Right Arrow buttons to select the column you want to sort and press the OK button. Movie Covers Use the Arrow buttons to highlight a movie. If you pause on a particular cover for a few seconds, related movies will be recommended. Press the OK button for movie details. Movie Collections Use the Left/Right Arrow buttons to navigate through the Collections tabs, and use the Up/Down Arrow buttons to navigate through the items in the selected Collection. Press the OK button to choose the selected item. Movie Overlay When watching a movie, press the Info button to view the current chapter and time remaining. Then use the Arrow and OK buttons to access playback options and to set your own favorite scenes. Parental Control Use the Number buttons on the Kaleidescape remote to enter a parental control passcode. Music Music List Use the Up/Down Arrow buttons to navigate through music. To sort by any column in this view, use the Left/Right Arrow buttons to select the column you want to sort and press the OK button. Music Covers Use the Arrow buttons to highlight an album. If you pause on a particular cover for a few seconds, related albums will be recommended. Press the OK button for music details. Music Collections Use the Left/Right Arrow buttons to navigate through the Collections tabs, and use the Up/Down Arrow buttons to navigate through the items in the selected Collection. Press the OK button to choose the selected item. Music Now Playing Use the Arrow and OK buttons to control the Repeat and Random options. Use the Arrow buttons to select a song from the Now Playing list. Press the Play button to jump to a song or the OK button to view the album details.
