Convection Cooling No Fans, Dust Filters, or Fan Fuses Fans and fan sensors are one of the most common components to fail. For maximum uptime, ePanel-2 systems do not contain any fans, dust filters to change, or fan fuses to replace. The Series 70 ePanel-2 Remote Power Panels utilizes a natural convection-cooled heat dissipation system.

Serialized Circuit Board Tracking Serialized circuit boards We serialize and track all critical circuit boards and memory cards through our eBOSS portal, which allows customers to reference which components their machines are made from, who tested the components, as well as the ability to view notes generated from testing. Serialized components offer the ability to drill-down on prospective component failure utilizing predictive modeling techniques, so if part fails, the instance can be cross-referenced with similar parts. This preventative maintenance helps ensure maximum uptime.

Selective Trip Coordination Selective Trip Coordination LayerZero Series 70 ePanel-2 Remote Power Panels are selective trip coordinated. Selective Trip Coordination ensures that the main breaker will remain unaffected by the branch circuit breakers in the event of a downstream fault.
The Fault Current Opens the Solenoid Magnet, Causing The Contacts To Part
Unequal Pressure on Each Side of The Arc Causes the Plasma Wave To Rotate Away From The Contacts
The Plasma Wave is Driven into 12 Evenly Spaced Dividers
The Plasma is Rapidly Cooled
Transient Voltage Attempts To ReStrike The Arc, But The Plasma Is Again Pushed Into The Dividers
When Sufficiently Cool, Charged Particles Recombine And The Fault Current Is Stopped Quickly & Safely
Main CB does not trip Panel board critical bus outage lasts <4 msec. Critical loads continue to operate Faulted branch CB trips in <4 msec

Sectionalized Components Sectionalized Components Help Maximize Operator Safety Operators are well-protected from exposed connections. There is a physical separation between the main circuit breaker(s) and branch circuit breakers. All connections are optically isolated to minimize risk. Polycarbonate windows are utilized to permit visibility and maximize operator safety.
Energized parts are all insulated, covered, recessed, &/or internally mounted for safer operation of the unit. In addition, sections that isolate machine components are insulated.

SafePanel™ Distribution The LayerZero SafePanel™ The Series 70 ePanel features an IP-20, finger-safe panel board, meaning that the opening will not allow ingress of ½” (12.5mm) diameter probe, for maximum operator safety. An arc can form as two live conductors are separated – such as the removal of a circuit breaker from a panel board. The SafePanel design ensures that a potential arc would be contained in the connection well so that even if a branch breaker were to be removed, the arc would be contained in the connection well. Insulated with the components deeply isolated, removal of the breaker is safe and easy.

Front-Only Access Front Only Access Enhances Critical Load Reliability The Series 70: ePanel-2 can be installed, operated, diagnosed and maintained from the front. The dead-front panels are hinged, and side or rear covers never have to be removed. Unhinged covers can be bulky and unwieldy, and operator error during removal and replacement of covers has been known to cause mishaps and compromise load reliability. A safe, non-invasive operation and maintenance regime results in a higher reliability of the critical load.

Bluetooth Connectivity Bluetooth Helps Keep Panel Board Names Up-To-Date Coordinate efforts to keep panel board naming conventions accurate and up-to-date with Bluetooth connectivity. In critical facilities, Facilities typically install the physical circuit breakers, while IT workers manage naming of panel designations. With Bluetooth connectivity, the naming of circuit breakers can be taken care of at the point-of-impact, bringing together the efforts of facilities and IT for more accurate panel names.

“Black Box” Forensic Diagnostics “Black box” forensic diagnostics
The black box capabilities of LayerZero equipment are extremely useful for analyzing root cause analysis, enabling operators to pinpoint exactly where a fault occurred. “Black box” forensics provide successive event information with ten microsecond resolution, supplies a brief snapshot of the event with a lead-in for further inquiry, and furnishes a real-time status indicator of all machine parameters at the time of the event.
“Black box” event history is one of the most useful recording schemes in the mission critical power machine industry.
LayerZero Black Box Forensics Can Help You: • Reconstruct The Sequence of Events • Find the Root Cause of Power Quality Incidents • Record Snapshots of the Power

Power Monitoring Option
Connectivity Option
To support the total needs of an increasingly information centric critical power distribution environment, the Series 70 ePanel may be optionally equipped with a branch circuit level and panel board main circuit power monitoring. The Panel Board Branch Power Monitor allows site management to monitor power consumption. This provides information that is increasingly vital to the revenue model of many data processing units.
Each panel board is equipped with the ability to communicate measured information remotely to the Building Management System using open protocols. The connectivity is Ethernet based and the design is plugand-play. Each panel board is assigned a fixed IP address. Information is accessed via:
In addition to measuring the main bus voltage of the panel board and delivering Waveform Capture upon anomaly of main bus voltage, the power monitor measures the following parameters for each of the 42 branch circuits in a given panel board:
• Web-browser (http://) service
20
• MODBUS TCP/IP service • SNMP service • Bluetooth
