7. Assembly Instructions and Drawings
Description The bridge-breaker for Weigh Scale Blender Models WSB-220/420 is actuated by a 2” Stroke, Double-acting Air Cylinder. It is plumbed to operate concurrently with the dispense gate of the offending material, usually Regrind.

Instructions 1. Ensure that both compartments of the main hopper are empty. 2. Set toggle switch on MAGUIRE Controller left end plate to “IMMEDIATE PAUSE”. 3. Shut off air supply to blender. 4. Remove the hopper lid, including any loaders or receivers. 5. Identify the REGRIND compartment. Looking at the blender with the controller facing you and with the door on the left hand side, the REGRIND compartment is the one closest one to you. 6. Remove Finger Guard from REGRIND compartment. 7. Install bridge-breaker guide bracket to partition using (2) ¼-20 x 5/8 cap screws and ¼-20 nylok nuts supplied. Use the finger guard mtg holes. See installation drawing for correct mounting of guide bracket. 8. Locate and drill (3) Ø9/32 holes on removable hopper partition to install air cylinder mounting bracket. See Figure B for hole locations. NOTE: Air Cylinder should be vertically aligned with welded bolt on guide bracket. 9. Install a 1/8 MPT x 5/32 Press-In (black plastic) elbow into each of the ports of the air cylinder if not already done so. 10. Install air Cylinder mount and air cylinder assembly as shown in figure A. NOTE: Align air cylinder so that airline fittings are aimed towards grommet hole. Figure B shows the correct alignment of fittings. 11. Attach bridge-breaker plate and hardware to lower guide bracket. See figure A. 12. Drill hole on outside of hopper wall to install grommet for air lines running to bridgebreaker air cylinder. See Figure B for approximate location of grommet hole. Be sure that grommet location does not cause air lines to interfere with loaders. Also make sure that grommet will not interfere with lid (hole should be about 1-1/4” down from top of hopper to ensure this). 13. Locate the 5/32 air tubing going to each port of the REGRIND air cylinder. Cut into each and install a 5/32 Press-In “Y” fitting. 14. From each of the “Y” fittings, run some 5/32 tubing to each of the Elbows that you installed on your bridge-breaker cylinder. 15. You’ll want to connect the “back” of the REGRIND cylinder to the “back” of the bridge-breaker cylinder. Same with the “front” ports. (This will ensure that the bridge-breaker extends and retracts along with the REGRIND slide-gate. 16. Ensure that air lines DO NOT interfere with bridge-breaker operation. 17. Turn on air supply to blender. 2

18. Test operation of the bridge-breaker and Regrind slide gate using the “OPERATE” mode on the WSB Controller (refer to WSB Operations Manual). KEEP HANDS CLEAR!!! Ensure that the Regrind slide gate is closed normally and opens during each dispense try and that the bridge-breaker extends and retracts along with the slide-gate. If this is not so, you have switched the air lines from the solenoid valves to the slide gate air cylinder. Simply reverse the air lines to correct. 19. Return the toggle switch to “CONTINUE”. Return blender to normal operation.
