About this manual This manual contains information and instructions for the safe operation and maintenance of your Kooptech™ WD 110/60 cULus 3D-glasses washer/drier. Please note carefully the safety notes listed here. Safety notes 2.1 Proper use - The Kooptech™ WD 110/60 cULus 3D-glasses washer/drier is a technical device for commercial use and is not intended for private use. - Use the Kooptech™ WD 110/60 cULus 3D-glasses washer/drier only for washing and drying of stereoscopic 3D glasses (excluding non-waterproof and paper 3D glasses). 2.2 Improper use - This device may be used by children from the age of 8 upwards as well as by those with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or a lack of experience and knowledge if they are supervised or have been instructed on how to safely use the device and understand the risks associated with it. - Children must not play with the device. - Cleaning and user maintenance should not be carried by children without supervision. - The main pump of the machine may become air-bound. The main pump needs to be primed (as described in section 9.5 of this instruction) before working with the machine for the first time, after cleaning the water filter and/or if the machine is being putted back into service after a long period of disuse. - Do not use the washer-drier to anything else than 3D glasses (excluding non-waterproof and paper 3D glasses) stored in appropriate baskets with appropriate covers. - Kooptech-Cinema Sp. z o.o. does not assume liability for any damage caused due to improper use of the device. 2.3 Electrical Safety The electrical safety of this machine is guaranteed only if it is connected to a correctly installed protective circuit and a residual current circuit breaker. It is very important that this basic safety requirement is tested and in case of doubt the house installation is checked by a qualified electrician. 5 KOOPTECH-CINEMA Sp. z o.o. [email protected] Kooptech-Cinema Sp. z o.o. cannot be held responsible for damage caused by a missing or broken earthing system (e.g. electrical shock). 2.4 Safety Instructions for Maintenance and Repairs - Maintenance work and repairs may only be performed by service technicians authorised by Kooptech-Cinema Sp. z o.o. Improper maintenance or repairs may cause significant danger for the user, for which KooptechCinema Sp. z o.o. is not liable. - When performing maintenance and repair work, unplug machine from the power network. Electricity consumers (heating element, frequency inverter etc.) are under voltage until the on-site mains disconnect switch has been operated. - Only original Kooptech-Cinema Sp. z o.o. spare parts may be used for maintenance and repairs. If original spare parts are not used, the warranty is invalidated. - A damaged or leaking machine can endanger your safety. In case of defects, switch off the machine immediately. Switch off the on-site mains disconnector (main switch). Only then is the machine without power. - Do not operate a damaged machine. In case of defects resulting from an unknown cause, switch off and tagout the machine, and do not switch it on until the defect has been rectified. - Contact your installer, electrician or plumber if the on-site water or electricity supply is the cause of the malfunction. - Notify an authorised service technician or your retailer if another fault has occurred. - If the mains cable of this machine is damaged, it must be replaced by qualified person in order to prevent hazards. 2.5 General safety notes - Read through the safety notes and operating instructions in this manual carefully. Retain the operating instructions for future reference. KooptechCinema Sp. z o.o. does not assume liability or warranty in case of nonadherence to these safety and operating instructions. - Do not make changes, additions or reconstructions in the washer-drier without the approval of the manufacturer. 6 KOOPTECH-CINEMA Sp. z o.o. [email protected] - Use the washer-drier only after you have read and understood the operating manual. Allow the Kooptech-Cinema sp. z o.o. authorised service technicians to provide information about the operation and functioning of the washer-drier. Always operate the machine as described in these operating instructions. - Train the operating personnel as regards handling the machine and inform them about the safety notes. Repeat the training sessions at regular intervals to prevent accidents. - For your safety, test the local fault current circuit breaker regularly by pressing the test button. - Switch off the machine main switch and close the machine water shut-off valve after work is complete. 7 KOOPTECH-CINEMA Sp. z o.o. Before working with the machine - Have the machine connected as per the locally applicable standards and the regulations by authorised mechanics (water, waste water, electrical system). - The machine is cULus-listed. The electrical connection has to comply with National Electric Code, NFPA 70. [email protected] 3.2 Main panel The main panel allows normal operation of the machine and features an emergency STOP button. DRUM KEY (on chain, in holder) EMERGENCY STOP BUTTON LID OPENING BUTTON START BUTTON Operating the white button on the main panel – LID OPENING: - White button lamp flashing continuously – main lid is unlocked and may be opened. - White button lamp blinking – press the white button to unlock the main lid. - White button lamp switched off – the lid is locked and cannot be opened. 11 KOOPTECH-CINEMA Sp. z o.o. [email protected] 3.3 Control panel The control panel indicates current cycle stage and allows to operate some of the functions manually. The red background color indicates an error. - The “H” letter blinking on the screen indicates the water heating is on. - If the “H” letter does not appear on the screen the water is already preheated to the appropriate temperature. 3.4 Leveling the machine The floor surface below the unit needs to be hardened and flat. - Adjust the legs of the machine to level it. - Check the level and overall stability of the machine. 3.5 Installation and start-up - Be sure to read Sections 8, 9 and 12 of this instruction before installation. - Prime the main pump as described in section 9.5. - Prime each dispenser as described in section 4.5. 12 KOOPTECH-CINEMA Sp. z o.o. [email protected] 4. Detergent and rinse aid - When handling chemicals, observe the safety precautions. If Kooptech-Cinema sp. z o.o. products are not used, observe the dosage recommendations on the packaging. - Wear protective clothing, protective gloves and protective goggles when handling chemicals. - We recommend Kooptech-Cinema sp. z o.o. products. These are especially adapted to Kooptech™ WD 110/60 cULus machine. - Do not put rinse aids in the storage container for detergents and vice versa. - Kooptech-Cinema Sp. z o.o. cannot be held responsible for unsatisfactory washing/drying results when improper detergent/rinse aid is used. 4.1 Washing detergent Detergent is necessary to ensure effective washing. Detergent is automatically dosed from an external container. The detergent dispenser is an integral component of the machine. The dosing amount is set by the authorised service technician when commissioning the machine. - Do not use acidic detergents. - Do not mix different detergent products in order to prevent crystallisation that could destroy the detergent dispenser. - Do not use products that can create foam, e.g. hand soap, soft soap, hand wash liquid. Ensure that these substances do not enter the machine under any circumstances. 4.2 Rinse aid Rinse aid is necessary to ensure effective drying. Rinse aid is automatically dosed from an external container. The rinse aid dispenser is an integral component of the machine. The dosing amount is set by the authorised service technician when commissioning the machine. Rinse aid has to be carefully matched to the properties of currently used detergent. 13 KOOPTECH-CINEMA Sp. z o.o. [email protected] 4.3 Changing the detergent/rinse aid product - Mixing different detergents/rinse aids can lead to a failure of the detergent/rinse aid dispenser. This is applicable even if the new detergent/rinse aid is from the same manufacturer. - The detergent/rinse aid sucking hoses must be thoroughly rinsed with water before the new detergent/rinse aid is used. A new type of detergent/rinse aid product usually requires a new setting of the detergent/rinse aid dispensers. Assign the required work to an authorised service technician. After rinsing the detergent/rinse aid sucking hoses always perform “Priming the detergent/rinse aid dispenser” procedure for appropriate dispenser. If this is not done, the warranty and product liability of Kooptech-Cinema sp. z o.o. expires. 4.4 Replacing elastomer tubes for detergent/rinse aid dispensers Make sure the transparent sucking hoses do not accidentally slip inside the machine before disconnecting the elastomer tube from transparent sucking hoses. Elastomer tubes are normal wearable parts which require periodical replacements. Ask your authorised distributor for new elastomer tubes. 14 KOOPTECH-CINEMA Sp. z o.o. [email protected] To replace the elastomer tube: 1. Open the dispenser blockade by lifting the appropriate handle. 2. Pull out the elastomer tube with two reducing straight push-on connectors connected with transparent sucking hoses. 3. Remove two reducing straight push-on connectors from transparent sucking hoses. 4. Connect the transparent hoses to the new elastomer tube with two reducing straight push-on connectors. 15 KOOPTECH-CINEMA Sp. z o.o. [email protected] 5. Place the elastomer tube in the appropriate dispenser. 6. Close the dispenser blockade. After replacing the elastomer tube always perform “Priming the detergent/rinse aid dispenser” procedure for appropriate dispenser. 4.5 Priming the detergent/rinse aid dispensers The tips of the sucking hoses for the detergent and rinse aid must always remain below the fluid level of the appropriate supply container. - “Priming the detergent/rinse aid dispensers” procedure must be performed every time the sucking hoses were removed from the supply containers. - Every time the washing detergent and/or the rinse aid is changed (different type/manufacturer) it is required to rinse the appropriate sucking hoses with water (according to the “Priming the detergent/rinse aid dispensers” procedure, using water instead of the detergent/rinse aid) and perform one full washing-drying cycle with no baskets inside the drum. 1. When the control panel displays ”Welcome to KOOPTECH” and the white button on the main panel is blinking press the white button. 2. Open the main lid. 16 KOOPTECH-CINEMA Sp. z o.o. [email protected] 3. Keep pressing the F2 button on the control panel while observing the left dosing nipple inside the bin. The left dosing nipple should be ejecting the detergent fluid. 4. The detergent dispenser is now primed. Release the F2 button. 5. Keep pressing the F3 button on the control panel while observing the right dosing nipple inside the bin. The right dosing nipple should be ejecting the rinse aid fluid. 6. The rinse aid dispenser is now primed. Release the F3 button. 17 KOOPTECH-CINEMA Sp. z o.o. [email protected] 5. Operation - Be sure to visually inspect detergent/rinse aid level in each supply container before using the machine. - The tips of the sucking hoses for the detergent and rinse aid must always remain below the fluid level of the appropriate supply container. - Do not start the cycle with the electric cabinet open. - Be sure there are no foreign objects (broken glasses, jewelry etc.) inside the drum before starting the machine. To start using the machine: 1. Open the machine water shut-off valve. 2. Switch on the machine main switch. 3. The control panel will display the following screen – the machine is now ready to work: 18 KOOPTECH-CINEMA Sp. z o.o. [email protected] 5.1 Loading the baskets inside the drum 1. Press the white button on the main panel and open the main lid. 2. Unlock the drum safety flaps by pressing the flaps lock as indicated below: Hold the left and right drum safety flaps to prevent them from too dynamic opening. 19 KOOPTECH-CINEMA Sp. z o.o. [email protected] 3. Insert the drum key inside the drum lock. 20 KOOPTECH-CINEMA Sp. z o.o. [email protected] 4. Turn the key 90 degrees clockwise. 5. Gently press the drum blockade as indicated below and move the blockade bolt back. The blockade bolt loose end should enter the hole on the front wall of the drum, preventing the drum from random rotation. 21 KOOPTECH-CINEMA Sp. z o.o. [email protected] 1. PRESS HERE 2. GRAB HERE AND PULL BACK 22 KOOPTECH-CINEMA Sp. z o.o. [email protected] 6. Open the left, then the right drum flap. 7. Place stainless steel baskets with protective covers attached inside two slots in the drum, facing each other. 8. Close the right drum flap and hold it to prevent from opening. 9. Close the left drum flap and hold it to prevent from opening. 10. Move the blockade bolt fully forward. 11. Turn the drum key 90 degrees counterclockwise. 12. Remove the drum key from the lock and hang it back on the outside holder. 23 KOOPTECH-CINEMA Sp. z o.o. [email protected] 13. Close the right drum safety flap and hold it to prevent from opening. 14. Close the left drum safety flap and lock it. 15. Close the main lid. After removing the drum key from the lock remember to always hang it back on the outside holder. 5.2 During the cycle To start the cycle press the green button on the main panel – START. During the normal washing/drying cycle control panel displays information about current cycle stage. 1. Filling - filling the bin with mixture of preheated water and washing detergent. 24 KOOPTECH-CINEMA Sp. z o.o. [email protected] 2. Washing - washing stage. 3. Draining - draining the mixture of water and washing detergent after washing stage. 25 KOOPTECH-CINEMA Sp. z o.o. [email protected] 4. Filling - filling the bin with fresh rinsing water. 5. Rinsing - rinsing stage. 26 KOOPTECH-CINEMA Sp. z o.o. [email protected] 6. Draining - draining the rinsing water. 7. Filling - filling the bin with mixture of water and rinsing aid. 27 KOOPTECH-CINEMA Sp. z o.o. [email protected] 8. Glossing - glossing stage. 9. Draining - draining the mixture of water and rinsing aid. 28 KOOPTECH-CINEMA Sp. z o.o. [email protected] 10. Drying - drying stage, during this stage draining occurs three times. 11. Stopped - cycle finished, indicated by an additional acoustic signal. 29 KOOPTECH-CINEMA Sp. z o.o. [email protected] 12. Main lid unlocked - main lid is now unlocked for 10 seconds, during this time the white button on the main panel is flashing, indicating that the main lid can be opened. 13. After 10 seconds, if the main lid was not opened, the white button starts blinking and the main lid becomes locked. To unlock the main lid press the white button on the main panel. Any water residues remaining in the bin will be automatically drained at the beginning of next cycle. 30 KOOPTECH-CINEMA Sp. z o.o. [email protected] 5.3 Standby mode After 15 minutes of disuse the machine automatically switches to Standby mode. This ECO-feature saves energy by switching off the water heating and the lamp inside the white button. To exit the Standby mode press the white button. 5.4 Manual draining For service/test purposes machine features manual draining mode which allows to drain the water manually with the main lid open. To drain the water manually: 1. Open the main lid. 2. Keep pressing the F1 button on the control panel to drain the water manually while visually inspecting the water level. 3. Release the F1 button when the water is drained. 31 KOOPTECH-CINEMA Sp. z o.o. [email protected] 6. Servicing and maintenance Wear protective clothing and protective gloves before touching parts in contact with detergent solution (drum, elastomer tubes, sucking hoses, outflow hose etc.). 6.1 Water filter 6.1.1 Water filter contamination level sensor Machine features water filter contamination level sensor. The following information “Clean filter” displayed on the control panel during cycle indicates contaminated water filter: - The machine can be runned for five consecutive times with contaminated water filter. - During those five consecutive cycles the “Clean filter” alarm can be reset by pressing F5. - If the “Clean filter” alarm is displayed during those five consecutive times and the cause is still not eliminated (the filter was not cleaned) the machine will automatically stop during washing stage of the sixth cycle, and will continue stopping until the cause is eliminated. 32 KOOPTECH-CINEMA Sp. z o.o. [email protected] - Beginning with the sixth cycle the “Clean filter” alarm cannot be reset by pressing F5. If the “Clean filter” alarm displays when working with the machine for the first time and/or if the machine is putted back into service after a long period of disuse the main pump is airbound thus needs to be primed (as described in section 9.5 of this instruction). Be sure to do this before the second cycle. 6.1.2 Cleaning the water filter Be aware that after unscrewing the filter head remaining water residues will pour off the filter body. To clean the water filter: - Turn off the main switch. - Close the machine water shut-off valve. - Unscrew the side cover labeled “WATER FILTER” on the right wall, covering brass water filter. 33 KOOPTECH-CINEMA Sp. z o.o. [email protected] - Use a wrench to unscrew the filter head from the body and remove the filter mesh. - Wash thoroughly the filter mesh in fresh water. 34 KOOPTECH-CINEMA Sp. z o.o. [email protected] - Put the filter mesh back into the filter head and screw the head back to the filter body. - Prime the main pump as described in section 9.5 of this instruction. - Screw the side cover labeled “WATER FILTER” back on the right wall. Remember to prime the main pump every time the water filter is cleaned. 6.2 Regular cleaning - Remember to keep the machine in proper working condition by regular cleaning and visually inspecting all hoses/connections for leakages. - Always check if there are no outside objects remaining inside the drum (f. eg. broken 3D glasses residues, jewelry etc.). - Remove dirt with a brush or a cloth. - Clean the outside walls and covers with a damp cloth. The following materials must not be used for cleaning: - High-pressure cleaners - Detergents containing chlorine or acid - Sponges and wire brushes containing metal - Abrasives or abrasive cleaners 35 KOOPTECH-CINEMA Sp. z o.o. [email protected] 7. Malfunctions This chapter explains the remedies for malfunctions. The causes and remedies are specified in the tables. Contact an authorised service technician if you cannot rectify the error yourself. Danger to life. Live components. - Do not open any machine covers or machine parts if it requires outside tools. There is danger of shock. This does not include “WATER FILTER” cover and water filter. - Only an authorised service technician should carry out work on the electrical system. The machine must first be disconnected from the mains. Live components. - The machine and the relevant additional devices must be connected by an authorised and qualified person as per the locally applicable standards and regulations. - When performing installation and maintenance work, unplug the machine from the power network. Check that there is no voltage. - The electrical safety of this machine is guaranteed only if it is connected to a correctly installed protective circuit and a residual current circuit breaker. It is very important that this basic safety requirement is tested and in case of doubt the house installation is checked by a qualified electrician. - The circuit diagram must be observed. - The equipment may only be operated at the voltages and frequencies specified on the rating plate. - A fixed connection must be installed for the machine. - The electrical connection must be secured as a separately fused circuit with slow fuses or circuit breakers. The protection depends on the total power consumption of the machine. The total connected load is specified on the rating plate of the machine. The electrical connection has to comply with National Electric Code, NFPA 70. 8.1 Requirements for the on-site fuse: - Class K5 or equivalent fuse - 30 A 8.2 Wiring system connection The back side of an enclosure is provided with a hole for the connection of a ¾ inch thread size conduit hub. Water connection The machine and any other relevant additional devices must be connected by an authorised person in relation to local standards and regulations. 9.1 Requirements for the on-site water connection Water quality The fresh water must in microbiological aspects have the quality of drinking water. Water inlet temperature cold water, max. 15 °C (59 °F) Water hardness < 2 °dH (less than 2 German degrees of hardness) Nominal flow pressure 2.5 bar – 3.0 bar [see page 49] Flow rate Power water source connector at least 2500 l/h (liters/hour) per one machine G3/4” male thread fitted with a cut-off valve Number of separate water drains 2 Water drains level min. 40 cm (15.7”) – max. 60 cm (23.6”) above floor level Main drain hose connection Ø24 Emergency drain connection Ø24 9.2 Connecting the water supply hose - Machine is supplied with a braided stainless steel supply hose with two ¾” female threads, length=100 cm. - The on-site water supply must be fitted with a G3/4” male thread, fitted with a cut-off valve. - The water supply line contains an empty G1/4” female thread for a screw-in pressure gauge. - The water supply hose may not be damaged. - Old existing hoses may not be re-used. 42 KOOPTECH-CINEMA Sp. z o.o. [email protected] - Connect the water supply hose to the on-site water source and to the machine. - Test whether the connections are tight. 43 KOOPTECH-CINEMA Sp. z o.o. [email protected] 9.5 Priming the main pump Before you start working with the machine for the first time, after cleaning the water filter and/or if the machine was taken out of service for a long period the main centrifugal pump requires priming. Running the machine with air-bound main pump may seize up the pump, causing damage. To prime the main pump: 1. Open the main lid of the machine. 2. Turn off the main switch. 3. Pour around 4 l (1 gal) of fresh water inside the drum. 4. Unscrew the “WATER FILTER” cover on the right wall of the machine. 5. Unloose the screw indicated below until you see the water coming out. 6. When you see the water coming out - screw it again tightly. 7. The main pump is now primed. Screw the “WATER FILTER” cover back. 47 KOOPTECH-CINEMA Sp. z o.o. [email protected] 10. Taking the machine out of service for a long period Follow this notes if the machine needs to be out of operation for a long duration (holidays, seasonal business, renovation): - Remove everything from the drum. Check if no outside object remains inside the drum (f. eg. broken 3D glasses residues, jewelry etc.). - Clean the machine. Allow any water residues to evaporate. - Close the main lid. - Turn off the main switch. - Close the water shut-off valve. - Check if the electric cabinet is locked. - Check if the main lid is locked. - Lock-out the main switch and tagout the machine. Notify an authorised service technician if the machine will be kept in place that is not frost-free. 11. Putting the machine back into service after a long period of disuse - Remove the lock from the main switch. - Open the water shut-off valve. - Turn on the main switch. - Prime the main pump (as described in section 9.5 of this instruction).
