Duality SE New Features Duality has recently been enhanced by the release of new SE version software. This is available on all factory shipped production models and can be retrofitted to any existing Duality console via a simple user installed software upgrade. This new edition of Duality is a response to customer feedback and provides a collection of new features and refinements to the established core feature set.

• The look and feel of the SSL Logictivity Browser has been refreshed to provide a more stylish and refined interface and a more pleasant user experience
SSL Automation & TotalRecall™
• A popular feature for use in heavy tracking sessions AUTOCUE provides the Duality Talkback switches with a number of options via the consoles setup menu. These choices are Momentary/ Latched/ Auto (Record)/ Auto (Play)
OFFLINE TRIM
• Duality now supports the ipMIDI Ethernet MIDI drivers enabling simplified single Ethernet cable connection
• Listen switch operates with the above options too
SWITCH AUTOMATION
• Many users feel that Ethernet provides a better “feel” when interacting with their chosen DAW
• Red Light modes Manual/ Auto (Record)/ Auto (Play)
• All Cue, FX, EQ and Insert switches can now be automated
• Users still have a choice to use existing 5 pin MIDI cables instead if they so wish
• Talkback switch disables Listen Option (Yes/No)
• New Automation Protection Modes prevent accidental changes once moves are complete
• Channel Scribble Strip names can now optionally be sourced from an Eyeconix image name automatically MIDI over Ethernet for DAW control
• Existing 5 pin MIDI ports 1+2 can be used as a MIDI Interface for Legacy equipment DUAL DAW Control • You can now control two separate DAWs (Digital Audio Workstations) simultaneously • The hardware controls can be switched seamlessly between manipulation of each DAW layer • There is an option to lock Transport control to a chosen DAW layer • A new ‘DAW2’ Switch– Switches DAW control to your second DAW layer
MONITOR VOLUME POT LOCK and FINE GAIN Control • In a response to customer requests, it is now possible to enter a Calibrated monitor volume mode CAL, which will lock out the volume pot to prevent accidental adjustment. In addition there is also a FINE control option, which allows 0.4dB increments; this is activated by the monitor volume pot being pushed. • Options to set Monitor volume display to FILM (off-95dB), Music (1-11) or Gain (off-0dB)
• Allows use of the D-Pots to apply an offset, enabling the overall level of an automated channel to be adjusted without affecting the underlying automation data
• Automation Mix Update Mode sets the default automation update mode at the start of the mix. (available modes; Replay/Absolute/Trim) AUTOSCAN for Total Recall The TotalRecall™ system is improved through the addition of AUTOSCAN which provides a sequential scan of the channels only stopping at those which require attention
Additional Refinements • Display of Group and Master Fader Trim Levels instead of Protection status • The CUT button can now be configured to execute on the Upstroke or Downstroke • Solo Isolated channels can now Automatically AFL as an option • ‘Faders to 0dB’ now applies to Group faders as well as Channel faders • UNDO switch for accidental fader setting • Solo Isolated Mode is now indicated by a flashing SOLO switch • When an Input is Flipped +48V Phantom Power is automatically disabled • TFT screens can be turned off at any time for listening focus • SOLO Gain Boost can now be configured to operate across a 0-10dB range • New SHOW LINKS switch- Provides a useful quick display of Linked channels • New Switch Caps - 3 new switch caps are shipped in the software upgrade box (along with Activation code and Install instructions)

New Solo/Cut Tiles All new Duality SE production consoles will feature new LCD display based Solo/Cut Tiles. Each display provides a continuous two line display area across bays of 8 faders. This format provides a greater area for information display and streamlines MCU interfacing. The new Tiles are available as an upgrade option (SSL Service visit required).
