KIT NO. 238-2 1. Important: please use all supplied bolts and parts and read all instructions carefully before beginning this installation. The majority of questions you may have can be answered within the text, and proper installation will ensure safe and secure travel. Now, begin the installation. This bracket kit uses the front frame cross member and steel bumper as attachment points. Temporarily remove the lower front gravel guard. 2. Insert the braces through the front grill from below and behind the bumper and position as illustrated. Center the braces on the front of the car with a hole spacing of 30” and 27” center to center on the front angle clips. This is the hole spacing required to mount a ROADMASTER tow bar. Make sure the bumper and the rear of the braces are against the front of the front frame cross member. Clamp the braces in place and drill two ½” holes in the bottom of the bumper and one ½” hole through the front cross member per brace. Use the braces as drill templates. 3. Bolt the braces to the front of the cross member using two ½” x 3½” bolts, plate washers, lock washers and nuts. Make sure the plate washer is behind the cross member. Bolt through the bumper using two ¼” x 2” x 5¼” backing plates and four ½” x 1½” bolts, lock washers and nuts. 4. Mount the tow bar according to the manufacturer’s instructions, align and tighten all bolts to the torque specifications below. Install the gravel guard.
