KIT-113: FCA Solenoid Add-On for 110VAC Solenoid Tray Maguire Products, Inc. maguire.com 17 Dec 2009 PARTS LIST P/N QTY DESCRIPTION nv51-2 1 4-Way Solenoid Valve, MAC 45, 120V fpe-5/32 4 90° Swivel Elbow Fitting, 1/8 MPT x 5/32 Press-in sm#4-20 1 #4-40 x 1-1/4 Phillilps Head Machine Screw snn#4 1 #4-40 Nylok Nut tpe532 1 5/32 Dia Airline - 7 ft Length DESCRIPTION This kit supplies the pieces necessary to retrofit a standalone solenoid segment to an older WSB solenoid tray that uses 120VAC solenoids. This solenoid would be used to operate an optional FCA. These instructions assume that the FCA signal wire running to the solenoid tray junction box already exists. The FCA signal wire is yellow and is part of the bundle of signal wires contained in the clear rubber sleeve of the wiring harness. If this is not the case, then you need to contact the Maguire service department to obtain a new wiring harness. A flow control assembly is not included with this kit and would need to ordered separately. INSTALLATION DISCONNECT AIR AND ELECTRIC TO THE BLENDER BEFORE BEGINNING ANY WORK. 1. Install new solenoid to solenoid junction box lid. A) Place solenoid on the underside of the lid to determine best mounting location and then use to mark spots for drilling. 1/8" drill bit will work for marking the spots. B) Remove lid from junction box. C) Drill mounting holes in lid. Use an 1/8" diameter drill bit. D) Use #4-40 hardware to fasten solenoid to lid. 1 KIT-113: FCA Solenoid Add-On for 110VAC Solenoid Tray Maguire Products, Inc. maguire.com 17 Dec 2009 E) Locate YELLOW FCA signal wire in junction box. F) Find an unused set of terminals and connect solenoid wires to terminal strip as shown. G) Reinstall lid to junction box. 2. Connect air supply to new solenoid. A) Remove 1/8" NPT plug from the back of the air regulator and replace with 1/8" MPT x 5/32 press-in elbow fitting (supplied loose with kit). B) Cut off a short length of airline (approximately 6-7") from the 5/32" diameter airline supplied with kit. C) Plumb short length of airline from elbow just installed (in step 2A) to elbow fitting on the inlet port (marked "IN") of the solenoid. 3. Plumb airlines to FCA. A) Cut remaining airline in half and use to connect new solenoid to FCA. Typical Maguire FCA airline connections are: B) Plumb airline from Port "A" of solenoid to nose port of the FCA air cylinder. C) Plumb airline from port "B" of the solenoid to rear port of the FCA air cylinder. 2
